  • OMG!!! I buy this relaxer because I have very fine hair and follow your tutorial, the result is amazing. I used just vaseline to protect my scalp and it works perfectly, no burns or redness!!! Thank you soooooo much!!!!

  • LOL! Good tutorial.

  • ok i got an answer about bone straight hair!

  • so i got to come off the box? ok. do u relax your hair bone straight? bc i heard that it wasn't good for the hair, unless u want to keep it short. so it's ok to switch relaxers? bc i was gonna stick w/ ors bc i don't want no problems. how long do u wait to relax? like every 8 wks? great vid! thanx!

  • Great! Job I learned sonething new.

  • iDont see how yhu culd dislike thisz

  • The Summit Sensitive Scalp base is so good. I don't know how people that scratch their heads prior to relaxing or those who are sensitive don't use that product, there is no way on God's green earth I can relax my hair without it.

  • i pay 50 bucks every 2 months to get my hair permed...thanks to you i think im prepared to do this myself at home :)

btw, you seem like you're a very nice lady. i'd like to have a nice, down to earth friend like you.

  • i love you too (^_^)

  • @monee127 Poor you, Im so sorry, but I died of what you said, LOL

  • I love how when someone asks" why is your hair so nice?!" the answer is "I'm Indian (native american I mean)". I'm Puerto/Native American but I'm sorry, I have some curly ass hair and in no way is my ethnicity an excuse for my "nice hair"

I'm trying to refer to the arguement below me.

    Nice video.

  • call me weird but i love this video..

  • Beautiful girl, Your video showed me the correct way to perm mine. I though of you as i permed it section by section lol!! Are you a sagittarius lol random i know but im just curious cus you seem like a sagittarius fierce and full of life..lol

  • This is the funniest hair video ever! "Burn me to the white meat"!!!!!! LOLOL

I can image it happening and her man picking her up and putting her head in the sink and rinsing until she wakes up. LOL.

  • @lavene53 LOL yeh I can see that too :P funny as

  • This is the funniest hair video ever! "Burn me to the white meat"!!!!!! LOLOL

  • What a cute little accent. Love your thick hair; gorgeous!

  • youre gorgeous ! :)

  • hey girl. you should wear glowes because these relaxers are very dangerous for your skin.its full of dangerous chemical stuff

  • perhm wat da hell

  • perhm

  • Lookin gud girl!!! (:

I been Natural and this isnt for me i think im going back to relaxers.

Nothing is wrong with rockin a perm if it's healthy and u have knowledge!!!

  • This matter shouldn't even be up for discussion, though it is, it's not your hair.

  • I love your energy...I was having a bad day...you put a smile on my face and gave me insight

  • I got to retouch my growth soon like sometime this month hopefully. I wish I had someone who can help me with it but got noone to. I used Organic Root Stimulator. When I relax my hair do I use all the base of it?

  • I got to retouch my growth soon like sometime this month hopefully. I wish I had someone who can help me with it but got noone to. I used Organic Root Stimulator.

  • I got to retouch my growth soon like sometime this month hopefully. I wish I had someone who can help me with it but got noone to.

  • your newgrowth doesnt lookthat bd realy but your hair is nice

  • :) I had to comment on this video.. all the comments were making me cringe. First of all I love your channel, I think it's informative, and you are very down to earth. However I'd like to say to the negative people. Just because you relax your hair it DOESNT mean you hate yourself, or does it makes you less black. When caucasion women perm their hair to make it curly NO ONE says anything. If she likes her hair straight, SO WHAT- no matter how straight her hair is she is STILL Black!

  • it dosent look like u needed a relaxer

  • i have indian blood in me too. and i relax my hair.when i get new growth its kinda curly.but in some parts its course.i would like go natural someday and see what my hair is supposed to look like just how god made it.and im getting tired of straightening my so im gonna try it. wish me luck :)

  • @lalajossa good luck ^_^

  • Hi erm today my mum texturized my virgin hair and didnt really do it properly, she didnt comb it thru to the ends so my ends are bushy and the roots and hair above the roots are straightish and my ends curly....

    what can i do?

    please help

  • you do your applications really quick which is good... very professional.. I would let you do my hair :)

  • I don't think the No Lye Relaxer helps cause the commercial is fake! there was a girl with messed up hair, and then she had on a weave and I could actually tell that wasn't her hair.

