  • @TrueStangerBoy Its a high compression motor at 11.0/1 so tthats how it gains alot of the power im guessing. The prob is you cant do a forced induction setup unless you get a strong aftermarket block.

  • Bone stock T-5 and I only have a Jegs Tremic T-5 now with the 2.95 first gear cause I went from 3.73 to 4.10 now

Recently I bought a .30 over 302 block and was considering building a 347 because thats what most of the mustang guys around here run with pretty good results. I wonder if a 331 would be better

  • Nice car man. I have a 331 with afr 185s, fti cam, edelbrock rpm2. 10.6:1 comp. Hopefully I get to make around the same numbers you make. My car is running extremely rich and needs a tune bad lol.

  • i take it you have to run race fuel in this car to prevent it from spark knocking or atleast run octane boost what are the cc size of those heads you have and the compression of the pistons your running

  • nope 93 pump gas and FYI a bone stock corvette LS1 is 11:0 compression, i'm 10:8:1 185cc heads no octane boost i only run 14 Deg. base timing. I have a rollor cam and fuel injection.

  • I also run 11.5@120 all day long in 11.50 index class

  • 11:1 compression and only 385 at the tire dude you got something seriously off on your motor couse you shuold be over 400 hp at the tire atleast 425 couse the ford people took a 302 with its stock cam and with the 165 afr and a set of high performance headers and intake and 1.6 rockers they made 400 hp at the crank on a stock bottom end your science on your motor is wrong some whare, are you running a roller cam or hyd flat tappet

  • lol I love when people have no idea what there talking about. I made a mistake it's 10:8:1 comp. when you learn the difference between a 331 and 347 and rollor vs solid cam, FI vs carb numbers and maybe research other N/A 331 dyno's you will see my car is right where it should be. It's also 100% stock ECU never been tuned.

  • Where did you learn your science. I have a 331 built to almost the same spec. Only I have Rousch 200 series heads on mine with a comp cams xtreme energy cam. I pulles 385 hp and 379 lbs of torque. Getting 400 hp with a stock bottom end and cam with a 302 would be almost in possible unless 20lbs of boost or compression from hell. BDS Racing Radcliff Ky

  • The 306 I am building with anderson ford cam and 190cc tfs fast as cast heads should pull around 350hp to the wheels and be good for high 11's low 12's in the 1/4 mile... It's all about what works together, You can have the best flowing heads in the world and if you don;t have the right cam,headers and induction you wont be making shit!

  • It means the owner took his hand and gently patted the engine, in a stroke like fashion.. JK!

    A stroked engine means its cubic inch displacement was increased by increasing the length of the piston stroke by changing the crankshaft.

  • thanks man, But remember don't buy a cam for sound Build your engine around it the cam is very important. With a cam this size I have to keep the car above 1800rpms cursing or it will buck and the power band is 2500-6500 so if your cars power maxes out at like 5200 this isn't the cam for you.

  • I've had the car for a while first I myself built a 306 for it few years ago then wanted to go bigger, But still N/A so I picked all the parts I wanted in the engine and the way I wanted it built and had this guy do it. I don't trust 347 pistons rings are to close to the oil ring go 331 if you want it to last a long time.
