After all, that IS why the audience waits until the ENTIRE work is finished to applaud vs. clapping in between each movement.

First, it's not a song, it's a symphony. And also, while this IS the second movement, both the "Ode To Joy" and this are part of the same symphony. Plus, Ode To Joy is actually the name of the poem that Schiller wrote, not the music Beethoven wrote. People either call it the "Choral" Symphony, or just call it the 9th Symphony. It doesn't really have a name, we just call it the 9th symphony because he had written eight other symphonies, this would make it the ninth.
