  • jealous of the jeweler i would have did it for free

  • What happened with all the props afterwards? Would make a fortune in an auction..

  • They r the best movies ever made evrer!!!

  • I loooves J. R. R. Tolkien and the LOTR books and movies.

  • For me its the best movie/'s ever made....everything is in it [comedy, romance, action ]....16 oscars were rewarded. J.K.K. Tolkien made a fantastic world....and Peter Jackson made it reality. I cant wait for Hobbit....i will deffinatly watch the premiere.

  • @ThePavkecar its J.R.R tolkien :D

  • There are so many ways this movie/triology could have gone wrong, the acting, special effects, the plot and sooo many things..

But thanks to genius and hardworking people like jackson and all his staff this movie is definitely one of the best movies in the history of mankind period!!

  • was one of the ring props really stolen?

  • What was the budget for the movies. The props are great they almost literally brought the movie to life, must have been expensive though.

  • i love to live in lord of the ring world and i wish i had that bilbo bagggin house...

  • music still chills me

  • wow a big crossbow used by urak hai's 4:20

  • I do not even have enough money on my bank account to take a shot with a camera like that on a helicopter @ 5:26 till 5:29 Lol.

  • Why do they need two different sizes of everything?

  • @thexinfactor The hobbits are different sizes than average people however in real life, the people who play the hobbits are the size of average people. The props had to be designed to be scaled to these people. For example a person who is 4 feet tall has a different perspective of a person who is 6 feet tall

  • @thexinfactor forced perspective, to make it look like actors playing the hobbits were actually smaller (all the actors are normal-sized)

  • For everyone who love these information, I would buy the "Special Extended"-Version

Sooooo much documentation, which is too much for Youtube =D

  • I wonder if they sold everything they made...

  • @Jojogirl641 People on Wiki wrote that they were using objects for the movie The Hobbit again.

  • This is complete opposite to the star wars prequels where everything was shot against blue screen. this is how it's should be made

  • 1:36 huge ring 0_o

  • Where did you get this documentary?? I have all the editions and I dont remember this video!

  • @alexmaglor08 It's part of the appendices from fellowship of the ring. Thoroughly enjoyable to watch.

  • man, why can't this world really exist? :P

  • I actually think they went overkill on a lot of the props. Seriously, who's gonna notice inch-tall patterns on an extra's armor during the half second he's getting shot on screen?

  • @Theriot6592 thats what makes these movies what they are. the greatest movies of all time.

  • Didn't know Charles Manson worked on this film...

  • best film eva!

  • very good life lesson isn't it? if you 're going to do something, do it well,it 'll pay off in the end...fantastic movie .can't wait to see THE HOBBIT -D

  • this is the only movies which is just as good as the book

  • @Venaasflash I think so too, I didnt mind at all that they had quite some diffrences. I loved them both.

  • Did they sell all this stuff later... lol, you could 20x the price of a single glass if it was made for and shown in these movies!

  • i love the film because of the details !

u can watch the movie a 100 time and u will see everytime a new thing that u din't see at the last time ...

  • nmnm

  • ghbnh

  • I LOVE PETER JACKSON! He's so sweet! ^_^

  • That's really interesting :) I always thought the One Ring looked like my dad's wedding ring.

Great movies, the attention to detail REALLY pays off.

  • fdxggggc

  • yeah...makes it even less understandable how things like frodo having a scratch on the left side of his face while it is on the right in the next shot could have happened...sometimes the small things are those you should concentrate upon...

  • Don't think new line gave him free hands. Peter j. had a very structured concept and also some animations to give them a Picture how the movie should Look like. And New line was involved in the process As well.

  • i freacking love all about the movie i love the movie

  • I've seen good movies, but this trilogy is AWESOME.

  • i have seen all three of the films atleast 20 times not including the cinama

  • I watch all 3 of the movies every day i am truley a Lord Of The Rings NERD!!!

  • @CalvinJuanTV you should not watch it for like a year and then watch all three again. It's what I did and I almost died, but I was so happy after I got to watch them.

  • @CalvinJuanTV All 3 movies would take a little less than 12 hours. I doubt that you do xD

  • @CalvinJuanTV r u serious

they are good movies but thats too much

  • Elijah :)

  • This movie like has to be my Fav. Elijah an the rest are such good Actors an Actress.. :)) <3's!!

  • "Greatest Fantasy Epic of our Time!"

the book rightly deserves the title and one of the Best Movie ever made-thanks to the whole cast and crew of LOTR for bringing middle-earth to life

  • the lord of the rings is my best of the best movies i'v ever seen and now i know why

i's amazing how the did every thing fantastic

  • imagine how the fuck it cost for all :P

  • It's absolutely nutty how much stuff they made from scratch for this movie, I mean they probably could have gotten away with using stuff that was already made, but they didn't do that, they went the extra mile to put all the details on and really make it special.

  • That's the sign of a good movie.

  • Someone know when "The Hobbit" release?

  • they say in 2011. filming should start at the end of this year or so. too long though...ha

  • before Duke Nukem Forever :>

  • I'm super proud of the writer and the director! Gee, I wonder of they're related? :D

  • Who's the bigger genius? Tolkien or Peter Jackson?

  • Both of them

  • Tolkien =) He was teacher in Oxford, created 2 languages, own world and so on :P

  • Ah that was too hard! I think it's not a question!! Use your head! Lord of the Rings has languages, history and shit. Who wrote it? :)

  • J. R. R. Tolkien is the author of the books. he wrote it during world war 2

    awesome dude 'eh!

  • XDXD I know!!! I'm a fuckin LotR Fan!! A mean who wrote it J.R.R. Tolkien or Peter Jackson? XD But your comment was funny

  • lol, J.R.R. wrote it. Peter Jackson was the director of the movie :P. Two awesome dude thou... i'll be the next awesome Hollywood director and producer.. i got a 'wicked' script! i bet u'll be the next f**** fan of my movie.. "The Golden Claim"

  • Whoever wrote the screenplay.

  • XD You don't understand what I want to say right? XD Jesus! XD It's funny!

  • well, Tolkien wrote the book, invented an elvish language, came out with great names of places or character while Peter Jackson knows how to do the design, the best location, pick the best actor or actress. I think they're both tide! :DD

  • I have to say they're different. Tolkien wrote the story, built this deep history all the way from the beginning (which I believe took 15 years) gave his entire thing meaning. Jackson made a fantastic and beautiful film based on the book. And I think that's the genius. He adapted what was already there, translated it, if you will. In a way this is harder than making your own thing. They're both awesome in their own way, but I'll go with Tolkien.

  • the most amazing feature in cinema history.......you aint seen nothing........im the biggest fan of the trilogy.......

  • it was totally worth the hard work the most legendary films ever made

  • you're definitely a 100% right about that.. well, i hope mine will be the 2nd. I'm a script writer! wish me luck!

  • legendary trilogy the best fantasy movie in history. It's so amazing to see they did so hard work to make everything come to life

  • newzealand forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • thats why it took em 4 or 5 yrs to do this befor announcing the movie

  • @peasouplaura it obviously turned out to be worth it

  • thats really cool. i would never have the patients to do that.

  • Lol...so many things,down to the detail.Great job they did:D

  • wow really cool, i had assumed lotr films would take that kind of work, very good

  • Greatest movie ever!

  • The fake name Dom used was Hans Jensen, very similar.

That would be very interesting to see how the props are made.

  • probably the most expensive trilogy made in the history of film making.

  • they were very into detail

  • The guy with the wedding ring looks a little too self proud.
