  • the best performance

  • This is the best version of the chorus that I've seen, backing vocals are perfect :)

  • man this version is dead on with the record version :O

  • @brunobliss apart from being shortened :P

  • nice post..very rare

  • 0:38 rock it John.

  • Freddie Mercury..perfect voice, classically trained on the piano, songwriter ..designed Queens logo .Beautiful, shy sweet and .sexy..part of something so perfect. Brian May Guitar Master.. Brilliant song writter, Roger Taylor great on drums and that falsetto! John Deacon wrote some of Queen's most memorible songs and amazing bass player..This band. this music. pure genius I saw them 3 times "77 and "78 at MSG and "82 in meadowlands..so rare to find so much talent in one group

  • Can anyone else have pictured Freddie Mercury on Broadway?

  • @ArtOvShred555 Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing please comment "like"

  • the best live version of this song! all notes perfect!

  • Elvis is not even close to Freddie Mercury, Freddie produced his own songs and his vocal was better than any other human that has lived! Elvis will always be second to Freddie, the only thing Elvis had compared to Freddie was his looks!

  • ..GRANDE FREDDIE MERCURY, EL "DIOS" DEL ROCK, UNA EXCEPCIÓN, A LA REGLAS,..UNA LEYENDA , LEJOS, LO MEJOR QUE AH EXISTIDO .....VIDA ETERNA AL ROCK...

  • i heard once ... "If Elvis es the King... Mercury is The Queen"

  • breath taking...

  • lmao @ everything I hated about the 70's.

That being said, I am more toward Freddie being a god, and my children will grow up with Queen music, just like I did. RIP Freddie, we miss you.

  • :38 lulz

  • o fred era bom o elvis era otimo o raul seixas o maximo

  • This is everything I hated about the 70s.

That being said, I just found a bunch of Queen songs here I never heard before. And they are much better songs than this top-40 crapper, that hate SO f___g much! So even though this specific song utterly sucks, and was already overplayed to death by 1975, Queen as a band has now earned my belated respect.

  • @Rep0007 Stop your complaining or leave...

  • Stupid overdubs...

  • If i were given a time machine I would go to this concert!!!!!!!

  • If I were in their position, I probably would have shortened it also. I personally think it's too laid back and slightly repetitive to play the entire thing through and keep an audience on their toes. Don't get me wrong, I love the song, it just isn't meant to be a big feature in a live setting.

  • @Quirxilonious The only reason the song is shortened is because it's part of a medley but the rest of your logic I cannot understand. The whole song is 3:05 seconds and is one of their biggest early hits. How can a song that lasts 3 minutes be too long and repetitive to be played live. Personally I can listen to Close to the Edge, Supper's Ready, and Thick As A Brick live every day. But that's just me.

  • Brian May can change the whole solo, but it still sounds perfect! He's a living god!

  • 70's Freddie had such impressive vocal abilities

  • QUEEN 4EVER!!!!

  • freddie, you make my heart melt

  • I wish Brian's solo went on forever.

  • 0:38 John is rockin' it. "Anytiiime!"

  • Amazing! Freddie looks so sexy playing the piano and Brian looks like God O.O XD I think this is the best live version of Killer Queen, it is perfect! ***** Queen the best

  • great backing vocals...my god

  • why the hell did they have to shorten it? IT WAS THE BEST KILLER QUEEN THEY DID HANDS DOWN! WTF MAN! THEY HAD IT! THEY HAD IT ALL AND BLEW IT!!!!!!!

  • @Shabadoop Yeah. Doesn't seem like this song was performed live too many times. Maybe they didn't like it all that much, or maybe it was too difficult to consistently perform live.

  • It's a hard song...only Freddie can sing it!

  • JZ ,,suck it and the rest of the rap crap world..

you will never be as good as this!

  • One of the all time best singers! Not many today can come close in comparison.

  • many?... I say NONE!!!

  • @jugernaut100 Adam Lambert is amazing in a technical sens but he severely lacks the uniqueness and expression/songwriting that Freddie demonstrated from the very beginning of his career.

  • does it really matter that much?? y would anybody care that 20 years after his death, some bullshit haters would be going onto their videos and saying "he didn't have and incredible vocal range"? Hes gone for gods sake! lets just preserve the dozens of albums he wrote for us and the amazing performances from him that characterized rock in the 70's. RIP freddie

  • that part ofd high Galeleo's was playback in every live version of bhmrhapsody....

