First of all, I don't care what Ozzy had to do in the 50s/60s to hear music he liked. It was a very different era.

I also don't care because I'm not Ozzy. But yeah I had to buy his cds (or borrow one from a friend) to try him. I didn't wait until his label sold a song to a videogame to find out. So, I did seek him out.

And I don't feel superiority because of where I heard a song, I feel a superiority when it comes to musical taste/knowledge because I put the effort in to find mine.

If you play GTA and hear a song you haven't heard before and like it, you are a failure. There may be millions upon millions of songs in the world, but that doesn't matter.

Unfortunately GH has spawned a legion of unbearable shitheads who actually think that Herman Li is the fastest shredder ever, or that tapping is harder than sweep picking. It's a small fraction out of millions, though, as most people who play it are only doing so for enjoyment, fully aware that it's a game and they are not Paul Gilbert.

It's a shame that the worst of the crowd are the ones that tend to stick out the most. I hate these guys as much as anyone, but there's no need to generalize.
