man you need lessons from some amateur who can play.... can't you bend a note, hahahaha...no feel hahahaha...no timing hahahaha..what can i say....don't quit your day job...
Blues is almost all about notes being warbly, hence its accesability for slide guitar, trombones and bends on guitar and harmonica. It sounded a lot like slide to me.
i've seen him sweep, i've seen him tap, and i've seen and heard him play more soulful, jazzy, metally, bluesy, and rockin' stuff than i bet all you nay-sayers are capable of. and the heavy distortion is his DiMarzio pickups, the bridge position for extra treble, and possibly the amp too.
he just does these for the extra notice. i had the opportunity to actually study under him in person, not on workshoplive, and he is in fact a phenominal guitarist and one of the best, if not the best, i have ever met. it's just a demo to attract new subscribers.
People that say distortion does not belong with blues are extremely ignorant. Are they trying to say that all the songs that eric clapton, zz top, and arlen roth used distortion on is not "real" blues? Songs like Crossroads, House of the Rising sun, and Sharp Dressed Man all use distortion so take your wierd anti distortion crap somewhere else!
i am getting so sick of reading all these posts telling this guy to use his "emotions." Please post somewhere else, this is a guitar lesson not a concert. Just because he doesnt look like he's feeling it doesnt mean he's not.
no feeling no timing, bad bends with super speed vibratos...also you dont use whammy bar for blues,it DOESNT sound good,at all

Hey get rid of all the distortion, this isn't heavy-metal blues.

c'mon boneheads. these are guitar lessons. students have to see and hear the individual notes. guaranteed he can shred when he wants to.

Completely agree... youre just playing notes, not "saying" anything. Where's the soul?

It doesn't look like he's "feeling" anything...very sterile.