  • No, I meant the studio "Galeleo's" -I know that live, they used a tape of the operatic section. My point was that even the ridiculously high studio stuff was Roger, but I never heard much of the newer stuff.

  • @cathoderoy my friend, the ridiculous high stuff was a Bb5 okay? Thats the highest note Roger hits at the end of the Opera part.

Check yourself. Okay, now my point. Freddie hit even higher notes than just a Bb5 live ^^

Look Wembley first of all in Impromptu (and in Wembley he had huge voice problems, read Jim Huttons book) he hits Bb5. Then Impromptu live in Japan he hits D6.

Roger´s advantage was that he did not suffer from Voccal Nodules.

  • ok:)

  • Don't get me wrong, I think he was incredible, too... the texture of his voice was beautiful and incomparable, but there are people that could kick his ass in the higher registers, although they didn't have that beautiful tone he naturally had, among many other things...

  • listen to the Innuendo album, particularly "All God's People" and say that. He had a magnificent upper register. In the early days he hadn't developed it yet.

  • what is upper register

  • @realmadridhfg the voice is devided into three main registers: Low, Mid, and Upper, upper meaning 'higher'. what i was saying was that freddie hadn't fully developed his upper register(high range) at this point yet.

  • @realmadridhfg I dont know but it´s very hight

  • @cathoderoy

Fuck off, first saying bad things about freddie and then when you get minuses you apologise. Freddie was the best singer ever.

  • one of the best versions of this song i ever heard live

  • america didnt turn its back to queen usa did. south america has lots of queen fans. concerts in argentina and brasil were overwhelming. in rio 1985 they played at rock in rio fest for 2 nights, starting at 2 after midnight and they had more than 200000 people on each of the performances

  • I think Queen is one of the best bands in history, not just listen to queen and also listen to other genres I can not say that other bands are very good but are good in their genre and queen was good at different things

  • I listen to Queen. I've learned all I need to know about music. Hahaha.

Oh and stop using words you don't know what they mean. They're for big boys...hahaha...

  • If studying musical theory is going to turn me into a loud, aggressive, insulting piece of shit such as yourself I'll stay away from it.

Musical theorists play 1,000 chords for 3 people. Queen plays four chords for millions. I'll let you try and sort that shit out on your invaluable time you math-e-musical dick.

  • LOL? Are you kidding me!?

4 chords? Queen has Songs with 4 chords, but also songs with a 4874651894 chords...

    Idiot!

  • You're a moron. Nobody can definitively say who is the "best band ever." What's the measuring tool? The best band ever is whoever a given person thinks is the best band ever. Dream Theater may be stellar musicians, but I think they're fucking abominable - I'd rather listen to The Beatles. You're in no position to tell me I'm wrong. Stop trying to suck your own dick and do something with your life.

  • @tobyobrie well said bro...couldn't agree more...you wanna debate on the best ever..only a fool would say the Beatles aren't in the top 2, or 3...

  • what are you laughing at? you seem to have some sort of problem...

  • Wow the two of you are tiresome! Just sit back and appreciate the music. However, just to add to the vitriol, McCartney was probably a better songwriter than John, but without Lennon, he was not a patch on his former self...

  • "Lennon/McCartney are by far the greatest songwriters of all time." I personally find statements like these absurd. ..we are talking about an art form and an artist and therefore there is no 'best'.....although by the same logic, it would be incredibly difficult to say that John Lennon was a better front man than Freddie! Staments like "Freddie Mercury is known for his voice and his performing thats it" show a disregard for all the artistes influenced by the SONGWRITING genius of the man.

  • I agree with you about his performing, but if you actually listen closely to some of his stuff, it's incredible how complex it is. I honestly don't know how you can say he isn't a very good writer. He always comes up with possibly the most complex harmonies in rock and fits them in to sound perfectly, not to mention you can argue the fact that he wrote 2 of like the 5 most popular songs ever. I'd say he was a damn good writer. I don't know how you can argue against it.

  • That is your opinion that is complex. Queens songs arent in the top 5 most popular songs ever, by fact. Yes I agree that some of his stuff is complex, but thats the difference between him and Lennon/McCartney and Page/Plant.. SOME of his stuff is complex and practically ALL of their stuff is complex. Lennon/McCartney are by far the greatest songwriters of all time. Freddie Mercury is known for his voice and his performing thats it. A couple popular songs doesn't determine greatness.

