  • High school drops out and why the administration of schools don't like it is each student = X money to the district, say 6,500 to 12k a year. So if they drop out that is money lost. I say to a child, if you truly do not want to be here, drop out, and teach yourself and find those who you wish to learn from.

  • Mike Huckabee the pentagon was shown a virus that can erradicate the God gene and they were told it could have effective and positive results if released in the middle east. I say you personally need that virus, and so do most of the 'true Christians' in the US. I say pentagon please release that virus and let it spread throughout the world so we can be free from religion rather than having a freedom of religion oppress us.

  • This guy is so awesome. I love listening to him talk.

  • Kudos from "socialist" Scandinavia to Fox News for featuring this hero of mine, I have to say though that my main source for judging the channel comes from republican satire so it´s great to be proven a bit wrong about other ppl from time to time ;)

  • Shit, I actually agree with Huckabee on something.

    Ken Robinson is amazing though

  • my god i agree with huckabee.... i must go hang myself

  • If you want to purchase any book, buy it from your local independent book store

so the money will stay in your local economy. May cost more but most of the money stays local (up to 80%), less than 30% if you buy from a national chain or online.

  • Sir Ken Robinson and Mr. Huckabee, Thank you for your comments about creativity and how we educate our children...we cannont do it in one day but we need to get it started. Science and math are nothing without imnagination. We would not have airbags in our cars today if it weren't for the creative minds using origami (an ancient art form), an artist and an engineer. How do you think we got those hugh mirrors in space for the the telescope--the art form oigami and VERY CREATVEW MINDS!!!!!!

  • Dear WOW ,that's what i thought, so i said Wow here's someone smart enough to get that. I kinda liked Huckabee although he's on the wrong team. But now he's just another politician whore, whose religion and politics are based on greed (Mammon) not the truths we all so desperately need right now.

  • WOW he interupted him as soon as he mentioned the pharmaceutical inustry... now thats brainwashing.

  • Freeze it on 5:46! That teenager was soooo excited. "I have ADHD!" LMAO.

  • Ken robinson is nothing short of a modern genius imho

  • @rODIUMuk "Across the United States, excluding South Carolina, a total of 2,965,286 public school students received a high school diploma in 2007–08, resulting in an Averaged Freshman Graduation Rate (AFGR) of 74.9 percent (table 1)1. This rate ranged from 51.3 percent in Nevada to 89.6 percent in Wisconsin. The median state AFGR was 76.4 percent." nces.ed.gov/pubs2010/2010341.pdf

  • Kind of annoyed me that the anchor thought he meant we need more people in music and art. (which is true) but not what he's saying. We need people in positions that they love so that they can innovate and develop. Push the envelop. Damn fox news

  • one in three leave what school?

  • Tho BOOK is AMAZING!!! Easy read inspiring and just greatly written good job Sir!

  • I want him as my teacher

  • @Mu5clehead He is your teacher, only difference is that you can pause and rewind him at your own will and learn from him when and where you want. He teaches you how to approach learning rather than filling you with facts and figures recited from a 'teachers edition'.

  • @Underthebones sound logic, wise sir.

  • @Mu5clehead I know what you mean though, I shudder to imagine how much more I would have learned at school if my teachers even half-way resembled Ken Robinson

  • @Mu5clehead

well, yes. sounds logic. but it isnt´t. it is the only fact, that precisely that education system paul mccartney enjoyed made paul mccartney (with a countless number of other circumstances). there is not one logic reason to evaluate any achievement above another or no achievement at all. the core of ken robinsons idea is a failure, though he means well. "human resources" are not to be measured or expressed in economic value.

  • @gerdgrauer There's no such thing as absolute truth in that context unless we're talking about math or science.

Always keep in mind each one has their own paradigm of the world only 'cause their mind makes it seem real to them, it's not that they're being logical or illogical but what makes sense to them.

What would be your advice in thriving in this current global economy?

Thanks for replying with you insight btw.

  • @Mu5clehead

tough question. i am flattered to be asked, but do you really need advice? i don´t have one.

in my eyes the idea of a unconditional basic income would make an enourmous difference in worshiping human existence. what i critisize in economic thinking is that the individuum is forced to be of any use. you can´t eat picasso paintings. this is my absolute truth for the moment. and now? watch a woody allen movie. thanks for reading.

  • I respect him a lot :)

    he's doing a great job..

