  • On this date in 1980 {Jan. 26th} "Special Lady" entered Billboard's Top 100 chart, eventually it would peaked at No. 5 and spent a total of 18 weeks in the Top 100!!!

  • Man, they really shouldn't clap. It's throwing things off.

  • Very Good, feel in love to this song a long time ago

  • esta musica é linda que saudades bons tempos

  • To my one and only Gina, my true love, also referred to as "Sunshine". You have been away from me for too many years. Time to do something that.

  • @goddydee2 should read "Time to do something ABOUT that.

  • That was music !!!!

  • I can sing in 3 part harmony like this j/k!

  • Thanks for uploading this!!! Enjoyed watching!!

  • Sergiomats, I said the same thing to my best friend. If these ladies wouldn't stand for the name calling and disrepecting these boys would have to grow up.

  • Class act.

  • This is what The Stylistics, The Spinners, and The Delfonics were known for in The early 70's. Too bad stuff like this doesn't exist anymore.

  • All of of a sudden she slipped in from behind. Kinky man, kinky.

  • That clapping!!! Irrating!

  • Can you say "roller skating" in the late 70's and early 80's.

  • Fico imaginando, Ja Rule, Snoop Dogg e Cia, cantando nesses trajes. Seria Épico. Essa melodia marcou época e deixa saudade.

  • The bass and that guitar during the chorus is sick!

  • "Songs like this are timeless and sorely missed!"

  • esta rola me recuerda cuando estaba en el cecyt 82 en chicalie en 1980 el picho lobo tury y el cristo 29

  • This aired March 29, 1980 on American Bandstand

  • They cut it off when it starts getting good, bummer!

  • Funky, groovy song. Very romantic and sexy. It's a very underrated song. you never here this song rereleased. It's a classic. Like I've said most music from the 1970's produced was classic

  • Who the mess would "Dislike" this!?

  • When music was actually music.

  • They must have been on American Bandstand-those people can't clap on beat, lol

  • OOOHH yeah!!!!!! Brings back memories!!!!!

  • I was born in the 90s but I like good music

  • where is the man who calls me his special lady??????????

  • It had a sweet melody, sweet intnet, it focused on a man's love for his lady instead of his LUST. It was done without autotune, rapping, or a dub by the rapper of the month. Music execs, would it kill us to go back to real music???

  • and RIP Harry Ray, the lead singer

  • I love how after being The Moments for 10 years they were able to reinvent themselves as Ray, Goodman and Brown

  • I AM ON SISTER COMPUTER AGAIN SHE LOVES ALL OF THESE SONGS SHE CAN EVEN PLAY THEM ON THE PIANO,SHE'S A NATURAL LADY AND I LOV E HER.

  • Classic!! Brilliant!!

  • This song is for sure a classic. I love this song and I was only one when this came out but I still appreciate the old school.

  • WOW WHATA GREAT

    SONG

  • @grizzlyfan41: They are so miserable that is why they don't have anybody special in their lives. Reminds me of a guy i know....his own mother tries to hide when she hears him coming. When he calls his dog...even the dog stays away from him.

  • I LUV THIS SONG. I WASNT EVER BORN WHEN THIS SONG CAME OUT.

  • UNSUNG!!!!!

  • yeah you have to be all alone in the world to not like this song

  • Essa música é inesquecivél, bons tempos da rádio mundial do rio de janeiro.

  • Just look at the style, the class, and the melody. They don't sing like these anymore. I blame both men AND WOMEN. If women took a stand and said that they would not tolerate music that treats women like sluts, men would have to change their songs. But since some women take great "pride" and being seen as a slut, then men don't sing like these 3 brothers.

  • @sergiomats I am going to have to aks that you get outta my head, because this is what I ahave been saying for a long time. Thank you.

  • @sergiomats Blame PIRACY. You get what you pay for.

  • @sergiomats Exactly, men no longer have to rise to the occasion because women (aside from myself) set the bar so low...

  • REAL FUKKIN MUSIC RIGHT HERE YO...1980 WAS A GOOD YEAR FOR MUSIC.

  • thank you ..renee..i always knew you loved her..This is a song that it s raw and honest and..HOT!!

  • this is for my wife joyce luv u baby sitting in H town thinking about you

  • This song is forever special in my life.

  • Reminds me of the rollerskating era and disco. I used to hear this all the time back

in 1980 on the radio and the rollerskating.

  • @jpsmart59 i agree with you i remember being in central park in 1980 watching people roller skate with walk-man's in their ears-we use to listen WBLS or 92 KTU -good ole days

  • I used to sing this to my little girls.

