arg, i hated this level. it was so hard to beat! its because of those goddamn porkipines, especially the part where they fall on top of you, and that at a certain spot, couldnt get away from, which died of.
which sadly i didnt beat the game... cuz this damn level and those damn porkipines!
@jamiebird666 Nintendo Power's strategy guides make me miss the days when they actually included strategy guides in their magazines. Usually they'd get you past the first half of a game. The old NP was just full of interesting articles, including sections dedicated to Pokemon and RPGs.
@ETplaysFF Sadly i was never subscribed to Nintendo Power. I did borrow my friend's guide for pokemon crystal when we were little though. it was nice to have so you could know all the important levels of the pokemon since there was no internet site to tell you back then.
@ETplaysFF Well those people are just trolls. I doubt they ever really played this game. Some of the older games could never be completed without guides. They make them too easy these days.
@jamiebird666 Heh, you're probably right. Guides almost serve no purpose nowadays besides for collection and the pretty artwork inside them. I'm disappointed of how there's no Pokedex in the Pokemon Black & White guide. Instead, they released a second volume with all the info any Pokemon guide should have. :/
@ETplaysFF Wow that's just completely pointless. I suppose they fooled a lot of people into giving them money for that shit. Honestly why pay for stuff like that these days when anything you could ever need from it is online and easier to find. Even the artwork gets put online these days.
@KaptainSkurvy It isn't difficult to get your hands on this game nowadays. Nintendo has it available on their Virtual Console service for the Wii. However, it's highly recommended you play it with the Classic Controller going with that method.
i can't take it anymore... is there anyway to tell if you've found every bonus round in a level on the map screen? it's easy in DKC3 where the flag (pink for dixie etc.) is very dull if you didn't find everything but gets alot more air if you did find everything. as there are no flags in DKC1 or 2 i need to know if there is a way to tell.
On the level select screen, where it says the title of the stage, if there's an exclamation mark (!) at the end of the stage title, that means you've got every bonus coin there. If there's a DK Coin at the end of the stage title, that mean you've got the DK coin, too.
the last part makes me gouge my eyes

@jamiebird666 I did use the official Nintendo Power strategy guide for parts of this game. Very helpful.

@ETplaysFF It really is. There are some things that would have probably never been found without it because they're so hidden.

@jamiebird666 There was probably a guide online at the time. Pokemon Crystal was released in 2001. I've seen guides on IGN from the mid-90's, so...
I like this conversation. Most people would probably be upset that I used a strategy guide for these videos. :p
