  • Fukc you bill gates, we have so many US Engineers who recently graduated and have not find a job

  • The fact that Bill Gates has not been executed for treason says a lot about how corrupt the USA has become

  • @roymallard not to mention that he want use vaccines to depopulate the planet

  • @roymallard He's done more for this country than you could ever dream.

  • @roymallard yeah lets make america better,oh yeah i will be executed for treason

  • Not properly legislating fiscal accounting is the primary reality of our demise. Most of Us have one thing in common, our stomachs are getting empty and it is getting worse, not better. Politicians can't just be "busy" in times of crisis, they must PRODUCE RESULTS.

Unemployed US IT worker, (first time my 34 year career).

    1995 to 2005 - 110k to 115K per year

    2006 to 2007 - 85K per year

    2008 25K - per year

2009 5K - per year (unsustainable at current cost of living)

  • Real Genius...Mr. Nikola Tesla.

  • sure, lets allow foreign workers that get free education to come in and take american jobs. Where else can you get an engineer with a masters for 25k a year.

  • "Its just amazing for me, to watch" you not having a Show anymore.

  • I'm so glad Vista was a complete fail. You get what you pay for.

  • @mirsaes but wait we have Windows 7 now LOL, which is Vista with a dumb down UAC and still blocks unsigned drivers. Microsoft charges manufacturers a fortune to sign up for the driver list which is why most dont and why we have so many problems with unsigned drivers and microsoft. And IE8, what a peice of shit that is.

  • @sniffy45, You ain't seen nothing yet! Hold on to your pants cause this guy isn't into making operating systems work let alone invest in RD. He's all about the Benjamins and loves to save a dime regardless of what it does to quality--in his opinion science can suck it.

  • @mirsaes so maybe he and his foundation will find a cure for AIDS? I cant imagine anything else that he is involved in would trump that.

  • Wow, listen to our politicians kiss Bill Gates butt! Gates is a stupid monster that does not care to advance the software and or technological fields in the United States. This man is not a genius he is a shrewd businessman pure and simple and here he is again working the next deal, at the cost of true talent in America. I wonder how much he would really give if his donations were not tax deductible.

  • Poor Bill Gates, I feel soooooo bad for him.

He doesn't have enough money, so he needs to deny jobs to Americans

and import foreigners at half the wages.

How does he get by on just $58 billion?

  • Deny jobs to unskilled Americans. We all wish we had more of the best ...unfortunately a lot of them don't live in this country.

  • while this is about to happen, it HAS ALREADY BLOODY HAPPENED IN SINGAPORE. 1 IN 3 SINGAPOREANS ARE FOREIGNERS.

U NOE SOME TOP GUN TELL US A SLOGAN. CHEAPER, BETTER , FASTER

  • this CNN guy is an idiot.

  • Bill gates is a nigger lover

  • Comment removed

  • I disagree with the CNN guy

  • Bill should go back to kidnapping black workers for the plantation, that was more lucrative than being an H1b pimp

  • I'm all for free trade with reasonable transitions. Much of the powertrain for India's auto/bus industry comes from America and abroad. They use our diesels and v8s for their busses and trucks like crazy.

I'm not saying everything is perfect. There will be job losses and job gains. When the ATM was invited, should we have not layed off all the tellers previously employed by the banks? If we can't make our labor competitive then the rest of the world will do it and exclude us from trading.

  • India has high duties on car imports because they're not a developed economy for manufacturing goods. There a service oriented economy because many Indians speak english.

  • @jrs89 service orientation creates no value!!!

  • @ozeangruen I'm not talking about retail or mindless jobs. Engineering, R&D, and other related services are the cream of the crop in the value chain. Send it over to China and they build it adding barely any value to it. Their economy isn't growing as fast as we think it is because they're importing goods and services sourced from the US, adding a tiny bit of value by mass producing it, and then exporting it back to the US.

But you're right, the key is adding value.

  • @jrs89 I agree with you !!! Most company´s in Germany returne their production line back to Germany because of lack of quality, and a problem is the infringement of copyright. example Iphone 3G - P168 (Chinese Copy).

