  • i hate this movie and loved it but i lost it NO

  • I watched this move at school. I was so distracted by how handsome emillio was.

  • white lead saves the plenteous ethnic people, what a surprise

  • @daniyellowjello

    it isn't a "surprise", it's a true story.

  • thats bob dylan "Let Me Die in My Footsteps Lyrics" if yall wanna to know

  • Would love to have seen this scene redone in the tv series with annie potts and her students.

  • What is this movie about?!

  • HEY! Were you watching this while leaning on your left elbow.

  • @xWhiteAce holy shit im pulling the web cam out of my laptop.

  • shit movie

  • CHEESE MOSA

  • @TheAdnaan88 I was gonna comment that and I am hispanic! lol thanks:)

  • @TheAdnaan88 What does that mean? a cheese samosa?

  • Every guy wanted to be Emilio and have his girl Marisela. He was the coolest.

Rest in Peace to Wade Dominguez (the guy who played him).

  • This is mhy joint

  • Gangsters paradise music video???

  • Great lines...

I would like to hear this in my English class

I would like to see foolish people's faces

  • I like their lesson. They're talking about poetry, and they use Bob Dylan's lyrics!! Is that awesome!??!

  • héhe_Ì_fëél_sö_lÒnËlY_tôDãY

  • i saw this movie b4. Did you know: FREEDOM WRiTTER copy this sequel. Aw Shucks!

  • @KjrHellkules but 'freedom writers' was based on a true story tho. and so was this one, so you can't say that one copied the other..

  • @DaWiFeY09 Yes! but they did copy this movie tho. Real life or not

  • This movie is, for me, one of the best ever!!! And, i have to admit, i cry every time at the end! :-)

Michelle Pfeiffer is awesome in this movie!

  • Sometimes when I'm teaching, lead guitar stars playing in the background before coming to a crescendo when students answer a question. It can be distracting at times, but you know, it makes for interesting lessons.

  • WOW the guy at 1:46 is smoking! Just look at his stare, it's like he's trying to read trough the teacher. I wish someone will look at me like that some day (with love).

Is this character's name Emilio? I see people commenting on a gorgeous guy who died. Seriously, who are you talking about?

And what's the song playing at the end?

  • @poufkimashoula yeah Emilio that died

in the movie ,died in reality aswell.

His name is Wade Domingez, he died in 1998.

  • thumbs up if this reminds you of your highschool

  • 16 assholes did not got admission in this high-school

  • I love how she only has ONE CLASS and there are only like 20 STUDENTS in the class!

The students are all QUIET and TALK, ONE AT A TIME! Nobody interrupts her when she's talking!

In REAL LIFE, she would have 5 classes with up to 40 students each! Students would be talking, texting, listening to their iPods, etc.

She would also be required to follow a set of CURRICULUM, PACING CHART, & ASSESSMENT guidelines! She would attend a zillion staff meetings.

  • the song is the best part of the movie

  • The guy in 1:10 looks like Eazy E :)

  • @XDAlex123 Fatter...

  • @XDAlex123 loooooooooooooooooooooooool XD

  • i recently saw this movie, i thought it would be more darker and serious shes so week.

  • when for first time I watched the video, I didn't expect Emilio dead.

  • emilio is fucking gorgeous

  • I would totally have my kids with Emilio and then some. Maybe in heaven lol!

  • pls can you tell me song name which starts rolling from 3:18

  • @MiroSSSc It doesn't have a name, its called "dangerous minds theme" on youtube.

  • if all of these actors weren't well into their thirties i might've been able to take this seriously

  • I love this movie. It's a strong, inspirational story.

  • Fuck those students. I'll never be like one of them. I love school. And I'm not a nerd.

  • You are a nerd.

  • @twizix i rather be a nerd than a fag like you.

  • @TheRickychengshow Good. You stay in education dude. It's the only way to guarantee you won't work in Macdonalds for the rest of your life. I love education, too, and I'm thankful I'm getting one.

  • @IronbreakerFTW indeed. im adding you as a friend

  • @TheRickychengshow Its sometimes not the students fault its where they are raised and where they come from, they believe they have no choice. Its not if you love education its depends on the teacher doing their job. Thats what the movie is about, Teachers doing their job. Dont damn the movie students because she does help them learn.

