it occurs when Joker finishes talking to Commissioner Gordon and hangs up the phone.(HANGS UP!) Later when Joker is fighting Batman the Commissioner & Chief O'Hara can hear it. How can they still hear when Joker had already hung up the phone??
Good try but you're wrong. There are two phones in the room and that's why Joker thinks that Batman is talking over the phone to him from the Commissioner's office. Batman doesn't hang up his phone so Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara would have been able to hear everything.
What mystifies me is that a lot of fanboys cannot make room in their heads for more than one or two interpretations. You might love the 60s campy version but hate the more serious incarnations, or vice versa. I'm a fanboy and at least I'm broad-minded; stop taking yourselves so seriously, guys. We should be thankful that Bob Kane created a pop cultural legend that can be interpreted and reborn in so many different ways!
Agreed. I think all the Jokers are great in their own way: Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Mark Hamill (PAVED THE WAY FOR FUTURE JOKERS!!!), Kevin Michael Richardson, and (in Brave and the Bold) Jeff Bennet, though I haven't seen him as Joker yet.
well this was from back then. not much acting was very skillful back then. i cant say that about Titanic or Godfather, but im not sure when they were made.
How narrow-minded do you think people are? That's like saying "I DON'T CARE IF THE ACTING SUCKS IN A MOVIE, AS LONG AS IT'S HD!!!" The whole point of watching the movie is for the story and the acting.
What a beautiful video! The acting is terrible, and where, might I ask, did all those henchmen come from? Why weren't they with Joker to begin with? Oh it's so corny, it's beautiful!
all of the versions of Joker were great in my opinion, though Jack and Heith are my favorites. Still if any director were to make a new cind of Joker I think it would be best to make a mixture of Jack and Heath. As mad and brutal as Heith Ledger but looks pretty alike Jack Nicholson's Joker
I like Heath joker a lot better, it has elements from all jokers, the only difference is that he only wants to see Gotham burn, thats what makes him so cool. he is really smart, an anarchist, he doesnt believe in rules and plans yet he makes these really complex plans in order to at the end just cause chaos in Gotham, hes unlikely genius, always geting the best of batman and the GPD, plus anyways he ahs the best laugh so far. i never liked Nicholson's joker, it was just another role for jack.
Cesar Romero was great in his role as The Joker. There is one performance that I will always remember. On an episode of Chico and the Man, Romero played Chico's estranged father. If I remember correctly, it aired on the night that Freddie Prinze shot himself. Does anyone have any footage of that?
Mmm, classic. Caesar Romero was such a great Joker. I watched the re-runs of this as a kid. I love this Joker, Hamill's Joker and Ledger's Joker since that's who I've seen and they're all great.
I hate how everyone is arguing over who's the "Best" Joker. Every Joker has been great and it's unfair to compare them since they all reflect their own time periods. If you prefer Jack's Joker that's fine, but don't deride the others just because you don't like them.
This Joker is more like 50's-60's style. A violent prankster. Jack Nicholson is more like the 70's-80's Joker; a mad psycho genius; a clown's personality with the heart of a villain. Heth's Joker is more of like the original Joker; dark, bizarre, and mass murderer. Personally, I like Jack's better because he plays the Joker I grew up with but it all depends on the version you like best. Dark, nutty, or psychotic.
good god have movies come a long way. im gunna get a lot of thumbs down for this but if this same movie was released today rather than back then you know it'd be considered a piece of shit B movie
haha i think drleeland may be a bit fucked in the head. batman original comics were deeply gothic, and its completely camped up with this. not to say its bad, but batman works better as a gothic character, and heath ledgers joker brings the menace out. if a character can make you feel a bit off edge then thats someone acting the role well, this joker just doesnt do it for me (but dont worry im not dissing the classic, its just a bit camp for me)
appropriate for he era, but this joker was the worst of all time, end of story, i still think hes pretty decent thought but the rest are 100 times better
Joker taking over a museum? Looks like the 1989 movie borrowed more from the West series than we think. (I think there was an episode where Penguin ran for mayor too!)
I'm starting to think you are right, to tell you the truth I'm not so thrilled by the idea of Ledger as joker, makes me feel guilty to think that now that he is gone.
This joker is one of the very few things I like from the 60's series.
go on.............keep marchin threw your tragic world......your opinion sucks, imagine being tied down in your world, i can't....... assholes like you give opinions a bad name......burgess merideth, cesar romaro, and i cant think of the riddlers name may they all rest in peace........you my friend better get cremated, for you, will rot in hell......scumbag
