  • What if you use classic painting medium(1/3 turp. 1/3 linseed oil, 1/3 damar varnish) through out the whole painting? And when it comes to glazing with Liquin, would you use this through out the whole painting or use something else for the under painting and use liquin for just the glazing?

  • @13Moonchild Apologies for the delay in responding to your question. Whether using a traditional medium or Liquin, the most important thing to remember is that the 'Fat over Lean' principle still applies. For more detail, visit the Winsor & Newton website 'Frequently Asked Questions' section for 'Oils in General' and 'Oils, Solvents, Mediums & Varnishes'.

  • (I'm using Artisan)

Can you paint thin over thin/thick if the layer underneath is dry to touch?

I've never had paint cracking, but wonder if it'll crack in the 6 month-before-varnish stage?

  • I use your Alkyds oil paints. Their awesome! Best Regards
