Christian denominations are, the most part, it's gray. I grew up in a non-denominational church, then started going to a Baptist church, and was involved in an Assembly of God group in college.  When asked what I am, I say Christian and I don't say Baptist or whatever. Denominations are not Biblical and are man-made things, so it really shouldn't be an issue. The difference between a Baptist and an Episcopalian is pretty extreme. Episcopalian are the ones in the US who don't hate gay people. That's why he says he's a Baptist. The two churches have the same roots in the English Reformation, but the Baptists were a dissenting church that came over to the New World. The Episcopalians are the Church of England! The Baptists (some of them) have gone insane.
