The conflict in Sudan is because of the legacy of European colonialism that shaped the continent of Africa; read about the "Scramble for Africa" by colonial European powers at the end of the 19th century. Iam a sudanese from an african tribe, a muslim and have christian families from my mothers side and have arab families at the same time, inspite of all this we do not event see our differences, we even joke on each other in each others presence without any hard feelings, I do not claim to be perfect, since alot of ppl in this country still have those race distinction feelings inside them, just like alot of ppl who are commenting here. and it will only result in making situations worst.

Hasahnee, You are right. Sudan's conflict is based on colonialism. When the British went into Sudan in 19th century they ruled the North and South differently. South Sudan was treated as part of African countries to south such as Kenya, Uganda and Congo. The North was given to Egypt and became developed whereas the South was underdeveloped and ignored by British colonial officials.

The conflict in Sudan is because of the legacy of European colonialism that shaped the continent of Africa; read about the "Scramble for Africa" by colonial European powers at the end of the 19th century. Sudan is one of these fake countries the British put together and is not meant to be one country (kind of like the whole Middle East the British and French divided up after the defeat of the Ottomans in WWI).

Sudan's problems go beyond the anglo-egyptian rule of Sudan. Sudan problems began with the invasions of Arabs around the 6-8 centuries c.e when the nubian kingdoms were defeated these sellouts converted to islam to avoid being enslaved. Hasahnee, You are right. Sudan's conflict is based on colonialism. When the British went into Sudan in 19th century they ruled the North and South differently. South Sudan was treated as part of African countries to south such as Kenya, Uganda and Congo. The North was given to Egypt and became developed whereas the South was underdeveloped and ignored by British colonial officials.

Islamization is not the problem in Sudan because the majority Furnawi people of Darfur are Moslems. Arabs do not consider Black Moslems authentic or of consequence. At best, they concede to blacks, the role of ordained slaves or animals, to be used as beasts of burden by the superior Arab race. The rule applies to all blacks, whether Moslems or non-Moslems and whether of Nigerian (Hausa/Fulani or Yoruba extractions) , Tanzanians, Ugandans, Malians or African-Americans.