  • I missed this about Gates when this happened. I now have a very bad flavor in my mouth about him, already had for the sneaky way he sneakly kept the rights of Apple's OS. This guy is a bad ass business man, no surprise he's a billionare. Just wish honest and forethright people actually had a chance in the world. Instead, we will be doomed by the greed of the filthy-- now I see Bill Gates is one of those filthy. (No not a fan of Lou Dobbs either) Just don't like all this outsourcing.

  • Bill Gates > World

  • Lou Dobbs has an undergraduate degree in Econ from Harvard. He doesn't believe the shit he is saying. He just spews this shit so all you gullible and paranoid fucks so you increase his ratings and ad revenue.

The economy is down and capital-intensive industries like the tech industry have cut back on R&D. As of this month, there have only been ~47,000 H-1B visas granted this year. Usually all 65k H-1B positions get filled the day the applications come in. So much for the cheap labor theory.

  • All 47K should have been filled by American citizens first. I know directly and indirectly lots of real true certified engineers in computer, mechanical, and aeropsace degrees and countless additional certifications.

  • Why didn't they take the jobs? Either Americans refuse to work because of either the wage (or unemployment benefits provide them with a higher wage), unwilling to relocate because they paid too much for home, they're unqualified (they would need on the job training before they were productive to firms), or the regulations of higher a native worker are too costly.

Keep in mind that those 47k jobs are not permanent jobs. Employers like Visas because the workers have to leave when they're done.

  • Simple jrs89 they are skipped over because of wage, most don't even get a chance to be offered a position. Happens very often, and I have to deal with training the dip sticks they get from these other lands that DON'T have real education and tend to be useless. The fact is, wages are artificially pushed lower due to hiring over seas just as our manufacturing base has. You and all that think like you are nuts, absolutely nuts!!! Or in bed with the corporations.

  • If those engineers have the experience and know-how in today's relevant technologies and they market themselves to employers, they'll find work. If you're worth investing in and you can prove that, you'll be useful to someone.

We have to be mindful that there are many American citizens who work overseas for both American and foreign companies. How would you feel if someone tried to stop you?

Hate your job? Outsource certain tasks and use the extra time to be more productive at your job.

  • Many of the countries do stop us or anyone else... China, India, Germany, France, Italy, UK, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland-- only the third world country that are bust and very dangerous don't mind hiring engineers from the outside such as Nigeria, Uganda, Katswana, etc. And I feel just fine if they don't allow me a Visa, its their country NOT MINE!

  • Mr Gates please leave USA and go live with the hindus, you are a traitor and a disgrace

  • Go study the Heckscher-Ohlin model and come back and bitch about globalization. What has made America great over the years is that it's the world's brain drain.

You're a fool if you think all you need to do is learn a programming language to be entitled to a decent career, you're kidding yourself. If the rest of world can produce software for cheaper, the rest of the world will buy it. Want job security? Make yourself useful and do something millions of other people aren't doing.

  • at 12 do you think you should be calling adults fools or fucks?

    you suck on guitar

  • Rather not when it doesn't pay beans! I don't want to import poverty thank you very much!

  • You're not importing poverty. The H1B workers took every opportunity they have, stretch their dollars, and are taxed for benefits they do not receive. It would be one thing if we gave them social security and gov't goodies, but we don't. America's success has been because it was the world's brain drain and attracted the best. I fear we've become an entitlement society in which we think we deserve a wage regardless of how much its valued. We can't do that while the rest of world does more with

  • jrs89, what planet are you from? It is mankinds nature to want things to be better for the next generation. And what is wrong with that... that is what has gotten civilzation thus far. And we don't owe other nations anything as we have no control and right to control them. Just like trying to force spread democracy overseas its bogus... Let them figure out how to make a good country and stop leaching off of us. We cannot compete against slave labor work camps etc. its impossible.

  • When you research hard trade data, in most instances there are ultimately more winners than losers that benefit from the free flow of labor and capital. This is almost consensus among economists. I'm not going to pretend that I've never seen a devastated factory town (I live in MI) and that free trade is 100% perfect, but I believe that we are ultimately worse off without it. If we can't produce goods/services competitively, we can't export to the world. and nations won't let us import.