  • @runinzeno88 dude its their choice if they wanna do drug or go to school. and yes they do have a choice bitch. and also, drop some balls. if you have any

  • ME 5TH!

  • totally agree... i also landed here right after watching dangerous wands LOLZ

  • mee too thats so cool XDDDDD

  • @berzelius

    LOLZ ME TOO

  • dangerous WANDS RULEEE

  • you'd be surpised..

  • There are far too many movies about strange teachers helping ghetto kids make something of themselves...

  • @jbean0 bill burr has a whole comedy bit about movies like this

  • @jbean0 yea but this came out before most of em

  • It does happen sometime though. I should know!! It only takes one teacher to show that they care to turn your whole life/education around!! :)

  • @HazelEyedErica i now the feeling if someone actually cares u want to learn because they actually show it

  • 90's is it a good place to live

  • Anyone know what poem they were talking about?

"When I go to my grave, my head will be high.."

  • bob dylan

let me die in my footsteps

  • lol great movie

  • This movie wasnt that bad.

It was ok. But dangerous wands seems better.

  • heck yeah

  • LMAO!

  • @JONstradamus wtf is dangerous wands?yes i just replied to a 1 y/o comment

  • I hated the movie "up the down staircase" so why would I like this?

  • i prefer dangerous wands to this, but im just sayin....

  • I jsut saw that vid and I wish it was really a movie!

  • LMAO SAME

  • I remember watching this movie back then. Very good movie for inspirations.

  • lol?

  • this is why i hate spics

  • don't worry, we hate you too, asshole.

  • i know me too!!!

  • oh cool, thanks beano

  • i like this movies message but this scene was kindve allowing society to get away with all the oppression it has placed on poor communities. we actually are victims of oppressors! if there were no victims then it allows the oppressor to get away with what they have allowed to happen...that is all the poverty, corrupted mass media, violence, and poor health and education in certain communities...we are targets, however, we can CHOOSE to win this battle of good and evil - education is a means.

  • u are right about that

  • you are only a victim or a target if you choose to be. Going out and selling drugs is not a good idea if you want to have a good life. Sooner or later your going to go to jail or be shot.

White People are not out to get you.

  • life is a lot more complex than that. we are influenced historically, politicaly, socially, institutionally, culturally etc, these factors have been around for centuries. opression doesnt come in the moment, sometimes you can be born TO IT. therefore, how can you blame a child whose a 'child soldier'?? i dont think they have much of a choice? life is wayyy to complex to blame ONE PERSON.

  • But child soldiers do have a choice whether to hold on to hope or to lose it. Hope keeps anyone moving on. I'm reading a book by a ex-female child soldier and she said that's what kept her and many others going.

  • @cmaltzan or lose it to your ex under cali state law.

  • The song is This is the Life. The artists singing are Wendy and Lisa.

  • this movie is very inspiring and what is the song's name in this clip

  • it´s "Gangsta´s Paradise" enjoy

  • no not the theme, the song that plays in this vid

  • that latino guy was so Hot!!!

you know, the guy that got shot by the gang

  • one of my favorite movies, its epic

  • Great scene

  • this is a great example of "at-risk" students. She challenges their minds. Great job.

  • This movie made me cry!

  • So...is this what we have to show for integrating American high schools?

  • Wow, it's a movie.

  • great movie

  • Great Movie

  • R.I.P EMILIO .u will always be missed .GR8T movie

  • "i will not carry my self down to die if i go to my grade my head will be high"

"i will not go down on the ground cuz somebody till me that deatj is coming round"

  • Gangsta's paradise was a great song, it took me here, actually. And i think i have to search for this movie, too. Did this have any Oscar's or something?

  • no it wasn't highly acclaimed by any of the critics but in my opinion it was a great movie!

  • Classic. Freedom writers was just a knock off, I wish I had a teachers like her in high school most of the teachers at my school just passed the kids to get rid of them, they really didnt take the time . She had her own way of teaching

  • Dangerous Minds and Freedom Writers were both based in true stores that happen to be simular Freedom Writers was no a Knock off.

  • Dangerous minds was better than freedom writers

  • gangstas paridise is what got me into hiphop i was like 10

  • One of my favorite movies ever. Michelle Pfeiffer was brilliant.

