  • Awesome & Fabulous song of Great Maestro Mohammed Rafi Sahab. He is always superb. His voice is uncomparable, golden, mesmerising, excellent & the best. He is IMMORTAL in this world. His voice can never die. This movie "GUIDE" is a milestone & will be remember for its music & of course for Great Legend Mohammed Rafi Sahab's voice. There is only one Mohammed Rafi Sahab in this world like the SUN & the MOON.

"We salute to you Rafi Sahab".

  • Comment removed

  • this is one song which every woman wants her husband to place his hand on her heart and sing every day to make her sleep happily...the meaning is more beautiful than the tune...hope i get a lovely wife..

  • ....and what a movie!!

  • hey raji

apne sapne ab ek rang na sahi par hum hamesha sang hain miss u bye sim

  • great yar really great...

  • nice

  • VERY HART TOUCHING.

  • oh i just cant get sick of this song.. its so addictive.

  • Oh my God! At last I understand the ending. I was always puzzled by the meaning behind the words 'Sirf mein'! Thank you 'dospek', and your knowledge of Hindi and Hindi relegion. God bless you!

  • great song. great combination of gifted voice and meditative lyrics

  • @shaann11 & @MrShriganganagar : dont forget, buddies, that the one who gave u birth is also a woman :)

  • जरा सोचिये खयाल कीजिये उन दिनों में, शैलेन्‍द्र, सचिन और रफी ने इस सदाबहार गाने को आज हम सब तक पहुँचाने में कितनी तकलीफ और मेहनत की होगी?

  • no offence to the poster... but you have edited the thing and in the ending you show as if they both end up together... which is so not the case which was why the movie was so great... he leaves all bindings with earth to become something higher...

  • He was fasting unto death until the rain felt for the sake of the suffering people. It was the end of the story.

  • LOL... That's a curt way of putting it... but the real ending is when he speaks within himself where he shows two conflicting sides of the soul... The Earthly side which wants to live on and love and enjoy all the pleasure offered in this earth... and then the divine half which declines all these pleasures and realizes that I AM ... He says with his last breath "Sirf Mein hoon... Sirf Mein"... He becomes God as he gets mukthi!

  • Sorry if my comment sounds curt. I do not understand Hindi at all but I love that musical language. Thank you for explaining the end of the story! May you live long with good health, wealth and happiness!

  • oh, Thank you so much and wish you the same!

  • yeah ur rite he dies in the end and then says sirf main sirf main sirf main... personally i didnt like it but im only 19 so it's still happy endings for me... still the songs are great.. all of them.. however guide sans the rafi triad is highly so so.

  • i cant control my emotions when i listen this song. superb

  • I watched this film in Sri Lanka for more than 10 times because I liked this song. I get the same sensational emotion whenever I listen to this song. It is a heartfelt rendition.

  • dev anand unparallel and unsurpassed

  • Rafi Saab at his Brilliant best!!

  • Tere Ye Do "Naina" Chand aur Sooraj Mere......

  • greattttttttttttttttttttttttttttt song like india

  • simply awesome.

  • Congratulations, Bellztoll, you created quite a masterpiece of story line of the movie "Guide" here. Great work! To me this movie was Dev Anaand's Magnum Opus. He proved he can do serious acting and at the same time he chose a difficult theme with philosophical background for a commercial venture. He and his director brother made it a success.

  • Manohari da is a brilliant Arranger who worked with sachinda and then RD, though he played the saxophone for most other music directors as well..in fact most of the saxophone pieces in not just the burmans', but also salilda as well as shankar-jaikishan songs were played by him.he is in his eighties now and stays in Bombay..inspite of indifferent health, he still performs on stage and continues to regale us with his genius at playing the sax! May God give him a long, healthy and happy life!

  • Dear Sir,

    Heartfelt gratitude for this video.

just to comment on the soulful and brilliant saxophone that you have so rightly pointed out in this song, it was played by Shri Manohari Singh, popularly known as Manoharida.

  • Why don't they compose and sing songs like this today? Huh?

  • @electricity0000

Bhai! Ppls r getting Wild so d Music had to be change too

  • Nawab sahib wah !! gana to ha he, aap ne kiya kamal kar diya

  • It is such a difficult song to sing it has awesome MAGICAL TOUCH and this was possible because a guy named SACHIN DEV BURMAN ALIS DADA was living in india he was really a dada in its real sense its rhydm is unique and another guy named MOHAMMED RAFI was also avialable in india this is how this MAGICAL COMPOSITION came into being 03332604292

  • lovely song...simply amazing...