  • ...less and we do less with more. The world is far more complicated than simply closing the borders and all our problems would go away. My dad sells powertrain to the US and abroad. His firm's division employs directly and indirectly many US and int'l workers. He has had employees that report to him that live in Europe. Some have moved to work in the states because of their experience dealing with European companies. You're going to tell me that all is useless because of imprt'd skilled labor?

  • Yes, I am saying that. We need a protectionsit policy that levels trading among our countries. Since 1985 to present our trade deficits have exploded. Especially since the reigns of NAFTA with Clinton and further crap with GW Bush. You can't give away, and that is what our trade policies are doing. Level trading. China must appreciate their currency so they will be able to buy ours stuff and produce mutual beneficial trade. Otherwise it's a slow crawl to wage collapse in the US.

  • Simple way of looking at it: China needs to float currency so their working class has higher buying power to purchase more of our stuff otherwise we will continue to enslave the Chinese in exchange for their poverty. No one benefits in the long run.

  • Addendum: Enslaving Chinese in poverty from buying foreign goods causes China to over save which then causes their trade partners to import less of their goods. With trade, you can't increase returns to scale and expect the same flows to continue after you close the borders. Eventually your trading partners will stop importing and eventually export with someone else.

  • First, not advocating stopping trade completely only modifications so we have a level trade. What you speak of will not happen if China doesn't float their currency, instead they will shut down factories as the US consumption declines due to lesser production. Their currency should appreciate so they can purchase our goods in near equal proportions. China has closed factories already due to recession here in the US.

  • Before the 20th century, working in the US basically was slave labor. The work conditions were terrible. There was no job security. The developing world will evolve to that when more employment opportunities compete and bid standards and wages upward. For many children its either child prostitution or slave it out in the factory. China is equally leveraged with the currency situation. If they continue to save, their export market will shrink over the long run.

  • The US will then return to "slave" like conditions as we hore our jobs and production overseas without near equivilant returns on trade. As for China, they're savings rate would need to be 80% which is impossible to make any real head way in their ability to purchase their own goods. Chinese savings rate Oct 2009 is aprox 39%. Far from 80%. They need such a high savings because their buying power doesn't increase as it should.

  • Bill Gates is an Ass Clown with glasses. If the H-1B visa holders were not paid 30-50% less and tied to one employer for 5 years suddenly this phony "shortage" would dissapear!!

  • Bill Gates is a big talker. my sister has all info on him and Paul Allen please respond so the truth can come out thank you.585 235-4601my name is patty. sister bonnie cell 540 671-0339 thank you.

  • Oh Yeah - a genius. Bill gates has made so many blunders that the main reason his company survived is because he has a monopoly in the market.

  • I can't stand it anymore. A genius??? He's a good businessman and not much more. If these people are so good why not pack and go there. You can then hire as much of these "smart" people as you like. Oh yeah, if you do that you'll have to deal with their legal system and other assorted bullshit. Keep smart people from coming in??? The majority that I've run across are just not up to par

  • And as a good businessman we mean good at being a snake cornering the market via patents and collusion. If a form of capitalism survives in the next century or at least some sort of prosperity, we will look back and realize how collusion was used because old people in Washington DC didn't understand technology to realize it was taking place by Gates and Company.

  • Cheap labour Cheap labour more profit bla bla bla. Ever heard of quality? You guys are inefficient just accept the fact. You are outsourcing yourselves and when the companies does this then they are bad? How many American travel abroad each year for health care? US spends $7000 per person and ranks 37 in WHO list. Cuba spends $25 per person and ranks 39 in WHO list. I think it is time to look at yourselves and try to make things work rather than blaming others and running after money.

  • It is the productivity that drives the companies to outsourcing. You don't need much quality of labor to make things like say a pencil. Anyone in this world can do that. Some people can do that 10 times cheaper and 2 times more efficiently than you so of course they will get the job. Get your asses out of youtube and do something useful and productive. You know you have the potential and capability just don't be lazy and blame others for your failures and laziness.

  • HAHAHA!! I'm so lazy working full time, school full time, in the military, gaining pilot's license... we are too busy to be lazy. We work our butts off here in the states. And it isn't as easy to start another business or be "innovative" when we don't have a lab or money to invest upon it. Get real because you live in a fantasy land hyped by corporations!