  • @Dante121892 i saw that as well..

  • sigh with the " I got Indian in my family" thing agian and the "good grade of hair"...is there really a bad grade of hair..what is it nappy hair?? You might as well say f**k being black i only want my "good" Indian hair ( inhanced with a relxer, right *rolls eyes*)..really wish black ppl whould stop with that slave mantality bullshit

  • @VicaQueen09 i wish ignorant people like you would stop commenting on videos if you dont like them DONT COMMENT THE DAMN VID IF YOU DONT LIKE IT POINT BLANK PERIOD!!!

  • @lekena2 oh.....im sry....i must have thought this was America where i can comment on anything i want to .humm my bad *rolls eyes* asshole

p.s. and im sry...was i speaking to you when i commentd (looks back at comment) nope nope i surly was talk to the lady that made this video...oh well your bad :)

  • @VicaQueen09 BAHAHAHAHAH IM SRYY STUPID ASS PEOPLE LIKE YOU WOULD ACTUALLY THINK THAT I CARE WITH YOU ARGUING WITH ME ON A DAMN COMPUTER WWWWOOOOOOWWWWWW!!! THANKS FOR SPENDING YOUR POINTLESS LIFE RESPONDING TO ME LOVE YA * KISSES*

  • @lekena2 whos arguing lol you are that one typing in all caps ( which by the way isn't cool just big and anoying) and you commented on me first sis.. i was minding my on biz and stating my opinion but i understand if you dont understand what that is miss....lekena? (how wonderfully ...ghetto) :) mother always told me how some innercity schools didnt teach the childeren, good day :)

  • so how often do you do your retouches? One of my aunts claims she used to put a relaxer on her hair every six months. she's like 70 years old and has a head full of long grey hair!!

  • ur pretty

  • put olive oil on your all ready relaxed hair to prevent overlap

  • Do you pass out a lot?

  • LMAO @ 1 OF UR BIGGEST FEARS PASSING OUT AND NOBODY FIND U UNTIL UR PERM BURNS TILL THE WHITE MEAT LMAO GOODNESS THATS FUNNY

AND WHATS UP WITH ALL THESE FAKE ASS HISTORIANS COMING ON HERE TELLING FOLKS THAT THEY CANT BE MIXED w/ INDIAN B/C THEY READ A STUDY SAYING ONLY 5% OF BLACK FOLKS GOT INDIAN MIX?? SOO NOT TRUE B/C IF UR ROOTS IS FROM THE DEEP SOUTH BEFORE THE CIVIL WAR ITS VERY LIKELY U GOT INDIAN BLOOD IN U, I KNOW I DO FOR A FACT WHY WOULD SOMEONE LIE? ESPECIALLY WHEN U CAN SEE FEATURES

  • Two more Q's, on a scale of 1-10 how much does it "burn"? lol & would it make a difference or be damaging if I got my hair permed at a salon first with a lye relaxer and then from then on do it at home with a no-lye relaxer?

  • At the beginning of the video, is that how your hair looks right after you relax it?

  • It doesn't look like she even needs a touch up yet.

  • And since you guys are talking about American Indiginous people Lakota in the house!! <3 lol

  • this is my ultimate fear... a relaxer :'( chemicals scare me. I commend all you that get it I could never but your hair looks nice after !

  • oh my god! i said that exact same thing. sometimes when im deep conditioning my hair i fall asleep if im really tired and i was thinking what if it happened while i was relaxing?!?!! i would have no hair and my scalp would be burnt off

  • @ureallysuckglobes And why is it "everybody" have Cherokee (as opposed to Creek, Muscogee, Choctaw ect) ? Are they the only tribe people know? LOL.