  • S D BURMAN (VERMAN) A SUPERB MUSIC DIRECTOR with SHAILENDRA'S lyrics has all lovely songs in GUIDE,like their previous work in KALA BAZAR.

  • Ah! Luvs dis evergreen song..!

  • oh great

  • taking to great height on hearing

  • awsome huge fan of this movie

  • melodious song sung by great Rafi. and you know what ,when music is by sd burman, there is no match.

  • Rafi Sahib...No one and I repeat no one could have sung this song but you..This is why inspite of the fact that Kishore was dev Anand's favourite yet S D Burman insisted he wanted Rafi Sahib...

  • that's the genius of SB Burman - knowing when to use Kishore and when to use Rafi. And at times, his own voice, like the first song of this movie..

  • Rafi carried the song so well......fantabulous.....one more thing which I noticed in the song just now.....is if you listen to the words "rang" and "sang" (first 35 secs) I feel you will get the Panjabi touch in it......which reminds me of Rafi's Panjabi roots.....

  • Just trying to understand what you said - please don't take offence. How do the words "Rang" and "Sang" in spoken Punjabi differ from regular Hindi? Emphasis or the way they were ended rather "short"? But that is how I would pronounce them in Marathi. I am a Mumbaikar.

  • spoken punjabi has a lot of dielects...usually in punjabi rang still means color and sang means together....

  • movie guide song

  • it was the most fabourat song of one of my dearest friend"aditya"

  • legend of 1960,what a film it is? every corner of life is expressed in it-love,ignorance,spritual-achievements&all

  • Its such a Beautiful Song with full of Romantic Deep Emotions :)

  • Beautfil song and yes indeed todays songs are nothing but rap, pop, english, and exposure. Don't think I don't love Bollywood, I do, but old movies, because of their respect, and classic music, which I can understand, feel, and sing too, without being embarrassed!

  • Extremely well said :)

    Same here :D

  • Superb Rafi No match

  • beautiful song a nostalgic feeling is coming when i heard this after a long while

  • proud to say I have watched this movie 20 time already...and still counting

  • i have watched half the movie on my dvd.. got bored and listened to this song over and over again

  • How can you expect today's bollywood songs to ever give quality like this? During those days lyrics were made first and songs composed to suit them...nowadays it is the other way around. Music composers make the tunes and lyricist fits the words... also earlier the composer, singer, director and actor spent time together for each song. Does that happen now..I doubt.

  • Now songs come out of assembly lines.

  • @jayzminem It does not. Instead Lead actor is present at recordings!

  • Dear Ranasbg,

I'm not even half your age.

you stole words from my mouth.

This song, "to quote bible" fills my heart with joy.

Such a soothing effect is hardly found these days. Might be A R Rehmaan in Swades or Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy in Taazre Zameen Par comes a little closer,

Sachin Dev Burman remains a magician, who will be missed.

  • Bollywood buck up. Bring passion and everlasting music back.. I am 49 and heard this song about 35 years ago and it stlll leaves me with wonderful memories - the music, lyrics and the singing is simply wonderful.

  • what a song,I love all the songs from guide and listen them now and then

  • what a song.

  • what a song..love it..

  • Vijay Anand picturized songs in his movies very well. And with legends like SD Burman and Rafi sahab, it doesn't get any better than this!

  • I watched this movie at age 18 and at 55 still like the songs and watch some parts of movie, I think this is one of the best movie of bollywood and songs are unforgetable and still mesmeremised me

  • Mohd.Rafi: 1924 to 1980 till forever.

There never was a greater singer and there never will be.

  • come on bollywood....we need stuff like this again....we need this magic, this voice, these directors, we need movies like these again

  • sailendra magical words, burman da's mastery rafi's eternal voice

  • Thank you 'bellztoll' for sharing this great creation with us...We are blessed to watch this pinnacle of emotional film-making!!!

Words are just not enough to express the feelings that this movie and its songs bring forth in hearts..

  • Completely agree boss. Words are not enough to express the feelings that this movie brings.. Amazing ..

  • this is the second hindi lovesong, the most beautyful one reminding again life in 60s and early 70s wow....I just love it and listens and listens.....and listen

  • such a lovely song....full of love n all the deep feelings.., it makes me think of home.

of my parents, i can imagine my dad singing this song...,

    EVERGREEN!!

  • can anybody add this song for me " katon ke nich ke ye anchal " it's from Guide but I can't find it , thank you so much , I'd like to send it to my sister !

  • search it with "aaj phir jeene ki tamanna hai"

  • Most of the songs from Guide-movie are availble right on You Tube

  • what a dream song!!

  • you know, this shows Bollywood you can have a film with great songs and a great story.

The songs are all very nice and beautiful.

