  • Great historical vid! I've heard other BBC takes of their songs (and they're all great), but never this one. There is a "Live at The BBC" compilation album from 1962 to 1965, where the Beatles performed live on the BBC featuring not only their own songs but other popular songs from other artists (Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Carl Perkins, Ray Charles and Buddy Holly, to name a few), but unfortunately this song didn't make the cut. Again, THANKS again for the post!

  • The flip side to A Hard Day's Night. This is one of my all-time Beatles favorites. I feel that had this been released as an A-side single, it would have hit #1.

  • Ok who is playing harmonica while John sings...

  • WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • "I N M O R T A L E S "

  • The nice part about this version is the way Ringo's drumming comes out more in the forefront.

  • From a Beatle fan that had thought he'd seen it all... Awesome! Thanks. This is finally a Beatle vid thats worthy of the usually false claim of "rare."

  • Great. Hadn't heard this before.

  • Thank you so much for this!!!! it's awesome...

Lennon's vocals are great here and his voice sounds amazing as always... that man... i don't understand how he didn't like his own voice, because I love it.

  • @100irissa yep, hard to understand how he could not like his own voice, I love it, too.

  • johns singing performance is waaaaaay better on this live version. more raw and less polished than the studio version.

  • @joemoe23 yeah your right i can hear it yes i agree his voice on the studio version is still great but you can totally hear the difference on this version

  • This is not live. But it's Beatles. AWESOME.

  • This is really live!!!

  • THIS. IS. SO. AWESOME. Lennons vocals sound better than ever!!!!

  • Old clip. Been around for a while if you have the right sources.

  • good Paul bass too!!!

  • Thanks for posting....I've never seen this before!

  • great.

  • Sweet, what a cool version, thanks.

  • Big bass track on this one...

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Respond this video...

  • John was the harmonica player, how does he sing and play it at the same time.....

  • @workstrength They're lip-syncing, see... and this apparently is a BBC take. Pulling my leg, or are you serious?

  • @saguaroboy yes, of course I was... but John was the harmonica player in the band

  • @workstrength Sure, but wasn't it a 'mouth organ'?

  • @workstrength He's multitalented

  • @workstrength they were singing to track, but Lennon was live singing along with the track.

  • como es que se oye la harmonica si john esta cantando? no es en vivo, o quien la esta tocando??

  • Wow! Never seen this footage before. I read that the TV appearance proper got deleted but at least we're lucky to have this. Amazing. The biggest band in the world at this point yet still Granada binned the footage. Crazy

  • Thank you beatlesound1. Solo conocía la versión de la BBC sin armónica. Esta es magnífica. Gracias otra vez.

  • thebeatlessound1 thanks!!

    I sarched this BBC version

  • Enjoy !

  • this was surely taped on an editing isle where they had all cameras and were remastering the video, right? Wow... wish we could have all footages from every camera... can you imagine it? creating our own mix of images to this heavenly sounds...

  • Great version!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! :D Beatles foreveeer!!

  • absolutely fabulous! thanx for posting!

  • I know the audio is from the BBC, but where is the video footage from?

  • i know this is realllllly late but it's from the making of the movie A Hard Day's Night

  • No It's not.

  • The footage is from the filming of an erased tv appearence. The show they were on was called Scene At 6:30 and filmed this on October 14,1964.