  • See Sir Ken Live in Norwich UK on The 18th of November. I'm lucky I live in Norwich I'll be there go to his web site 'around the world' tab or search specialist education.

  • Does this mean all the "rebels" get refunds from their therapists? ...Honestly it's kind of depressing to watch advancements in human education... I mean you are happy for the coming generations... but can't help but feel shortchanged and no doubt, unfairly resentful! What a bittersweet kick to my 21 senses! Yeah, I said 21... Google it!

  • Comment removed

  • Agreed!

  • Absolutely true!-

  • Sir Ken Robinson in Norwich for just £115... on the 18th november 2010 (search specialist education)

  • I was a teacher for 23 years and one of the reasons I left is because I could no longer work within a "system" that is more like a conveyor belt for corporations.

What Ken says about ADHD is something that I have agreed with, for years.

I've often dreamed of a world where everyone lives true to their talents & yet everything still works really well. In fact, even better than currently.

Remember this little gem? -> asamanthinkethsoishe[dot]com Never truer words spoken! Cheers, Thea

  • Sir Ken Robinson for global secretary of education!

  • @McSnookerman I'll 2nd that!

  • ADD and ADHD has become an illness where it's chief symptoms are talent, ability and success.

. Yet children who get average grades and do what their teachers tell them with out question, do not suffer from a mental disorder?

its more than just the money making drug companies, it is also bad teachers covering their asses in order to keep the jobs they do not deserve.

  • Robinson is truly a brilliant speaker and quite influential. Huckabee just does not seem to get it. Huckabee seems like you can just plug creativity back in, when the holes in the education system are already over plugged. We need education transformation, and need to pay attention to what children are telling us.

  • Read Simplicity Parenting by Kim John Payne, if you agree that overstimulation is causing our kids so many problems, he has the solution too!

  • Ive known many that have been "diagnosed" with AD/HD and I can assure you they dont have this condition, but think they do because some ignorant doctor told them so!

Its amazing how easy they stereotype you for having a mental condition these days when you in fact you could just be someone that gets confused with all this chaos around you and as a normal person can not cope with it!

Instead of targeting this confusion as the problem, they target You, the person, as having a disorder.

    How sad

  • I love this Guy, Sir Ken Robinson you are the Man!!!!!

  • Huckabee has a talk show?!

  • I hate how "download" is used as a catchall term for anything involving the exchange of information.

  • It is important that people understand the formula of relativity. We need to relate to things according to our requirement. Sir Ken is a good guideline for those who need a direction!!!

  • This is great - and I could not agree more. Teaching subjects = Data download is exactly what creates docile workers but not creative entrepreneurs. It's at best half of the skill set people need in a fast changing global society. What we really need - but many societies fear - is people who are able to think critically.

  • I day dreamed a lot a school, but wasn't ADHD. I just wasn't interested in much of the stuff that was taught. I took in bits here and there, but the vast majority of it didn't attract my attention much. So for me I would say the current education system isn't inclined, shall we say. I could be an unassuming Einstein without knowing it. Time + light = God. My dad died recently and it's brought my thoughts of the whole cosmos into the viewer. That's a little equation I came up with.

  • Would you like to explain your 'equation', or will you continue to look retarded?

  • Your mother plus your father = you.

  • Well, that explained nothing. I'm still waiting for you to give some proof to your silly pseudoscientific 'equation'

  • This is great, thanks for upload.

  • Do schools kill creativity? If creativity was a person schools would be it's concentration camp! I think that young people are going through a creativity holocaust perpetrated by teachers especially ones who hate their jobs. Everyone who agrees this is a disgusting inconvenient truth give me a thumbs up. BTW I'm only twenty years old and I understand this.

  • @74u73hjd WOW! Well expressed: & you being a member of the critically influenced age group (thank you) are validating my hunch that-drop out and suicide rate's increases are NOT (blaming the victim paradigm) solely originating within each student, so much-as it is that they are dynamically desperately responding to an irrelevant bankrupt obsolete institution. The national precepts credit more value to consumer satisfaction designs that to learner prerequisites.

  • @CeeGeeZ I have a new profile now come see!

  • @74u73hjd teachers are just the foot soilders of the clandestine rulers and archtects of hate and death.

  • This (or anything with Ken Robinson) is a must-see for all parents whose children are not flourishing in school.

  • @sarahkauai even whose children are excelling in school must see this as they might be intelligent thats why they do well, they might not enjoy it or love doing it...

  • The popular music group! Ha! Nice description!