  • @ureallysuckglobes you know funny thing about it my grandparents were seriously Indian...lol no joke. so i hate it when the ones really mixed with it are seen as delusional... well i look it so i guess its not the same...

  • @Adoreimi since u have so much indian in u why are you subcribe to black hair channels and watching her video? and what do indians looks like anyway? some native have noises wider than goldenchild with heavy eye lids and slanted eyes. so ur point is?

  • @MySkiesAreBlue24 Uh excuse me but I said my GRANPARENTS were seriously indian. When did that count as so much? I'm just stating a fact. My hair is not straight and leans more towards my fathers side than my moms so of course i would be getting more tips from black females than Indian ones. and your point exactly SOME have those features but the MAJORITY do not. It is not a classic feature and most with those features have mixed with African tribes some where down their history.

  • @Adoreimi lol!! ur a troll and u probably have more than one account. natives from alaska, taions from puerto rico can have the same features as goldenchild just with light skin and doesn't mean they have african in them. 'african" is an ethinicty and they aren't the only ones with wide noises. Iman is african with causoid features and with a good weave could pass as East Indian. u also have a profile pic of a white cartoon. so that indicate alot about ur self imagine.

  • @MySkiesAreBlue24 First off your an idiot, like legit. I really cant talk to idiots like you. Second off I dont even know WHY you responded to my comment before seeing that I was not even talking to you to begin with. I wasnt trying to get into a debate about another people or race Im talking about MYSELF. Sorry if you cant accept that. Third off I like ANIME you retard! It really has nothing to do with my self image.

  • @Adoreimi ureallysuckglobes has nothing 2 do with my freedom of speech. see the thing about trolls is ur fake. i bet ur a man and probably not even black at all. u still haven't answered my question what do 'indians" look like? maybe ur white animation cartoon depicts this. cause i notice u said u r seriuosly indian and calling this woman delusional because of who she says her family is . where do u get off and who r u to say what ppls got in their family?

  • @MySkiesAreBlue24 Your the troll because you really dont know how or when to GIVE UP! I wasnt talking to you so stay out of other peoples business geez! OMG You really just read what you want to read!!!! I said MY GRANDPARENTS WERE INDIAN YOU FREAKIN RETARD!!!! And for the last time the cartoon is ANIME!!!! It is a JAPANESE cartoon and has nothing to do with me!! This is how the JAPANESE draw their cartoon!! MY GOD EDUCATE YOURSELF PLEASE!!! I never said SHE was delusional!

  • @Adoreimi whatever i dont live to argue. i still think u r a non black person and a troll with more than one account. but anyways i'm done with u.

  • @MySkiesAreBlue24 Trolls dont put info on their accounts trolls also dont keep their accounts since 2007 so your claims is negative.

  • @Adoreimi sure you misfits to society do

  • @MySkiesAreBlue24 whatever...smh

  • @MySkiesAreBlue24 all I did was respond to ureallysuckglobes comment! thats it! end of story! My god you must live to argue!

  • @ureallysuckglobes Thats not actually true. well thats not the case with me

  • @ureallysuckglobes Where are you getting those figures? It's interesting how you chastise her for making up info about having Cherokee heritage but you have the nerve to supply made-up percentages about Black and Indian mixtures. So why don't you tell us where you got your info. Supply more than TWO pieces of PROVEN facts/studies that support what you're saying! And no Wikipedia doesn't count!

  • @loovlegn Took The Words Out Of My Mouth ........ Ppl Like Dat Get On My Nerve

  • Comment removed

  • @loovlegn Harvard Professor of African American studies Henry Lewis Gates and the fact the overwhelming majority of African American admixture tests done show little to NO Native American admixture. The interaction between blacks and Natives throughout American history has been seriously exaggerated, mostly by black people who are on some romanticizing shit (don't even realize Natives owned black slaves too). It's pathetic, best believe natives aren't fighting to claim us like that. smh.

