@uphill248 More memory on a GPU is useful for only one thing, playing on higher resolutions. So it depends on your setup, if you're gonna use EyeFinity to play Crysis at 5026x**** on 3 monitors then yes the 4GB may be useful. Otherwise just stick with a 1GB model which will run Crysis 1920x1200 maxed out very smoothly

Lol ok I admit my first comment was trolling but in all honesty I'm not a ati hater. Reasoni don't have an ati card is simply because the 5970 wasn't out when i did my yearly upgrade. dx11 is like dx10 when it "came out" if you remember that. Any game with it had really no difference because they weren't ready for it, and the few cards out could hardly use it because the dx11 itself was at about 20%of its potential. Think of it when consoles come out, the graphics aren't half what they could be.

yeah the mobo is rotated 90 degrees, so the outputs and I/O shield is at the top, this improves air flow, and pumps the heat UP where it would move naturally, and the video cards are veritcal. looks great for the price too

Well the 3dGameMan has 2 Gforce GTX295's in his computer. So from a prfessionals perspective he must think Nvidia is better than ATI. Maybe he's an Nvidia fan boy. For me i think both brands are good and support only the latest and greatest at the time. I baught a new computer last month and put an Nvidia card in it. So in about 5 yrs time when i get a new computer i may go for ATI provided that their drivers are rock solid and reliable.

Really? SLI worked great for me what i had two 7950 GT's. with one card i averaged 66fps in FEAR and with SLI i got 126fps. (used the in game benchmark) Pretty damn close to double the fps if you ask me.

ati needs to make it bigger even with a smaller nm because with the same nm and size as the gtx 295 it wont be as powerful. ati has to make it bigger with a smaller transister size to get it to perform slightly worse than the gtx 295. ati fails.

The GTX295 is dual GPU and as such, does not always scale the way it should. The 5870 is a single GPU card that uses less power and has more room for driver improvements.

A smaller nanometer process is actually a good thing.

In the end, they'll have to pay money. So you want the best for your money right? The best for you money is the 5870. Because it has very close the performance of the 295 at way lower cost plus its a single card. Non of that SLi crap you have to deal with in games.

Yes. I had a R600 in here before, and the RV870 is an inch longer. It will fit with not much room before the hard drive cage. That's why the power connectors are back on the top again like in my R600, instead of on the front-side. Your case has very good airflow anyways, so I'd say go for it!