  • I never once said you were lazy. I think that's excellent that you're doing all of those things. I'm sure your current employer loves you.

Yes school/certs are expensive, but they're ultimately worth it in the long run for obvious reasons. Hence, they're inexpensive. You do get higher wages with those jobs. Compare the wage of an unskilled service job and a skilled technical position. There exists a significant wage difference between the two.

  • jrs98 was talking about justadooraway's comment.

  • Bill and melinda gates foundations provides funds for depopulation agendas...

  • Bill Gates is a Sack of Shit, he only wants cheap labor. WTF is on his mind, he lies and only wants to push his on agenda for Cheap Labor.. What a Fucking tool gates is.

  • (Reply) I don't think it is so much about "cheap labor" as it is about cheap choice. They want to be picky without paying higher wages for their pickiness. It's like wanting a custom wedding ring but for an off-the-shelf price. But there is NO general "tech shortage" anymore than a custom ring shortage. You could say Bill Gates want "A" workers at "C" prices.

  • I don't mind how you put it in classification, Bill "The Tool" Gates wants to hire cheaper VS paying American People WTF is that shit about... He's a Fucking Sack of Shit like I said.. A real Tool, he should have had Microsft Split Up..

  • Great answer.You make a great point.

  • yea and h1b can't leave easy, so he doesn't have to worry about exit to Google.

  • Well let's see. Are any of you fucks worthy of being employed by a company like microsoft? The shortage of skilled labor is the cause of the high wages in that sector. If there was no shortage, the wages would be more competitive and would draw more from the labor force here. If the rest of the world can do it cheaper, why shouldn't we? Or else we'll lose out.

If you're so sad about your stinking wages, go make yourself useful and do something different than what everyone else is.

  • While the simple radio, to hard drive player lives in the stone age. Don't question my qualification's, I am beyond reproach.

I am so exquisitely empty when reading your hollow words. Ohh bye the way drummer boy, when sending messages try to use sentences.

    PS

Bill "The Tool" Gates is already a memory, Apple will dominate the market in 10years. You can take that to the bank, and to the brokerage.

  • Apple won't dominate THE market in 10 years, but rather their market. They may expand their market share and continue to compete successfully with microsoft in certain sectors. Apple is a niche a brand that caters to the consumer that is willing to spend more for the premium name and appearance. This mentality is the exact opposite in the enterprise and small business markets. This is where microsoft is truly a huge company.

  • Ohh how, those thoughts must roll off your keyboard. I for one will be leaving the pacific north west to austin texas very soon here.

I hold a 4year degree from the state of washington in computer science and engineering.

But enough about me, the whole state of Michigan is a flush away. The last of the Great Rust Belt, is now but a shadow while a young man plays his guitar and watches time go bye.

I will on the other hand be developing the next generation of gaming.

  • how can there be a shortage when microshaft just had big layoff, seems like you should read a newspaper instead of Heckscher-Ohlin, unemployment > %15

thanks for carreer advice let me know when you get out of 9th grade chump

  • Heckscher-Ohlin is a trade model and not newspaper. Microsoft was lobbing for long term policy because let's face it America doesn't produce enough highly-skilled workers comparatively to other nations.

The layoffs were spread equally between US and international markets. A lot of it was in bloated areas that were not bringing in enough revenue relative to their costs before the global financial crisis. Think tv ads for gaming. 18-24 year old gamers don't watch tv like they used to.

  • What does Heckscher-Ohlin have to do with Bill Gates lying under oath about phony shortage of US tech workers, the fact of the matter he wants cheap labor so he can continue to make 400x what he pays his employees. Nearly everything he says to congress is fraud, yes USA will loose it dominance thats because he wants to hire cheap labor not because of shortage of tech workers or because of low high school math scores.

  • BTW, U3 unemployment is predicated to be roughly 10% right now. U6 which measures unemployment + underemployment is currently well over 15%.

I wasn't giving you career advice, I was discussing labor policy. BTW, I am both employed and a third year college student. I have gotten numerous job offers, but have had to turn down because the hours would conflict with my coursework.

