Not entirely true. When the slaves left Africa, they almost certainly never returned. The voyage from Africa to the New World took months, so the feed back on the treatment of the slaves wasn't easy to come by.

However, when some of the slavers DID hear about the barbaric treatment of the slaves, they became slave abolishionists e.g. Madam Efunroye Tinubu.