This is one of those films that are just great to look at.

  • This song and Din Dhal Jaaye from the same movie make me want to cry...not because I'm upset or something but because of gratitude at being blessed with being able to listen to this music. Rafi and SD Burman in top form - immortal stuff!

  • outstanding.....i lov itt

  • This magic can never be recreated!

  • This movie is the peak for all people involved. Dev Anand, SD Burman, Rafi Sahab all gave their best movie, music and vocals respectively. It just can't get better than this!!

  • MOHAMMAD RAFI was a true singer..no one can beat his voice.he isthe best !!

  • They don't make songs like these anymoe. Sad, that Bollywood is losing its touch! This sis what you call a song. Rafiji sounds brilliant. RIP Rafiji!

  • You read my mind !...These are evergreen songs...Which never dies...

  • you damn right man...hindhustani has such melodious tunes..however bollywood which is so money driven...hasbeen sexing up its films and westernising its unique hindustani music..saddening

  • I agree with you. They haven't even spared the Korean's...the song from race (pehli nazar) was copied from a Korean drama.Music composers like shanker jai krishan and R D burman are hard to find nowdays. Indian music is just going down the drain.

  • Great tribut to rafi sahab on his 28th death anniversary ......

    Kala Darpan (Regd)

  • Superb. Can someone please post another great song of Rafi "Jhoom Ke Ga Yun Aaj Mere Dil, Raat To Guzre Subho Na Aye". I am going crazy trying to find this song over the internet.

  • Lovely song...Rafi sahib zindabad

  • Devanand and Waheeda are born to play this role in Guide. It,s a lifetime achievement.

  • ultimate is the wrd

  • "THE BEST EVER LINE LAKH MANALE DUNIYA, SAATH NA YE CHHUTEGA......ake mere hathon main,Hath na ye chhutega....O mere jeevan saathi...."

Love every moment of the movie..

  • This is absolutely class composition. Just brilliant.

    Yagya Rai, Kathmandu

  • i think sd did the music for guide, not rd..

  • voice range of mohammed rafi great ...!

  • In Cannes Film Festival-2008 this movie was screened under the classic film category. Incidentally, Guide had also been selected as India's official entry to the Oscars in 1965.This movie has achieved this recognition . I am so happy for this.

  • Mohd. Rafi has sung thousands of solos in hindi films but none has moved me more than this song . To this the legendary Sachin Dev Burman and the great Vijay 'Goldie' Anand have also contributed along with lyricist Shaillendra, Devanand and Waheeda Rehman !

    Atul

  • such a beautiful song.

  • absoultely wonderful compilation!! thnk u very much....wish u had added d climax too...gud job!!

  • best song!!!

  • Guide - what a novel and what a movie! Exactly what collaborative art is meant to be (IMHO). I love the fact that how Raju is a "guide" to all other...be it Raju a physical guide for Rosy's husband, a lover and professional guide to Rosy and finally a spiritual guide to the common people...yet for most of his life he is unable to find the true destination of his mind/body/soul. A guide in search of a guide!

  • Well said!

  • Undoubtedly, one of the best songs ever. More than the song, I appreciate the creator of this video who has summarized the movie "Guide". Good job!

  • Fantastic song

  • I have no words to describe the effect of this song on the senses. These words are to say that no word can describe the beauty of this song.

  • GOD some racist ppl! 'pakis would never reach close' as if that's true. where did pakistani ppl come in from this song? and its nt pakis its pakistanis would u lyk it if pp, called u indies? and no im nt a pakistani but wat some ppl down there said i did nt lyk

  • Well Said, Swaranika. BTW even I am not from Pakistan. Somewhere one by one we have to break this curse of hatred.

  • Wow great movie and only movie for which dev saab got filmfare award. strange but its fact.

  • filmfare? hehehehe he got president award and not only him.....8 president awards were given to this film makers! It's an all time record!

  • The best! An an intelligent compilation. Thanks!

  • these songs remind me of what indian music is really supposed to be and how beautiful our past and heritage is.

  • Fantastic movie with Waheeda and Dev, Guide.

  • I wish someone could translate this for me:( its such a beautiful .please please

  • [Main verse]

Your dreams my dreams are of one colour

Where ever fate takes us we will be together.

  • i'd love fiza.. and this song is for her.... -- ahmed.

  • Seeing and listening this song, I really enthralled, so sweet melodious with vocal intensity of Late Mohammed Rafi Sahab. GOD BLESS with my profound feelings. And my sincere thanks to the owner of this collection, who brought wonderful memories back. Thanks enormously, and keep up to good work. -- Imran Hampshire, UK
