  • Great video!  I use corn starch instead of baby powder because I don't like the strong scent. Great problem solving.

  • With our group, and an understanding with the state of Virginia: 18 years old- in order to respond to any search, as a certified Field Team member. Many of our Handlers though, have more certifications above FTM.

  • The powder (baby powder works well) lets us see the air movement. It's like putting smoke in the air. With powdering the air, we can briefly see how the wind is moving -which lets us best utilize our dogs nose.

  • The powder is especially good for training new handlers on how the air moves- We train using fire-fighting principles really- We use all the same terms like chimney, eddy, inversion layers, and thermals to name a few.

  • I found this very educational.