  • @ureallysuckglobes Are you seriously keeping this argument up.Please let it go..There are more things to worry about than whether or not someone has native american blood running through their veins. Please let it go..There is no need to be argumentative. I'm sorry if a simple statement about my grandmother started all of this. That was really not my intention.

  • Cherokee Indian, African American, French and Caucasian here! You can only how difficult my hair is to manage. I have around 4-5 textures to my hair and it is a pain in the you know what to deal with!

  • LOLOL. Burn you to the white meat. I used to fear that the water would shut off and I'd have to rinse in the toilet. Perm day phobia is for real.

  • I am dead at the Cherokee Indian Plug....DEAD!

  • i have very sensitive skin too. The one perm that doesn't burn me is Soft and Beautiful Botanicals Sensitive Scalp. I love, love, love it!

  • your hair is lovely glossy and thick-it seems that you relax quite frequently but it works for you as you have no damage

you put a base on but that doesnt that lessen the effect of the relxer on you hair

  • Many peoples hair grow at a different rate, some people cant go 2-3 months without a relaxer due to rapid hair growth and very coarse hair. If you do decide to go that long without a relaxer, please make sure to take good care of your new growth to prevent breakage at the line of demarcation (where the relaxed hair meets the unrelaxed hair) by keeping it moisturized and putting a good protein on it.

  • thanks for telling me about the sensitive scalp! it's amazing and all i will use to base my scalp now!

  • your hot

  • im soo in need of an relaxer rite now..

  • you do it so well. I've only ever tried doing it once and i almost burned my scalp off cuz i was so slow in doing it (i was scared to death that it would get into my eyes hence taking my time). But now that i've seen how you do it i think i'll try it one more time

  • You have some BEAUTIFUL thick hair! Mine is so fine and thin. It grows, but I'm trying to get it thicker.

  • dont put it too close to the tips. You only need to cover the new growth. It will damage the rest.

  • Is it alright to base with castor oil?

  • when i first found out i was preg i her permed my hair and i got light headed from the water and passed out when i was washing out the shampoo so i totally understand

  • OMG girl!!!!!!!!!!!! i be thinkin the same thing, or that theres an emergency like something random happening and i dont get the chance to watch it out and neutralize lol

  • It's not perm, it's a relaxer.

  • where are you from i hear a accent?

  • You do have beautiful hair. Thank you for sharing. I've gotten much breakage from salons and will now do my own again. I try not to overlap and made sure the relaxer was out completely and never had any breakage doing it myself. One stylist only shampooed me once resulting in a lot of breakage. Trying to find someone who cares about my hair as I do has become a daunting task. Your hair looks healthy and shiny and you do it yourself. I'm done paying people to damage my hair. Thanks again!

  • @jewells49 i remember my freshman year in highschool when i had a date to the prom with a senior and the lady relaxed my hair, and it burned so bad, then she washed out the relaxer scratching my scalp with her fingernails. Once she finished washing my hair, my scalp was bleeding and blood was caked on her nails. That was the last time i ever got a professional to relax my hair. My mom threatened to sue but then the woman cried so much my mom didnt sue.

  • @temickab Omg , are you serious ?? I'm sorry but I wouldn't care if she was crying , I would have sued.

  • Your application and technique is really good , especially since youre doing it yourself.

  • But i love the vid!

  • You dont even look like you need a relaxer yet...i dont see any new growth :/

  • Yeah the perm was free. they offered me a coupon for a free haircut. i declined, i just wanted to sue them!!! but the doctor at the emercency told me it wasn't that bad...my scalp is damaged now, but apparently not enough to sue them...anyways, never again!

  • thank you for helping me with my touch up. As a teenager, I would damage my hair too many times. But getting sick of spending on $200-almost 400 on my hair every few months for full weaves, is just feasible for me anymore. It's really empowering and liberating to be able to do your own hair. Sadly, Ive been one of the black girls who hadnt decided to master my hair until age 24...I have thick hair like yours shoulder length, I'm managing myself now..I love it!! Thank you for help again.

