But a lot of these 60's guys carried over to the 70's, some emerged in the 70's and the overall musicianship was far greater in the 70's. I mean, c'mon...Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Bobby Womack, The Temptations, Teddy Pendergrass, Al Green (And Ray Charles who was around for what seemed like forvever). I mean, Wilson, Otis and Sam Cooke were great though.

God, now this is the stuff.... The real stuff.... I cant believe how clear the picture and sound quality combined is from this era... One of the two or usually both are terrible... this is excellent and hes great live!

This is punk rock at it's finest! (don't take this literally). But seriously, 60's soul singers went harder than any other musician from any other era,admit it our parents or grand parents generation was way more bad ass than us (if you grew up after the 60's).

@renelemieux 60's soul was great, and those guys really put some strength into their singing, but I think that soul music was taken to a higher plane in the 70's.

@KrfNYC2 I disagree, but I respect your opinion... There was more of an abundance of "Soulful" singers in the 60's, but there were those who went beyond 70's very effectively, Al Green to name one. 70's R&B in general was a lot less intense though as something like this...

@renelemieux I see what you're saying, In the 60's there seemed to be more sweat being shed over singing. But a lot of these 60's guys carried over to the 70's, some emerged in the 70's and the overall musicianship was far greater in the 70's. I mean, c'mon...Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Bobby Womack, The Temptations, Teddy Pendergrass, Al Green (And Ray Charles who was around for what seemed like forvever). I mean, Wilson, Otis and Sam Cooke were great though.
