  • You also use ANOVA to be sure with out a doubt that your variables under study correlate to one another and that it is not spurrious. ANOVA helps companies make competitive and sound business decisions.

  • just wanted to point out that when you run basic anova it only shows that 5 groups are different it does not make comparisons between specific groups so you cant say that michigan students are happier

  • That's true, the anova analysis does not say that. But what it says is that the school choice can determine happiness. And based on the averages, one would infer that going to "Michigan" would increase the happiness factor. If the Anova turned out that school choice was independent, you couldn't use the averages like that. That's the point of the Anova analysis - you want to find out what factors will give you the best outcome.

  • Oh really? i didn't know that, i thought Tukey was used to find out which factors provide certain outcomes. maybe i'm thinking of one of the steps to Anova.
