Yes, defend the universally human laws of no murder and no stealing as if their existence is solely thanks to Christianity, don't start with the clearly religious commandments. Doing so would prove you wrong, selfish, and bigoted. Can't allow that to happen. So the parents say the only way they can teach kids not to kill or steal is to first tell them that there is an invisible magic old man in the sky watching them, and that this magic sky daddy wants them to spend their time praising him, keep holy his Sabbath day (under threat of the death penalty, as per the Bible), that there should be no other gods before him, and they should not use his name in vain.