  • I not trying to say that he is the best, because I think that Lennon is easily #1, but I'll never budge on Freddie being in the top 5. Determined by Guinness World Records, Bo Rhap is the most popular song ever, and according to Sony Ericsson, it's We Are the Champions. I understand that means like nothing, but they are easily two of the most recognizable and well like songs ever.

  • How did Guinness world records "determine" that. can you show me an article proving that? because yesterday by the beatles is the most covered song in history as well as the most played song on american tv. stairway to heaven is the most requested song of all time on radio. elton johns candle in the wind is the uks best selling single. bo rhap was ranked 163 by rolling stone in the 500 greatest songs. not even in the top 100 OUCH. btw queen isnt just freddie mercury.....

  • McCartney is a arrogent stiff who can't take a joke. Zepplin is simply overated because they were all straight and had above three good songs. Elton John? I'm not insulting him. But I don't know where you got your facts. Queen spent more time on the UK cahrts then anyother artist beating all three listed above. The American public were and still are too tight to let one bi musician into their world. That's being closed minded. Amercian.

  • I totally agree with you! Queen is the best band, ever!. It is so shameful how America turned their back on Queen!

  • Its true, how is it possible that Queen has been in the top UK charts longer than the Beatles? This totaly means they are the greatest band ever! People here in the USA are terrbile at judging music

  • I don't say that all of his stuff is complex, I mean, just look at "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". It's only 3 chords in the whole song. However, if you listen to the harmonies in the background of Bohemian Rhapsody, it's mind blowing to know that someone was able to come up with that all on their own, especially considering he's a rock musician, and not a an opera singer or anything like that. He hit on so many different genres. It's just unreal the range of music that he covered.

  • your acting like its only freddie writing everything. Give credit where its due.

  • That's because it actually is for those songs. Go look some stuff up. Even Brian May, their guitarist, says that for "Bohemian Rhapsody", Freddie came up with the guitar part, bass part, and drum part all by himself, not to mention all of the vocals, including the opera and harmonies, and the piano part. Queen is a band where the members wrote songs individually, and the collaborated to see what should be on albums. When more than one person contributed to a song, it was a song written by

  • Queen, such as "Stone Cold Crazy", where as other songs such as "We Are the Champions" is a Freddie song, and "We Will Rock You" was written by Brian May.

  • Still not the best songwriter =)

  • Once again, I never said he was the best.

  • Once again, I never said you said he was the best.. See how that one works?

  • I don't really understand how you can say Freddie isn't even in the top 15 composers. Just look at some of the stuff he came up with all by himself. "Bohemian Rhapsody", "We Are the Champions", "Somebody to Love", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Killer Queen", and the list goes on. If that's not enough, then I just don't know what is.

  • Freddie said this song was about how rich people can also be whores

  • yeah i know. i mean one of the greatest Frontman / Singer.

  • yeah man

  • this song makes no sense...BUT I <3 IT

  • if u decode it yes it does....i dont get it either....

  • Makes perfect sense. You just need to understand the man behind it.

  • That is so true my friend, I love you.

  • AWESOME MAN

  • At :30, John Deacon finally gets a singing part.

  • ...with his mic unplugged 8D

    Aww, poor Deaks.

  • also to in away his smoking kinda gave him that power as he could no longer do higher pitch voices as a result he used a more lower tone in as result more powerful voice but anyway see ogre battle and liar and you will see him in the 70s with heavy powerful voice

  • The best rock voice ever

  • hateironmaiden,i thought i was a wind bag .WTF,do you mean, deacon cant play?your talking about one of the best bass players of all time!>

  • freddie was and is a genius....the greatest musican ever!!!!

    QUEEN!!!!

killer queen this lyrik i s ver very famous!!!

  • indeed :) great but not the best

  • He's one of the Best. and u cant deny that. That WOULD be ignorant and naive.

  • YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH EPIC.

  • john deacon is awesome!

  • very good harmony with their voices, they are legend of music

  • incredible.i disagree about elvis.he didnt have a high voice but bery strong pipes.

  • With out a doubt Freedie Mercury is the greatest rock singer of all time (except 4 Elvis) Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin is a close second but because of Freddie Mercury's vocal range he will always be remembered as one of the greatest

  • true, but I don't think Elvis is better

  • He's certainly not a more versatile singer than Freddie, that's for certain.

  • You're right

  • Elvis is the King, Freddie is God

  • amen lol

    freddie forever <3

  • @VanKublai u mean freddie lord high god with queen in the same place

  • You forget Roger Daltrey, and I would take out Elvis and put some black musicians such as Chuck Berry or Little Richard.

