Awesome! Thanks Pete!! Question..When you painted the car do you need to wet the floor down with water to reduce any dust that may be in the paint booth?
Pete, wright on with the color sand buff, shit sucks!! I've built 2 street beasts from start to finish, just solid colors. I have another I've been working on the past year and a half, it was brought to me having been vandalized and sitting outside in that state!! OUCH it was smashed from head to toe, top to bottom, and I live in buffalo New York, the winters arent nice so you could imagine the repairs I had to preform on it?? I have it 90% done, have it in primer in which I also let my filler
@swrnc Thanks. I'm having a nightmare with my paint. I've re-done it twice and it looks shocking. I'm painting engine bay and can't get colour to match the original wings (fender). I've even splashed out on a Devilbiss gravity gun 1.3 tip. It's a very light Metallic Blue and I need it to look as near to as I can. Any ideas Pete?
good video pete lots of information here but im still laughing my tail off cause i seen you waving your arms around and thought the paint got to your brain and was making you do ballet dancing while painting lol although it could be a new concept comming soon to a theater near you pete does the ballet while painting haha
@ziggassedup I used to do diesel mechanic back in the day, cleaning up parts in the parts washer was a mess, I always wore heavy rubber gloves because of the chemicals, the other guys used the stuff to clean their hands and arms off with it.
i know its alot of time but i honestly think u need to make ur own how to dvds pete.. like ive told ya before ive been doin this stuff for a few yrs now but i find myself learning something new from each of ur vids. whether its a new way to do somethin or a different product. ive been usin the hard rubber flat blocks for yrs and just got a durablock kit and holy shit its like nite and day. no longer do i have a 5 pound block i got a 5 ounce block.. i realy appreciate what u do pete.. thanks
@yukonrott no--Id just give them away- for free. Im glad to hear the durablock kit is working out, it's one of the best investments for being a body man. Pete
thanks pete for the lesson on blending, you make it look so easy,i can blend solid colors alright but not so good on mettalics but thanks to your vids i will keep trying, looking forward to more of your great videos and thanks from rick from nova scotia canada and u have a good day and keep gettin her done
Another great set of videos. Very explantory. And i also loved the gun adjustment details and showing us the blending process. Thanks for the knowledge Pete!
pete congratulations for your excellent work!. out of the series.! you have a gift and exploited it! sorry if misspelled not understand English! used the google translator! LOL! hug! I'm Brazilian! regards Renato !
Wouldn't expect nothing less than perfection from u Pete. Does the color sanding do away with the two tone paint ridge between the colors? Also could u do a paint gun lesson about adjusting paint volume and air pressure sometime? Have a good one Pete.
@ThePaulgregg When you apply the clear it basically gets rid of the paint edge, it melts it in where there is none. Ive been meaning to make a paint gun lesson, just seeems like time of day is on the short side right now. Pete
LookIng good. Hell i didnt see no dirt in it eather. Be a easy one to buff. Wish i could buff it cause no shit i love to sand a buff. Dont ask idk. I just do. If i lived in Texas i would DO IT FOR FREEEEEEE!!!!!! Cause My friend Pete always does free stuff. lol
Great job Pete, I wondered how you would blend that in. That's gotta take a lot of practice. I love learning this stuff. Great teacher, thank's again.
@vmaxcec You want to work your way up from 1500 wet to atleast 2000. I go all the way to 4000 grit then buff and polish. On a show car you take extra care. On a regular car you can get away with 1500.. Take it easy Pete
man good shootin' ,ya guess i just kinda realized your in texas,(im in michigan) anyway i got family down there near fort worth, ill have to see if they've heard of you.their last name is luther, anyway another great vid by my friend pete