  • Too many schools are really like this.

  • Ain't that the truth. Look at cities like Memphis, Compton, Detroit, Miami, I don't need to go on with big urban setting. Our system does not try to help lower-social economic and working classes from the schools, employment, and family. That's why these kids like the ones in Dangerous Minds, always choose the streets than staying in school to get out the situations they were born into.

  • great movie

  • excellent scene, excellent film!! love it! i am teacher and i learnt a lot from it and from the real character of Loanne Johnson.

  • This one way better than Freedom Writers.

  • 1995 in northern california. good times. too bad this movie was shot in palo alto and this still looks the same and its 2009. damn i miss those days. norte y sur shit was at its peak. now... its just whatever

  • wheres the clip of that hispanic who says "a chicken please.... a whole one"

  • I <3 Amilio...sexi

  • funny how in the ghetto fonzie is the bad ass that everybody follows

and what is that random patriotic burn out doing there 1:31

    haha

    this movie is great

  • wow freedom writers totally copied this movie

  • Yes it did. I'm glad someone else realizes that.

  • Loads of films were spawned from this, it was a smash hit in it's time.

  • Its unrealistic because she wasnt gangbanger by bunch of black students

  • does anybody know the song thats playing in the background??

  • towards the end of the clip?

ultra regular corny background music possibly recycled from top gun

look up underscore for dangerous minds

the tracks are usually named for the scene in the movie

    it would be like

    "amillio makes the choice"

    haha

strange compilations like this do exist on the internet somewhere

  • Uhm Mralanv before u say indian invaded the Uk . U have 2 think about in the old days , The english peeps came 2 india and invaded there country . Thats why they speak that well english there...

  • this is almost like freedom writers

  • its the same thing but older

  • and better

  • no freedom writers is like this this came out clearly in 1995

  • shutup all of you. this movie is one of the greatest.

  • i think when you americans refer to latino" you don't mean the latin people like french, italian, spanish. n etc .. But you mean the mexican people themselves.they have flocked into your country just like indians have invaded the Uk lol

  • not one of pfeiffer's best...i must say. it would've been much better if she didn't have to use that southern accent

  • i agree readmit

  • She's right, because unless you're born a slave in a 3rd world country, are handicapped or mentally retarded there is never an excuse to amount to nothing or to join gangs, sell drugs or be a loser in life. Our grandparents endured more pain than we ever will and they struggled on, but we're too busy making excuses to be lazy and bums.

  • Not when the black people in America are treated like shit and forced to live in ghettos. How do you expect them to turn out? Do you expect them to simply welcome the Europeans (who fucked them over time and time again) with open arms? They have become the products of their environment and I blame the Europeans who caused this to happen to both the Africans and the Indigenouse Americans (or Latinos as they are now called).

  • no u are wrong i know europeans treated blacks and latinos bad, i am latina, i am still discriminated against but u need to take the opportunities and make use of them instead of feeling sorry for yurself , just do it.. get that education so you can get out of the getto like i did...

  • There's no such thing as latino you stupid bitch. The way I see it there are two kinds. The ones who are descendants of Indigenouse Americans and the kind who are descendesnt of Evil European murderes. The Indigenouse ones are treated like shit in their own land by the European ones. Second of all I'm very educated. For one thing I spell and punctuate correctly, how about you? Third we don't have slums like yours in Canada.

  • excuse me, but you can't be very educated if you can't spell it properly, it's actually spelled indigenous. there is no e at the end of it. and for the record, i don't see what it has to do with you what people call themselves. its a free world. and there are slums all over the world including canada. it's no better than the rest of the world. so stick that in your pipe and smoke it. oh, one more thing, i'm scottish and proud of it. i know who my ancestors are. do you???

  • lol, thats funny, i didnt know that you SPELLED indigenous like that

    :D

  • You're just a stupid sellout,a Westernized whore. Unless you're one of those stupid "latinos" who doesn't like to call yourself white, even though your people probably came from Europe. You're just confused about what race you are.

  • look you idiot you think you are so educated then why do you talk like the lowest of the low, at least i can express myself without insulting you. i have no need to.and yes i know what race "our people" are. and latino is a true word go back to your canadian school and check a dictionary you stupid

  • No latino is not a race. There are 2 kind
