  • Sweet now try it on a laptop :P

  • can you tell me how the hard drive leds are made so i can make a space ship in my case.

  • @30jspecial I based my electronics on the hard drive VU meter article on gideontech

  • @jediknight0 thanks man, i will try it. to make space ship , i was thinking about a zalman 9500 , cut some fins down a little to make it rounder , face it down so the blue fan is down blowing up and rap it with a loop of lights that are hard drive meters so when it is in use the ship will appear to be doing something .

  • can you tell me how the hard drive leds are made so i can make a space ship in my case.

  • hands down the ugliest/cheapest casing ever... sorry.. but its truth.

  • dont like it. Good work on the design. But its a bit over the top

  • I like how you named the controls on the case as 'Manual Override'........Khan could've used something similar...good work.

An idea though......how about a saucer section encompassing the upper area around the CD-ROMs?? Then mount the ROM into the saucer section. The front of the saucer could slide out whenever you hit the open button.

  • that mod is so awsome!

  • looks cool but that mouse looks uncomfortable as hell lol

  • it's a good mod but not my style... don't like it that much but it is really good work. keep on with this!

  • same

  • i dare u to make death star mod^^

  • Really Nice! I would be affraid to install a water cooling unit in a computer.....what if it leaked?

  • Actually, it's not water - but a non-conductive fluid that (in theory) won't short anything out if it leaks.

    It's called "Fluid XP".

Of course, the CPU/GPU will heat up something horrible without any coolant...

  • @jediknight0 There's one way to find out if its non-conductive, dump it on a motherboard you don't care about.

  • nice one mate! favorited , rated 5 stars! yeah baby!

  • rofl

  • rolf

  • ROFLMAO!!! It has Bunny Ears. LOL!!!

  • lol nc

  • Very good!!!!!

  • OMFG very very very nice mod dude

  • very nice, keep it up, i wish i had a HDD activity meter as well, miss it so much

  • how does the hdd light activity work?

  • Based on the HD activity signal on the motherboard, the engines light up. The longer the signal stays on, the more LEDs in the engines light up. When the signal stops, one by one the LEDs go out. But this all happens within 1 second, leading to the fade-in, fade-out effect based on activity. Kinda like a VU-meter.

  • though i'm not so much of a star trek as i am a star wars fan i must admit this is among the coolest things i've seen yet, lol. 5/5!

  • I gave you 5/5 best mod I had seen :) The mouse scared me haha but very well build I wish you luck man

  • nice job, lots of thought put into it.

  • Hahah Wow. I'm not much of a Star Trek, more towards Star Wars. Actually a ton more.

But this is a great mod! I love the HDD activity lights and pretty much everything else.

    Good work.

  • Personally, I never got into Star Trek or Star Wars for that matter, but I would have to say that this is so well done that even a non-Trekkie can enjoy it. 5 Stars. Hopefully you place top 3.