  • no you were just calling us fools and fucks thats all. You do not know what youre talking about, B.G is looking for cheap labor not high quality labor, look at the XBox that was build by recent college grads on the cheap, and it is garbage. Vista was garbage, Zune was failure. Like Sun Microsystems the more cheap foreign labor they hire the worse they become.

  • Youre extremely naive if you believe governments unemployment numbers or believe Bill Gates is and innovator trying to help America stay on top. He is investing most of his resources in India not USA. He is mainly interested in greed not innovation and could care less about America. Nearly every Microsoft product is something invented by non Microsoft person that they reengineered and used their monopoly status to promote.

  • How dare you tell us to be more productive when you can't handle a full time job with full time school, and being in the military along with getting certifications including software, aviaonics, and aviation! STOP bashing us labor force working our asses off! We have righ to complain and demand our country ensure employment first and blockaide others including trade from other nations to ensure we actually are able to produce what we need here especially due to labor arbitrage.

  • Clearly you don't understand how trade works there are short term winers and losers, but the gains are overall worth it in the long run. Wages in China and India have been inflating and will be on par with US wages in the long run. Based on what you say you're doing with serving our country, going to school, and working, I am confident finding good work in your lifetime should not be a problem for you.

  • jrs89 I hope so and I hope you will be able to get a job-- as long as it isn't lobbying your opinions to DC LOL! I'm concerned we are seeing a wealth transfer-- only thing is China/India has too high a population so their wealth gain will be very diluted as we lose our wealth. And I hope I'm wrong cuz most of everyone in DC with ability to fix these things have your same opinion. Here's hoping you're not in day dream land!!!

  • First jrs89, it costs alot to get an education here including all the certifications that Microsoft and Apple charge. That debt load is representative fact of the need for higher wages to pay off the time in study and debt to be repaid. Second, we don't lose out when we require wages, the corporation forces us to lose out my by-passing actual good candidates for cheap labor. Vista was a flop, I wonder why?

  • This Video demonstrates the intelligence of Lou dobbs, or more the lack thereof. Where is it crazy that bringing the best minds in the world together (after they finish studying at our universities) here in our country to lead the in the innovation and creation on new jobs? Isn't that's what America is about?

  • (reply) Create new jobs? Yeah right. Maybe more WalMart Greeter jobs. Stop the empty Bush slogans.

  • I wouldn't doubt that McCain would try to get Gates on the horn to support his own personal interests as a tradeoff. I mean with Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Curt Schilling and just recently "Joe" the plumber, all of which make over $250k - I wouldn't be surprised to see him try to get Gates to influence people to vote Republican as well in another pathetic attempt.

  • Someone needs to ask Gates how bringing in more UNSKILLED foreign workers and then have Americans training them in our own technologies helps keep America competitive. It doesn't. It helps keep FOREIGN countries competitive, not the USA.

  • Until 1998 there were almost no Tandoori, Chinks, or Pakis here at all. It was all white American males. Now that all the 3rd world workers have arrived, the USA's economy is in trouble. Not surprising, given that all these people can't even make their own countries function properly, let alone "help" the USA. Ten years of thrid world trash has trashed the U.S. economy. LOL.

  • gates is doing ALOT more than reasonably well LOL

  • I'm sorry but i'm a singaporean student researching on influx of foreign workers in america and singapore...but i dont really understand what is being discussed in this vid except that Mr.Bill Gates of Microsoft wants to bring in more foreign workers??

Can someone explain to me what is being discussed here?

  • Indian IT has been a fraud from day one. Americans are TRAINING THEM. Most Indians' degrees are fraudulent and unverifiable. Most of them have what we would consider a 7th grade education. The whole thing has been a fraud perpetrated by a poor country who wants what we have. In 1998 India's IT lobby NASSCOM *bought* PR in US media claiming "worker shortages". They want jobs here so they can send our money out of the country as fast as possible. $10,000 USD is a lot of $ in India.

  • Lou Dobbs is amongst the stupidest men on TV, he simply has brought back his dead show based on immigration. Just hard words trying to coerce people to follow his senseless and bizzare ideas.

  • It is funny how you attack one of the only media personalities that gives a shit about you or your future.

If you are really an electronics engineering student as your profile suggests, you must really have your head up your ass.

