I agree that most american horrors are now basically gore with softcore porn (I swear, there's always some sort of sex scene in the middle of all of them now). But to be more critical of asian movies, a lot of them have a very repetitive "long black haired woman" and/or some "scary-looking kid" in their movies. Of course they're all very sad and well-thought of in terms of plot, but I hope to see some variation of ghosts sometime in the near future at least.. :/

At least they have back stories. American ones WERE initially good until the late 80s. Then they started getting back. The Exorcist still freaks me out.
i have the original version, not released by lionsgate films...this is a classic horror film hichcock would have made. i love the atmosphere with this movie..this movie is now one of my favs

Oh yes, it's excellent. It contains very few scare scenes but will make you deeply, deeply uncomfortable throughout the course of the movie. And, at the end, there is an enormous twist which will leave you dazzled. Definitely a must see if you're into Asian horror movies.

There are great American horror films that blow crap like The Ring away. Why does everybody have a hard on for Japanese horror films? They have their good films but they sure as hell have their share of garbage. I think it's just a fad for young people to say they are into Japanese shit, like the many young kids that are into anime.

in my personal experience, beyond the classics, i have never been scared by an american horror film. they are all much too predictable and follow similar formulas.

It's not a zombie movie. It has nothing to do with zombies. And I don't think the infection is even real in the movie, but it is open ended, not explained, it was meant to be that way.

No, if it needs to be explained outside of the movie, it's not a real explanation. It's how the writer of the claims interpreted. Wikipedia especially is often full of shit and opinions about stuff like this. There's a bunch of simpsons comic book guys writing crap all over the net.
