  • Glad to get the confirmation! =)

  • There's a great story about the filming of this video. The linedancers were taking a smoke break outside and this ned kid came up and said, 'You're a nun. You're not supposed to smoke.' To which the 'nun' replied, 'fuck off'

  • @theshane101 YEAH I WAS ONE OF THE LINEDANCERS AND THAT WAS MY FRIEND THAT WAS SMOKING LOL

  • My nipples get hard whenever I hear this song.

  • Truly beautiful and one of the bands that I miss most.

  • good stuff, but i dont understand why 2 minutes of the first song were cut off

  • @mastertransit orchestrated six-minute jamz don't go over so well on radio. unless you're Queen or something

  • I found this band because of the opening to gunslinger girl.

    Thank you gunslinger girl

  • Sadly missed very wonderful band. Was lucky enough to see them twice and was so impressed both by the band and the amount of red wine that disappeared on stage. I always loved the great way Emma played her guitar.

  • fantastic band like greggo 2 been in my top 10 albums 2 it is a wee gem

  • I own a record store. Out of the many thousand albums I own, The Great Eastern has sat for the past eight (!) years in my top ten list. I love it more than Rubber Soul, but not as much as The White Album (or the 3rd VU album). It's funny how far in front of Peloton this album is: in some ways it seems like a completely different band.

Oh- and when the DGs toured in Canada last, a roadie gave me a giant Great Eastern poster after the show in Toronto. It's hanging in my store. I miss them.

  • great eastern was a fantastic album.

  • I agree, It is amazing to see know little of them people know. I for one am glad to know of them though. I have heard every album, including live ones and I must say it never gets boring. And yes, once again their voices are amazing.

  • Never got ta see 'em play live, such a shame 'cos they sound like scotland...on a drunken thursday afternoon, singing out of tune. Oh yes they do!

  • @stutaggart Cant say I disagree stu. I could but I would seem a wee bit nuts....oh...wait....ah! Now am replyin to me own msgs. D'oh!

  • @stutaggart lol

  • Along with TFC and B&S The Delgados are among the greatest EVER Scottish bands. You cannot knock tunes and talent this great. Lesser bands should listen and then give straight up.

  • I really miss these guys....The great eastern is one of my fav albums, much love.....

  • Hey guys, I just want to express my appreciation for your music. Although I wish you were given proper recognition among the masses, please know that the ones that have heard your music are truly touched by the results of your efforts. And in some ways the lack of more commercial success makes all of you seem more genuine & endearing. Granted this doesn't feed your stomachs, in some ways it makes you true artists in my mind. Best wishes to you all & your Indie label: Chemikal Underground.

  • I truly agree with naejin.

One of the most wonderful moments in my life was this Delgados concert near Toulouse. I even didn't know their faces but this evening was a magical storm. This is the way I discovered "No danger" and especially "Keep on breathing", and I know I'll never forget this.

  • An ex girlfriend stole the cd from me some 9 years ago... First listen since and I still know the words - great song from an underappreciated band.

  • divine

  • does anyone have a video or footage for 'aye today'? i love that song...

  • Please note that this is a cut version. Original song lasts for 6.03 minutes appearing on 'The Great Eastern'.

  • Make it 6.32 actually :)

  • yeah i just found this band by reading a Audio mixing book

  • Really cant believe how few people know of them. Their voices are amazing. I only found them on accident but i am glad i found them.

  • 'If only everything in life was as reliable as a Volkswagen'.

  • Kids choir version is also on iTunes on an album called "Out of our heads on Skelp"

  • Great song and video. The 7" contains the kids choir version.

  • where could i get this version with children chorus? i only can find the album version, but it's different than this.

  • You'll pick the single version up on e-bay pretty easily; for the UK less than £3 including p+p normally. [Not that I'm selling].

  • I'd go along with the comment below. This track is a lost gem, and I love that video - so surreal but with great charm - and it makes me glad I live where I do!

  • of the 60,000 or so songs i own, this is certainly in the top 30 or so pop songs...brilliant.

  • i can hear the stranglers, Duchess, in this. And the Rodneys are queuing up, God forbid

  • And Kris Kristoffersson! "Take that ribbon from your hair..."

  • Rarely seen as video shot for Mercury award show, not with general distribution in mind. (It's the CD single version of the song). It was planned, shot & finished in 2 weeks in time for the award ceremony.

  • Can't believe The Delgados played a gig in Orkney 3/4 years ago and I didn't bother to go! One of my favourite bands now.

  • Their last gig was early 2005.

  • This is my favourite song in the world! It always leaves me tingling! It is a complete masterpiece! The delgados have been very under rated I would even dear put them next to Pink Floyd and other greats in the talent stakes. Thanks for posting!

  • Thatz called Drama Klass End Of

  • Sucks that it's shortened, but this is a very cool video, and the song is slightly different from the CD version, but it works :D

  • I don't remember the kids chorus. I like it though. :)

  • buenisima canción, me encanta esta banda.

  • Perfect! Bloody shame there are so many cloth eared people in this world.

  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time from one of my favorite bands ever. In the right mood this song makes me cry like a little girl.

The Delgados are one of the most amazingly underrated bands of all time.

  • I agree with all you say! (Except the little girl thing, because I'm a boy...)

  • what a song!

  • fantastic!!
