it isn't the japanes to blame, it;s the video game companies out here in the states to blame, since the NFL and NBA and other popular titles take higher priority, and these so called game sites give games like Gundam a bad score despite the fact they never actually played the game
The reason why they are as you put it "assholes" is because the United States have no respect for their fandom and with their bad reviews of the games (presumably for being primitive and not caring about the fandom) resulted in it not being released stateside. Its biggest profit is in Japan and the only Gundam games that are released stateside are the ones that appeal to the majority like Gundam Musou.
Not referring to American Fandom. It refers to the Gundam Fandom. Since the companies that are reviewing them are American, they apply their tastes to it and their reviews, as such dictating the sales. They bashed the gameplay and such, as a result, no further attempts to localize were made. In retrospect, it is a miracle that series like Monster Hunter was successful at all seeing that they got trashed in reviews as well and yet stayed strong.
@Machdude Really? They bashed the gameplay for Battlefield Record? Wow...And yet years before this Crossfire was released...and that game, too, was bashed.
So they want to keep us with an older, more likely, clunky game then a possibly refined (and newer) one?
These games were made for the fans, not for your audience. In this case, the games were made as what-ifs and the ability to play as your favorite Gundam characters. They do not have the most up to date operating systems, but considering that most fans are playing for the story, your point is moot.
But as it is, given that the standards of game reviewers these days seem to praise the same types of games over and over again, it really does show where their biases are.

This game uses an engine based off of the good Gundam games, like Lost War Chronicles and the Blue Destiny series.