  • I love this song, I know it from my father, who's love more this songs than I.

    Also thanx dad. : )

  • I love this song but my black ass was always on punishment when this song came out, I was in fourth grade getting F's and D's.. Fuck up Christmas and Birthdays is what this song reminds me of.. But its still the cut!!!

  • this is an old school song for me....years ago but a Very Special Song

  • you know I remember this song and the group, the Moments were an outstanding group with a very slick and sexy style, with a first tenor (in Harry Ray) who could hold his own with any of the great tenor of that time.

  • Fourteen people suck.

  • @slimmsayton A lot more, actually.

  • they were the sh-- back then, but i still love them.old school all the way baby

  • A special song, a special group, a "Special Lady"...

  • Billy Brown, the sole surviving member, sang lead on the group's BIGGEST HIT EVER... the 2 million seller, "LOVE ON A TWO - WAY STREET

  • R.I.P. to Al Goodman ....passed away July 27, 2010

  • DAMN!! Make's you wanna fall in love! Doesn't it?

  • wonderful music! great vocals!

  • Some very smooth classy good-looking men!

    Always loved there music.

  • To a black man you must be a SPECIAL LADY if..

a you have all your front teeth

    b you can love unconditionally

c you have less than 10 kids..by the same man

  • @teehonky dude, racists like you ruin this world.

  • @BodaciousBeaver naw.. the world was ruined BEFORE we got here....blame the illegals

  • Better now than when it was first recorded.

  • Old school music for fuckin sure. This song brings back alot of memories.Love it!!!! Still sounds good.Sounds better than the music today

  • ghostface ;D

  • This will always be in my heart forever. I was my mans SPECIAL LADY until his life was cut short in 1984. He always sang this song to me or requested it no matter where we were. Thanks for the memories

  • Gentleman Music!

  • I was 7 years old when this record came out. My stepdad gave me his copy to keep when I was in the 3rd grade. I liked this song so much, I brought it to show and tell to let my teacher play it...wow the song had all our little asses dancing! lol! Besides staying away from the belt, this song and a lot of others from this era was golden and with great memories!

  • I was in Middle school-the time of the Atlanta Child Murders was going on. People want to forget this time-yet the Atlanta Police did a poor job on getting to the root of these senseless crimes! You had alot of adults that were also being killed, as well as "The List" of children who were murdered! Nevertheless, I did like this song

  • I remember this one! One of the most beautiful songs ever! I was 16 or 17 at the time. But even then, it had a nostalgic quality reminiscent of of the doo-wop era. But some of you younger posters need to understand that when posting songs, you should try to be complete. We don't want the gist of the song, like you get when listening to Amazon.com samples. Post the whole song from start to finish. Thank you.

  • Brings back memories back in 1980 was 12yr old locked up at Hokio Beach BH ( Juvinile Hall ) in Levin , New Zealand ... classic slow jams from the early 80s when Disco / Rnb / Funk was king amongst us Pacific Islanders & Maori's ..........

  • This is more my culture of music when you close your eyes you are just transended anywhere but the situation you aren at that time. Love it

  • Im 21 years old and i love the 70's and 80's. when i sing karaoke i always sing oldies and all the older folks are like "what you know about that?" i would just say my mother, and i love it.

  • @moneymain1 Good for you! It's important to appreciate music from all generations and genres. There are current singers out there with talent. But a lot of music from the past is so much more genuine.

  • Billboard's #42 song of '80. RG&B hit #1 soul, #5 pop, #17 AC, in Billboard. RIP, Harry Ray! God bless!

  • Not my cup of tea, but I can definitely understand why a lot of you like it.

  • Love the intro to this song where the guys are talking back and forth.

So great. What simple times those were. I'm a 43 year-old white male from SoCal, and I'm taking a trip down memory lane tonight. Switch, The Manhattans, Ray, Goodman & Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, and all the other amazing Soul from the 70's and early 80's.

I won't say there isn't any good music today (there's plenty) but I will say that no one makes music like this anymore, and I sure wish they would....

  • @davidober Hey, David, I'm 47, and, I love this old school soul, like you do. God bless you.

  • @davidober I concur with you Davidober. I am the same age, full-blooded Mexican, American born, and I can't get enough of the tremendous contributions of our African-american composers/performers. They are a great talent. I also sympathize with the way that R&B has been hijacked by the gangsters. I can hear this stuff forever.

  • This has to be in my all time favovites. What a shame how R&B got hijacked by these punks today.

  • so really nice
