Why is this guy so freaking angry? What does Minneapolis having anything to do with the Twins being a small market team? What does having big corporations have to do with being a small market team? They don't affect what the owner plays his players. Nor does the size of the city.

The Twins used to be a small market team, but they've finally started paying a liitle more.

This guy was just a bitter Tigers fan apparently.

i enjoyed this. the yankees are in their own little world-like he said-and with all the money they have, they could just go ahead and start a whole new baseball league! they got the money to do it! that way it makes the rest of the league a little more fair once you take the yankees out of it, especially when they have cheater on their team who take 'roids like Alex Rodriguez .

I'm from NY and I totally agree with Colin. A lot of these "small market" areas are actually quite big: Toronto would be the third biggest US city if it was part of America, Vancover is the 8th best city to live in in the World, Minnesota has a lot of fortune 500 companies, Seatle's technological prowess rivals that of the Bay area and their coffee scene is second to none...Atlanta is the current home of hip hop and the home of Coca-Cola...These aren't legit small areas like Green Bay

The only reason why the Twins have historically spent like a small market team is because Carl Pohlad doesn't want to spend money. If he wanted to, they could have a Red Sox type payroll.

The Twin Cities are definately a force to be reckoned with. They were putting in a bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics and I thought they had a great chance, until the USOC decided to just give up on bidding. It's a cosmopolitan area, the Philadelphia or Boston to Chicago's New York. Like Herd said, I'd move there in a second if it didn't snow in June.

Minnesota is a big city. The Twins should have the money to sign big name free agents.

But their first item of business is keeping Joe Mauer and Joe Nathan.

Colin's got a good point. Minneapolis really isn't a small market. The Twins should be able to attract very wealthy investors. Twins fans will be very angry if they lose Mauer and Nathan to free agency.