Ah, the life of a college student. All play and no paycheck. Full of idealism and their parents backing.

  • Well, Bill isn't a traitor, however... His point is one that is more indicative of the lack on real education going on in our schools. He has a company to run and is expressing a need, nothign wrong with that. But we don't go outside for it first. We need tougher mandates on standardized curriculum, audits, and ban tenure... when the noose of public accountability is tighter we'll start to see the bottom line value to the status quo "educator" but we should be surprised with the fallout.

  • if he isn't a traitor then what is he? His strong ties to Jack Abramoff and other insane claims like every h1b visa creates 5 jobs.

Why is he a lobbist now? Is NASA complaining to congress is Buffet? why don't we import h1b nurses to bring healthcare cost down. No i strongly disagree with you he is a traitor.

All of his phone help is in India not America. American's can't run a help desk either i guess.

Google imports significantly less h1b they are doing better than MicroCrap

  • Google provides most of their services free and produces nowhere near the scale of microsoft's enterprise goods and services. As a result, they don't have to offer support like Microsoft does.

The US comparatively gives up less resources to produce a higher-skilled worker than India does. It's more more efficient to train and pay a starving Indian to do something an unskilled American can do when the American could cheaply be retrained to do something more comparatively more productive.

  • wORd

  • Hi I am a recruiter at Microsoft. I recently received your CV and would like to consider you for technical positions on our main campus located in Redmond, Washington. We will be hosting onsite interviews at our campus in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina on May 6th-8th. ...Competition for our positions is very tight this year, so I can't guarantee that we'll have an opportunity to talk with you further; however, --- I like to whine to Congress and complain because profit is down ...

  • and anyone that wants to state other wise can kiss my ass because obviously they have their heads in Microsoft's ass because they are so fucking stupid they can't learn any other type of software!

  • All he has done is ass rape people every 4 years for the past 20 years changing the file format Microsoft uses in there applications so the old one is "obsolete" and they have to spend $300 plus dollars on the new thing again.I mean really come on "windows vista"? wtf is that? All that is would be Microsoft trying to make there own bullshit version of a UNIX system... minus the whole real permissions thing...... For Microsoft the end is near!

  • Bill gates is a bitch.Linux is so much better so is apple/mac(but over priced). If bill keeps this up you will see open source taking a big chunk out of his profit!Lets get real people! The US has the best universities in the world and the best programmers/computer engineers and there is no reason for these people to kiss bill gates aSS.

  • Bill Gates is a traitor, plain and simple. How utterly pathetic to watch our elected congressmen snuggle their noses all the way up Bill Gates ass just because he has money.Put them all in front of a firing squad and America will be a much better place.

  • Good news for americans!!! EU countries are coming up with Blue Card to compete with American Green Card program. Henceforth, so many foreign workers would not come to US. But guess what, keep checking how dollar is doing against Euro. This is gonna be another blow.

  • kurlighaint: Yeah, I'm sure foreign workers will be lining up for an opportunity to work in europe...and pay your exhorbitant tax rates. Foreign workers will go where they can make the most money, and IMO that's the US. EU will pick up some workers with the blue card but it won't make a dent in the quantity or quality the US attracts.

  • JohnR22926: Yes, we cannot estimate how many foreign workers blue card will attract. Also no doubt that as of now US is the top destination for many reasons, including less racism in US!!! Still restrictions such as H1B in US make ppl think of other options!!!Last week Canada came up with new plan. where all international students get 3 year work permit and option to stay permanently afterwards.

  • kurlighaint: I agree there's less racism in the US right now than in Europe. The Europeans are having quite a nationalistic backlash against the flood of immigrants (i.e. EU open borders) from eastern Europe in particular, but also muslims. The US is a nation of immigrants and has always been very tolerant in assimilating new people. Of course the US anti-black racism is still there, but it's unique and isn't applied to immigrants.

  • You cannot topically apply comparative analysis with Canada's situation over ours, our GDP and economic infrastructure vastly out weighs theirs. There are deeply complex issues that cannot be simply glossed over to make an even simpler point. The U.S. is a very unique case indeed, and requires clarity and reason to resolve most issues here, but unfortunately when the payoff between right and wrong is to clear... there are parties withing that don't see a payoff for them, and we get hurt.

