steve perry left the band. arnel just picked up where steve left off. he is not trying to sing better than steve perry. what is the big deal about arnel joining the band. journey will be able continue to create wonderful music with a voice that sounds similiar to steve. these guys had to do something or the band would have fallen apart. i say they found a great rendition to steve.

Arnel can sing; no question, but he is yelling. No passaggio, and no breathing control. Steve is a tenor altino. Got any idea how hard that is to pull off? Perry has a 5 octave range, but is able to soar higher. I would love to see Arnel sing More Than a Feeling by Boston. Hit Brad Delp's 11 note climb (in just one breath), and Brad's 6 octave range and I will bake Arnel some cookies!

Journey had a successful comeback. the fans had a great summer with them. I wont get tired watching them perform every summer. Thye hve all the great members in their own specialty intruments. Arnel is so lucky. He had found an established famous band. He should just stick with the Journey and fans. Forget about Lani, Sharon and Asap. you will get sidetrack. Journey gave you the break. They are only riding with you fame. They did not know you before.
Journey with Steve Perry was my Generation. I even saw them in Concert. I still love Steve Perry but it was SP's decision NOT TO REJOIN Journey thus JRNY had no alternative but to find another Lead Singer in 1997. They even struck out twice with the 2 past singers and then they perused YouTube and discover a small Pilipino fellow with a awesome voice who is a big fan of SP and JRNY. This time they finally found the right singer to fill SP's shoes. Journey has been reborn via AP. BRAVO!
