  • I know that 1000 views on a video is not a big deal to most, but I want to thank all that watched. So...THANK YOU and keep on brewing!!!

  • When I started, I was sparging while simultaneously collecting wort. After reading more on fly sparging, I now open the valve on the mash tun and let the wort drain until the liquid is just above the grain bed then I start the sparge. I make sure that the sparge water stays an inch or more above the grain bed. I adjust the sparge rate as needed and either speed up or slow it down. Ideally the sparge water addition should match the flow rate out of the mash tun. Thank you for the inquiry, Cheers

  • Do you let the wort drain down into the kettle until it gets about 2 inches from the grain bed, and then start sparging? Or do you start sparging and let it get down to that point and then slow it down?