  • Lou Dobbs tends to oversimplify the issue greatly. Are there plenty of US tech workers? Sure. This doesn't mean that it's easy to find a US worker who can do the job though, especially in advanced fields.

Often, it's a matter of finding the RIGHT person for a job. Progammers aren't interchangeable, so you can't say "Hey, there are plenty of American programmers! This proves that Bill Gates doesn't need to recruit from outside the USA."

  • There were 100,000 jobs in Technology and Science created last year. US Universities graduated 400,000. Let's see: That's 300,000 unemployed tech's and scientists.

I guess that little subtraction problem is beyond Mr. Gates. He probably ignores any number less than 1 billion.

  • All hail Bill Gates!! :)

The future is global, be courageous to make steps! ;)

  • lou dobbs is a complete idiot...i love how they reported that stuff but not the part where he talked about improving education in the US...

  • No. It has a lot to do with cheap labor than education. It is also about M.O.N.E.Y. US can improve education all they want to but does not matter to people like Bill Gates and US company owners. Besides, well educated and well informed people do not work for like Bill Gates. They take their ideas, make them come true and be successful at them.

  • who said well educated people don't work for Bill Gates? I agree that smart people do stuff on their own, but so many graduate engineers from top schools in America are hired by Microsoft...and many of them are from places like India and China...this "cheap labor" rhetoric is bullshit...Microsoft is a software company where you need to be educated to work, it's not a construction company

  • These people ought to know how demanding Bill Gates is of his working people. I guess they do not know that! LOL If foreign workers are good, why not allow them to work in the US?

After all, and I dont mean to say that all foreign students are geniuses, but why don´t kick out Einstein and Wernhert von Braun, both foreign "workers"?

  • "Microsoft is a software company where you need to be educated to work, it's not a construction company." Uh...that sounds so uneducated.

  • These congressman are such pandering idiots! They are kissing ass based on the fact that he's a billionaire, where does it put the rest of us?

  • Puts us in the dumpster :(

We need to some how as a populous take hold of our country in the most democratic way to modify the constitution: 1) term limits for senators and representatives. Like 2 terms max.

    2) Nationwide vote for their pay rates.

    3) De-monitorize campaign costs using campaign tokens of which each apponent is given equal campaign tokens therefore they're elections are based on true effort not phony hype. And their business is not fund raising.

  • Lou Dobbs is the biggest douche bag on CNN.

  • I'm sure you either have an agenda or are to young to understand the common sense he speaks of.

  • Well, in that case you shoulnd´t have allowed Einstein and Wenhert von Braun, a nazi, to stay in your country as foreign "workers". Not all foreginers are geniuses but if Europe, for example absorbs them, the good ones, you´ll be in big trouble.

  • Einstine was running away from Nazi's who hated Judisam... this is not a conversation about given safe haven or asylem.

Thsi is a different situation, the people we are aquiring over seas now would be the tech people helped place a blast shield for Oppenheimer in the Manhattan project. And we certainly didn't outsorce all of NASA or Mnhattan project overseas. In fact, only 4 or 5 were ever outside our country on most of US technical inventions.

  • Bill Gates and George Soros are cool

  • The key point here is if you don't let people in, jobs are going to move out. People need to decide between having jobs with lower wages or having no jobs. Companies will move jobs out side of US as no company wants to pay more, when it can get the same work done for less. People with myopic view miss out the broader picture, its more profitable for US to let these people in than move jobs out. These people pay taxes, spend most of their money in US which helps economy.

  • You are myopic. You see we settle for lower wages and still lower incomes these VISA people don't spend nearly the same amount of money here, they send it back to family. As for corporations sending it overseas... that's an easy fix. It's called a real trade policy that protects all involved. Because either importing workers or exporting the production, it has the same lowering of wealth effect even on the corporations themselves (they're shooting themselves in the foot over the long run).

  • we are in deep shit.. this is part of a MUCH BIGGER AGENDA. america won't be "america" in about 15 years. we need to WAKE UP!!

  • NO THEY SUCK!

    Are you fucking kidding me?

Americans are #1, and Bill Gates is a traitor.

  • Indian engineers are world class.