  • The worst thing happened to me this summer: Went to get a perm at walmart and when it was time to rinse... no water coming out!!!! Both the lady and myself paniqued because it was burning like crazy!!! She ran to get bottles of water from the store to rinse the relaxer off my hair...it was just horrible!! never again!

  • I your perm was free after that incident!

  • so why do you put the grease on your scalp if you are going to relax it

  • @plus2more

You mean why is she basing it? So that the relaxer doesn't burn her scalp. And just to point out no lye can burn too. Don't let anyone tell you it won't.

  • Rosebud and Jaguar Paw! ;] This was great! Thank you!

  • I like!!! Ur makeup in ur pix is flawless!!

  • Girrrrrrrrrrrl, I HAVE been axing to see dat foeva! Mmmhmm, thas' what I'm talkin' about! And girrl, I always have sumbody wit me 2; I don't want no passing out or nuthin' whacked like dat while I be a chillin' in da cut, doin' my own perm! Real talk. Thas' wassup.

  • what is overlapping???

  • Overlapping is putting relaxer on hair that has already been relaxed. You should ONLY apply the relaxer to new growth.

  • can i overlap cuz my relaxed hair(its been 8 months since i relaxed it) and now its curly again?im asan can i still use african products?

  • You should just relax the part of your hair that has never been relaxed. Overlapping could cause the previously relaxed part of your hair to become over processed/damaged. However, I admit that I have overlapped a relaxer before and didn't really harm my hair (and my hair is super fine.), but if you can avoid it, you should. You being Asian is inconsequential. Relaxers are just marketed to Black women because they are the main consumers of it, but you may want to start with a mild relaxer.

  • my cousinin vietnam (a hairstylist)and she relaxed it 4 me with an asian product but they dnt sell any here

  • i meant asian

  • Wow SMDH @ "I can't rely on the little bit of Indian blood that I got in me to have the kind of hair that I want" & "I guess I have a decent grade of hair...". The amount of self-hate that runs through Black people is astounding and depressing. We HAVE to start doing better and teaching our kids better, so that they'll never say OR think anything like that. However, your hair is nice.

  • @kckyrballs That doesn't necessarily mean she isn't proud of her black heritage as well (just look at the words used to tag this video). But even the proudest black person has to admit black genes are not known to produce manageable hair or, at least, a hairstyle consistent with the look she is going for in this video.

  • @dawnistaaa I agree she has thick hair yet its manageable soft hair. This usually does indicate another mixture. Her texture is silky which is not typically associated with black hair. There's nothing wrong with her talking about her ancestry because that does influence hair texture. I think some of the ppls are angry on this page becasue of whats obvious about her hair.

  • @kckyrballs That doesn't necessarily mean she isn't proud of her black heritage as well (just look at the words used to tag this video). But even the proudest black person has to admit black genes are not known to produce manageable hair or, at least, a hairstyle consistent with the look she is going for in this video. Diversity is a blessing!

  • @kckyrballs Couldnt of said it any better!

  • Your HAIR IS VERY PRETTY YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TO PERM.

  • You have beautiful, healthy looking hair. Thanks for this video, it is very clear and easy to understand.

  • Design essentials has a great base cream for sensitive scalps. It is a really great product that I love to use when I relax ...it has a cooling/tingling affect that minimizes the burnining sensation ( :

  • I really appreciate this video im a college student on a strick budget and ive been going to the hair salon and leaving unsastified. so im trying to learn how to relax my own hair and im terrified that i will be bald when its all over!!! yikes!!

  • I love how shiny your hair looks! i have a question, i've seen videos on youtube of people basing their scalp, but i don't understand how the hair processes/relaxes if you put the base on the new growth...which i've seen people doing

  • I love that you say that about your fear of passing out while you are doing your hair.I have that exact same fear.

  • Thanks for the video, I'm a college student tryna make things work and save money...I'm kinda excited and kinda dreadin it....I'm so use to going to the beauty parlor.

