by the way - the topic of necrophilia in that movie is shown in a subtle form, which can attract even the attention of those who run away from a conversation about this topic. Generally the society rejects movies like "Nekromantik"(because they are disgusting for them)-I BELONG TO THEM-but when a movie of the SAME subject is shown in such a delicate way(like in KISSED)"we" dont deny it- WHAT A CONTRADICTION.
This is one of my all time favourite films. Always difficult trying to explain how beautiful it is to friends. As soon as they hear the word 'necrophilia' I can see the expression change in their eyes. I still marvel at the fact that that the director managed to make her film about a necrophile even palatable, let alone transformational and moving. Plus it was the first time I was introduced to Sarah Maclachlan's music. I would love to have the film on disc. I do have the soundtrack though.
@bevz2nikki thanks! I saw it a while ago, and the movie itself was so O_O, but the idea was sort of made sense...I immediately thought about the Waari tribe of the Amazon who use to eat their dead...it was not taboo, it was a way to keep alive their ancestors instead of dumping them into the cold ground...definitely taboo but interesting ;)
The actor who plays Matt in this movie has AMAZING eyes...I couldn't stop staring at them the whole movie. Plus, he was excellent in it (Peter Outerbridge). Matt's so handsome and completely accepts her bizzare habit, but she just can't let it go. Sad.
My mother died 3 years ago. It would have been a pleasure to be the one that pulled the plug on her. I'm not crazy or disturbed....but I have 5 brothers and sisters.....it would have been special to me.
@francisco999 You know the word "Pleasure" doesn't really belong in there then, or else it does sound crazy and disturbed. I think the word you're looking for is "honor". But I don't really mind either way.
But in reality wouldn't the bodies smell too awful to get aroused by. I mean if you can't take out your date while you have body odor how can she be turned on by the stench of corpses?
This movie basically explains necrophilia in a girls perspective, and at the same time she falls inlove with Matt. I won't give away the rest cause it is a pretty good flick =]
I saw this movie nearly 10 years ago. I've been in love with it since. It's something that has always been in the back of my mind! Thanks so much for uploading this trailer, now Im just hoping for the chance to see this movie again. Molly Parker is such an awesome actor and I like Peter Outerbidge in this too.

@12eebok Thank you and I agree. I just read my post again and it does sound horrible with the word 'pleasure'. I would have been 'an honor'.

thatsimonguy 3 years ago 19
@thatsimonguy it is a Necromance in this movie, it's her love of Dead Men, and the tear it causes her and her boyfriend.
chuckbear 1 year ago
@thatsimonguy It's obviously a play on the word romance.
as the word necro ends with "RO". anywhoooo....
