Tragic yes. I just dont think its fair calling ANYBODY a "piece of shit" for problems you obviously dont and will never understand. Would it be any less offensive to call the generation of our grandparents and parents peices of shit for smoking their lives away ending in a long horrible cancerous death??? Regardless Shannons voice and lyrics were a gift to the world for the short time we had him. If you cant love the singer love the song, its music <3
if i am not mistaken i got this recording off Limewire of something similar years ago. To this day, i don't know where it is from, but it's such a great rendition of the song.
no, but I have seen melon(real melon) with shannon 7 times, also been on their guest list,. i remember watching woodstock 94 live and have watched it many many times. know it off by heart..lol.
AftermarketX being my old profile and knowing what I know now.. when I said that this defines Blind Melon so well I was wrong in a few aspects, there is a lesson learned that everyone should know, and before anyone jumps to conclusions they need to know what was going down. This band changed my life and made me clean, I owe it to them if not Shannon alone to express this... but keep in mind who am I to speak for anyone?
how can you say that, i respect your opinion but i've seen blind melon's better performances, let's face it...he was never clean but in this woodstock performance he was almost with a feet on death...and that it's someting that nobody wanted it...but it's ok if that's what you think...SHANNON FOR EVER!!!
Good point...yet I have to wonder...I mean look at him, really look at him - to me he looks like he's lost his very soul, his spark, his essence. He only seems a shred of his former self, like he's not comfortable in his own skin. Like a renter would treat a cheap apartment in a nice house. It looks like he's dying from the inside out already (and wasnt long after this recording he died) I guess all i'm trying to say is that its a damn shame...rant over.

hey buddy, that statement says a whole lot more about you than it does Shannon Hoon.
sledwith06 2 years ago
I cant beleive you even typed this. Im not even going to explain myself. Spia did a fine job.
Shannon Loved life and his child and his music. He was a normal person with an addicition.
I hope you take the comment back, if not on this forum, at least in your own mind.
thanks

Blind Melon was big at the time.... but they were not colassal like Hendrix or Lennon.

It was a shame that he was lost before he passed on. He died in his sleep so God made sure he did not feel pain

Dude...he died of a cocaine overdose...his death was not painless...

I was at the Woodstock '94 and I have to say that it was probably the BEST performance that I have ever seen by them.

I hate seeing shannon like this, he's just not himself at this stage of his life. Looks like crap too, wish heroin never existed.
noyzone01 4 years ago 5
totaly agree
baez82 4 years ago 3
I hate to say it, but without heroin, some of our favorite songs wouldn't exist.
Not to glorify it or anything. It's bad joo-joo, but a lot of artists use it as a muse/a tool/a topic, whether we know about it or not.
Don't knock it until you try it, but don't try it.