  • Aint that the truth..us college kids are some of the most resourceful people

  • bethcristin1972 use some vasaline

  • To bethcristin1972 you can use petroleum jelly as a base.

  • If someone can tell what other thing I can use to base my hair before relaxing it, I will appreciate it deeply. I live in Japan, so I don't get this type of products in here, so if someone can be so kind to tell me if I can use conditioner, or what kind of easy to find cream that would be sooo much helpful, tks!!!!!!

  • i luv your accent

  • u got beautiful long hair i wish my hair was long like urs

  • Some people have to relax their hair more often than others because of their hair texture. I can't go longer than six weeks without a relaxer because my new growth is really thick. A former beautician of mine used to use revlon on my hair and some times I would get a relaxer twice a month. Plus shes just using a mild relaxer.

  • you should never get your hair relaxed more than once in a month and for healthy hair it should be relaxed every 2 or 3 months

  • i think you may be relaxing your hair too much because you have rarely any new growth...over relaxing it is eventuallly going to ruin your hair.

  • lol, it's not a perm it's a relaxer.

  • I wish people would realize that. lol.

  • how much does it cost if you go to salon?

i might do it me self im scared

  • Yup i do revlon too once a year (:

But whats the diff lye no lye,,,

  • hi, thanks for sharing ur tips. It was really helpful as am really scared of relaxing my hair too. I will be relaxing it tomorrow.

  • thank you sooooo much for posting this video...i will be replaying this tonight and will try to copy your techniques while I relax my hair. learned a lot...

  • How long do you go between touch ups?

  • wow you're so fast and good at keeping it on the new growth. i still have problems putting it on the rest of my hair so i cover it with olive oil to try to combat that and it works pretty well.

  • your hair is so thick and black and beautiful, thanks for posting!

  • Your explanations are great, but I couldnt' help chuckling at having your husband on "standby". (Please don't be angry.) I was imagining that if you fainted and he called 911, that as soon as the paramedics arrived he'd be screaming, "Quick, neutralize her hair! Neutralize her hair!" Good video.

  • i used to get my hair relaxed but i feel natural is much more beautiful and i get my hair blown n straightened often and i think it turns out better than when it did with my relaxers. besides u get the best of both worlds! cute puff, twists, or straightened it out!! y not roc the natural texture God gave u?

  • Hello my sister girl! I love the technique! Congrats on finding your heritage... I too am mixed... but I actually have traced my heritage... funny thing is most of my ancestors are full blooded indian with the exception of a few african american's.... so go on and found out... it is very useful to your decendents to know what they are... Much love... and be blessed

  • my hair grows very fast. 8weeks would b to long

  • Summit products are hard to find in England, what other product can i use for sensitve scalp

  • i was wondering how often should i put a relaxer on my hair.. the back of my hair is very very nappy. the front is always the first to get nappy. cause i sweat in the back of my head.. anyways. how many inches of new growth. should i have before i use the relaxer. the last time i used one was in the begging of . june and this is july so its about a month now.

anyways. any help would be great. thanks

  • thank you

  • OHH yeah. haha, silly me, i didnt think :P thankyou :)

  • Whats wrong with overlapping your relaxer? i've always wondered :)

  • if you get perm on the parts that have already been straightened you are over-processing your hair. what a perm does is break the bonds and strips ur hair of what makes it curly. the more you perm it the weaker it gets! hth...

  • Here is a tip ladiea..place 2 tablespoons of Olive oil in your relAXER, this streches your relaxer and prevents burning as wel you dont have to be watching the time..you will notice your hair will be silky smooth and so so soft!

  • Thx so much for the vid. I relied on my auntie to do my hair so much, I never bothered to really learn how. She's up in age now, so I have to figure out a way to do my own hair. You vid gave me feel confident about doing it myself with good results. Aloha!

  • Same here. My mom always does my hair and I'm in college! I really have to learn to do it myself or I'm going to spend a lot of money in the future. Thanks a lot.