  • GREAAAT.

  • have you notice that the part when they sing «she's a killer queen gun powder and geletine dimamite and a laser beam» saund strange? do you think is a play back or something??

  • i dont think..

    isnt playback i think

  • Nah - it's called harmony.

  • Brillant Freddy At 0:40!

    Never Heard it before!

  • i prefer this to the cd..

  • Bongs out an pack it -- this is Magic~

  • GREAT.

  • John at 0: 59 lol

  • the best live ever heard , what a performance!

    Queen's begin!

  • This is a great live performance of this song.

  • Oh, I love Queen live in the 70's (just from watching videos on Youtube, I didn't see them live...).

  • He was different, this is more of a perfomance instead of a huge rock arena gig.

  • What do I know, but I think that Freddy really needs to have short hair. And why the heck is there only half of the song here?

  • The song is just part of a medley they did, the rest of the concert is on An Evening With Queen, 1974-1976 2-DVD set, msg me for details

  • :D No way! i think freddy looks much better with long hair :D

  • I totally agree! I like the 70s look on him.

  • LOVE QUEEN!

  • what a beatiful voice.... freddy where are you? no one in this time is like you....

  • Isnt the guitar solo at a different bit + its different

  • Love the " Anytime " at 0:39, simply AMAZING!

  • People commenting that the sound is pre-recorded need to watch more Queen videos on here so they can recognize for themselves that one of Freddie's amazing qualities was his live singing voice be indistinguishable from studio recordings.

  • WHta happens is this version sounds so good one almost think it's not live :-).

  • This is a live performance, the guitar

solo is different than the album cut, so

    there ya go.

  • brilliant

  • freddie sings it brilliantly in this version yea

  • probably one of the best killer queen version

  • all the backup vocals are perfect in this one

  • QUEEN&THE BEATLES= THE VERY BEST

  • you know i've absolutely your same tastes. I 've the complete discography of both and i'm always indecided

  • from '73 to '79 you can hear john's voice in concerts, only in some passages (as killer queen's "anytime" or in "somebody to love") to fill the harmonies and it sounds good!later he will sing (up to '86) with the microphone at lower volume comparing to Brian and Roger..so why in your opinion he was never featured to sing on cds?he sings some low parts in bohemian rhapsody (you can see it in A Night At The Opera Special Edition), we will rock you, liar and so on...

  • Brian May has confirmed that John Deacon hasn't participated in any of the songs from all the albums.

  • wat about Liar? i beleive he sings in it

or looks like he sings into freddies mic

around the "all day long" part

  • its a music video u retard, it doesnt matter cuz its a playback in music videos, John never sang in studio, but he does live, and no-one can hear him

  • calm down lol no need for name calling either friend im just saying

and last i checked this isnt a music video?

and u just said he does live

and thats exactly wat i said lol

  • no, its a live performance at the Rainbow theatre 1974 w/ audience, tard ;)

  • I have heard John didn't sing live either, that his mic was turned off.

  • fuck you

  • This was just shortly after the release, so no wonder it sounds so good.

  • If only he did the full version.

  • perfect performance by quee

  • Best Live Version Ever!!!!

  • awesome

  • queen en sus mejore años me encantan todos estos conciertos setenteros

    viva queen!!!

  • super:)

  • Freddie Mercury, still has the best voice ever! He passed on 16 years ago, and I still can not find a better front man, with a voice like Freddie. He is and always will be my favorite singer!

  • Does Matt Bellamy of Muse come close? what do you think?

  • Steve Perry... Theres your answer...

  • Steve's great, as is Journey...but still not Freddie

  • If Queen should use any singer it should be George Micheal of Wham! Look up Somebody to Love Queen with Geroge Micheal. He has his range. You'll be impressed.

  • remember that somebody to love is not one of the traks in wich freddie goes so high!and anyway george michael sing somebody to love a half tone down (in G)!

  • unbelievable version!

Thank you so much for posting!!

  • Oh my gosh this is FANTASTIC!

    THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH *GRIN*

  • i agree with every comment posted.. at first i knew it was live but sounded like it came right out of the album. best clear version ever. Queen rules

  • The best singer ever yayyyyyy!!!

  • queen is so awesum words cant even explian it

  • great quality

  • greatest song ever!

  • in your humble opinon!

  • One of their best songs, reminds me of the 70'S in Central America. OH those good old days.

    T.P.
