  • @Blanchardrs I'm a college student and have a very limited budget. I spent about $800 on everything (2 speakers, sub, receiver, bluetooth adapter, sub cable, speaker wire, banana plugs). The speakers are perfect for parties, get incredibly loud, and don't lose quality. There are 2 bookshelf speakers and a midrange speaker that I do not have but would make the whole system a 5.1 surround sound. I went to Bose and asked for something in the $600-$800 price range and they showed me an iPod dock.

  • how do these compare to a bose lifestyle system

  • @wtf0804 Yea, Best Buy does have them. I have yet to find a Best Buy that has them connected and working properly though.

  • Are these the ones that best buy has?

  • @trentywenty2 Yep

  • What subwoofer do you have with this? the SW-8?

  • @zackthemuscleman I would say that the Pioneer speakers will not disappoint and you cannot go wrong. My first set had a problem and Pioneer sent me 2 brand new speakers in just over 2 weeks. I wanted to stick with all Pioneer for the speakers, sub, and receiver. And I like the looks of the Pioneer floorstanding speakers a lot more than the Cerwins.

  • Would you say that your pioneer speakers are better than a set of cerwin vega's?

  • i have those and a klipsch sub 12 wit a 820k

  • Bought these at best buy two days ago and am running them to my Yamaha Rx V471 and they sound really good. Glad I got them for sure, video to come.

  • @Anastasiofan You cannot go wrong with these. Make sure you invest in high quality speaker wire. Mine have almost 0 feedback when they're on, no sound is playing, and the volume is maxed. I bought a spool of 50 feet Monster Cable wiring (unrated gauge) and I bought Monster Cable banana plugs, which I definitely recommend. You can get it much cheaper from Amazon than Best Buy. The subwoofer cable is also Monster Cable it costed me 50 dollars from Best Buy, also check online for that.

  • Listened to these today at Best Buy and sounded really good. The salesman was trying to get me to buy the Polk Audio bookshelf speakers but these were so much better.

  • Nice set of speakers, Im planning on buying them soon.

  • @Anastasiofan I think the receiver is 110 watts per channel or something like that. The speakers are rated for 130 watts.

  • @Anastasiofan Thanks, the speakers are incredible. They get extremely loud, don't distort, and always impress people.

  • @adeperro How many watts is your receiver?

  • @Anastasiofan They have super clear sound. The only time they don't sound perfect is when the subwoofer is overpowering. I'm extremely happy with the speakers. I use bluetooth to connect with my computer or iPhone or iTouch. Connecting to the receiver via bluetooth makes it easy to change music (great for parties and keeps people away from the whole T.V. stand) and there is no distortion at all. There is a slight sound lag when I watch a video on the computer when it's connected to the speakers.

  • How are these with movies? Im probably going to pick these up after Christmas to go with a Yamaha V471 Receiver and a Panasonic 50 inch plasma.

So you're using bluetooth with this? Are you losing any quality? I'm probably going to hook my mac book pro up to the receiver and just use the apple remote app so the music runs wired the whole way.

They seem like they're pretty sick by the way.

  • @ChoosePazuzu There is a decent amount of bass. Enough that you can hear bass but it's less than expected because the speakers have 2 - 5" mini subs, each. The speakers alone sound incredible, the subwoofer just adds a ton of extra bass.

  • How is the bass on the speakers without the subwoofer?
