You r talking shit. i have no idea what you are taught at ur schools. Unless red army the war had never been stopped!!! America supported but only the Soviet Union could win the War! Millions of russians were killed during the war, twice as much as in the rest Europe. Bolshevics killed lots of people but it is nothing compared to the number murdered by germans and the violency people were killed. Haven't you read about concentration camps and the experiments held there?
The USA army corp. was more "advanced", i guess u could say, than the Red Army, but the Red Army have bravery, guts, and ALOT of men, most of all, they were determined to protect their country. They took the most damage from this war (as in ARMIES, i still believe the Jews took the highest toll), but they gave back more than they lost.
@Luckyyyy11 not one country won the war. without the eastern front your right the allies probably couldn't take on the Germans but without the western front Moscow would have surly have been lost and what do you think japan would have done to russia if America wasn't there? Also U.S gave many tanks and other equipment to russia to help them win on there front. BOTH the allies and russia won the war in Europe not just the russians and not just the allies
The Soviet Union didn't win the war alone. They accounted for 87% of fascist losses in Europe. Serbia accounted for at least a few %. USA defeated the majority of Japanese forces thought the Soviet Union helped far more against Japan than the bandits and fascists of Anglo-American and French imperialism helped against fascists in Europe.

The analysis on strategy in the film is incorrect. The Soviets defended the borders and Stalin did not allow retreat thus causing massive pockets such as at Kiev.
As for the people - it was only when it was clear what Nazi occupation offered that the Soviet people (or more to the point Russians) really got behind Stalin.
