I used the ''.psd'' (castle modified in photoshop) file and linked it to my null object, but the .psd image is not a smooth render like yours, it is shaky. Can you help me? i want is to be fix to the back ground, now it move and it isn't realistic at all.
I have 2 nul objets linked, the one linked on the second and the .psd linked to the first.
@ClintWRea Wow...at least he took the time and energy to give a free tutorial on how to do this all. More commendable and appreciated than your snarky critique, don't you think?
What cameras were u guys using ( The one on the tripod). I am trying to find a realy good camera with good quality for a good price. I am a young video maker but i do alot of chase scenes ect aswell as web shows outdoors. any Help?
a simple way to add a realistic camera shakeis to film something else without a tripod, track the motion in after effects (the track data goes onto a null object that we created earlier) and parent the actual still video to the track data.
You need After Effects or something like it to track an inserted background graphic in a pan or tilt shot (regardless of what editing program you have). The first part of this tutorial (up until 2.16) you should be able to achieve in Premiere Element. Good luck!
BZL Productions, why don't you just download Premiere and After Effects? They can be found everywhere.
Also, the castle looks too small compared to the subject because it' too close. In the LOTR films, the miniatures were composited in a way that made the castles and structures look huge necause they were VERY FAR from the subjects.
You need After Effects or something like it to track an inserted background graphic in a pan or tilt shot (regardless of what editing program you have). The first part of this tutorial (up until 2.16) is the same basic technique in FCP as it is in Premiere. Good luck!

Same here... I subscribe to this magazine and this webcast, but they only show HIGH END software, I'm just a poor bastard tryin to do this on a budget. I have elements 7 and GIMP, can someone give me a free copy of AE?!?! LOL
I know how you feel. I'm trying to make an impossibly ambitious sci-fi short on a budget that would barely cover the cost of sandwiches from Tesco.....
Vegas lets you use PSD (photoshop) files just like premiere. The only diference is that for motion tracking, you have to do it manually using keyframes.

@lexdimond1 True, it could probably be done smoother with some added effort, but we're just demonstrating the possibility.

That is not actually a virtual set. It's a miniature.
I saw it in the making of-DVD.

The example is flawed. The castle seems too small and its too bright compared to the original video.
