  • Those people didn't even have the decency to chant Tigh

  • I actually shed a few tears watching this scene. Tigh looks an empty man. Bent. Broken.

  • I've only seen the series once but I must respectfully disagree with that "Not all of 'em" is the saddest moment in the series. For me, it was when Roslin died and they had finally found Earth but their journey there had reduced hope and eventhough they had completed the journey to a new home, it felt like they had lost EVERYTHING. That's when I lost it and wept like a baby.

  • @Tanax13 cheers for the spoiler cock-chops

  • @Stevo6483 You're welcome! :)

  • ...And yet, all I can think is "Adama! Adama! Adama!"

  • Sadder than "Earth", the death of Starbuck, Boomer, Roslin, or Dee. More heat-wrenching than the abduction of Hera from her mother, the destruction of Pegasus, or the degredation of Galactica. "Not all of them" is THE saddest and lowest part of the series. The characters are lucky to be dead or simply scarred. Many are now alone.

  • this ep was so sad because the two most badass characters on the show break down, it made me cry!!

  • me gf broke up. she liked galactica too. we had a long distance relationship.

i went to her. asked why, asked if can heal.

    i brought myself home..

    "not all of me..."

  • NOT ALL OF 'EM!

  • Definitely reminiscent of Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings.

  • Beautiful piece - and utterly heartbreaking when Saul Tigh says, "not all of them" and shuffles off a broken man, alone...

  • Exactly

  • This, and "So Much Life", are by far the best.

  • I have a confession to make people... I've never watched Battlestar Galactica :/ ive downloaded the entire season 3 soundtrack album by mistake but decided to listen to it and it made me cry and reflect on my life .. Lol wow that was really stupid of me hahaha ;) Ima buy the DVD tonite....

  • @RougeRandalExile; I just watched the episode and cried again. Watching Tigh walk away a broken man hits me so hard, then Kara just kills me. The ending is so frakking hard to watch.

  • One of my favorite songs in the series. Seeing two tough characters like Kara and Tigh break down really hits an emotional high. The song, like the situation it covers, is so bitter sweet, and absolutely devastating, that you can't help but truly feel for these people. Great end to the best episode ever in BSG.

  • I think that this is one of the most beautiful songs that I've ever heard!

  • This is suprisingly what I found to be the saddest moment in the course of the entire show. I say suprisingly because it is when just about everybody has been saved.. but Colonel Tigh walking through that crowd with the dead look of grief... absolutely heartbreaking.

  • He got better.

    :)

  • You can tell that Kara Thrace was devastated when she found out that Kacey was not her child. No matter how tough her exterior might have been. In this moment, she showed that she was a real human being like the rest of us.

  • I want to capture theat bit of the song 3:15 to 3:38 and keep it forever, it's so hauntingly beautiful....

  • This is one of the moments ... one of the very, very powerful moments, that made me love the character Saul Tigh. In the beginning you think this guy is just a drunk bully who likes throwing his rank around - you learn that he has his problems, as do we all... and moments like these just tear your heart out when you realize the man had such feeling, ideas, principles, morals... Saul Tigh is by far my favorite BSG character.

  • This is my favourite of all of Bear McCreary's music. I love the way it counteracts what should be a joyous occasion. The way you see that they're back on the ship, but they've lost so much all the same. Gorgeous music.

  • It really is one moving scene, his voice breaking and as he just walks away as everybody celbrates, adama looks back at him realisig something is wrong. I loved this episode for the right reasons.

  • This part of the episode is one of the most moving i've seen... So many different emotions are portrayed in so short a time, pain, grief, honour, respect...

Tigh's acting in this scene is superb, his heartfelt emotion is breathtaking. I don't know what hits me more, Tigh walking away unacknowledged for everything he has done... or Adama looking back at him as he walks away.!

If I could compare this scene to anything it would be Boromir dieing in the Fellow of the Ring... Pure bliss!

  • I know Adama couldn't be on new caprica because then the show couldn't have continued but I would have liked to have seen a bit more of the despair Adama must have went through stuck up on Galactica for 4 months worrying for everyone he loved. Tigh walking away from the celebration was one of the saddest scenes

  • When I watched this and with the music too...it made me cry...literally. I felt bad for Tigh and Kara. Tigh...I didn't exactly like the man but at that moment...I cried for him. Nothing matters to him...

  • The whole New Caprica Arc was some of the best TV ever! It had the most jaw dropping cliff hangers. Who can forget Callie running away from where the refugees were going to be executed, the sounds of machineguns being fired and the credits rolling at that instant as the screen goes black. What about Duck blowing himself up? Then the arc ends with Tigh, after being put through the wringer of hell, shuffling off, alone and broken after giving everything.

  • sehr schönes lied

  • This kind of reminds me of Adiago for Strings. I will never forget the devastated look on both Tigh and Starbuck. The New Caprica arc was truly one of the highlights of a truly fantastic show.

  • Indeed, when Tigh's voice breaks as he says "not all of them...", powerful stuff

  • Definitely. I know some guys never cry at movies, but if the combination of that scene and this music doesn't at least get a tear to you eyes then you just don't have a heart, plain and simple.

  • I watched this episode a few days ago, and when Tigh said "Not all of them," the sheer pain in his voice nearly reduced me to tears, then as he walked away, unnoticed and unappreciated, I couldn't help it, and I wept for the man.

  • @DarkBladeAngel And I care because?

  • @Clooud you have no soul dude.

  • @DarkBladeAngel Absolutely with you on that. I didn't cry until the last episode when I first watched BSG but I rewatched the whole series for the second time recently and I just lost it at this point.

  • This is, without a doubt, the saddest music of the whole series. You feel Colonel Tighs' pain as he walks out of the hangar deck as the freed colonials celebrate. I'm devastated too that the show is over, but don't despair, Caprica is just as good, it's different, but just as good and I hope all BSG fans will give it a chance.

  • There is no chance brother.... all our belover ppl... gone...gone for good.Forsooth,I despair.

  • I don't know a better way to describe pure hopelessness, anger, grief, sadness, depression, bitterness, lack of faith and all those sad emotions we all will feel some day, than this piece of music.

When I listen to this, I feel touched and empty. Like there isn't anything to do here anymore, just like Saul Tigh probably felt when he got out of that raptor... Nothing matters anymore.

  • God, my heart just aches knowing this show is over.

  • I know how ya feel. I remember this part of the series though.. I'm re-watching once my previous co-worker gets done watch 2 and 3.. I've already watched the whole miniseries again, and started a good bit on season 1. I don't want to say goodbye to BSG yet!

  • Fuck yea battlestar returns in 30 mins PEACE!

  • When Bill says to Saul "you brought em home" and Saul sadly replies "Not all of them." and this music is playing ABSOLUTLY BREATH TAKING

  • Yeah, I really loved that scene. I loved that after all Tigh went through leading the resistance, losing his eye, losing Ellen, he still had the presence of mind to ask Adama "Permission to come aboard, sir".

It was also heartbreaking to watch after all he did for everyone on New Caprica, that everyone lifted Adama up and chanted his name as Tigh walked away un-noticed.

  • @PsychoDelicCinema yes it is... still in german, too....

  • @PsychoDelicCinema One of the best scenes of the series. Immensely powerful.

  • All i can say is wow there is a reason why this brings so many emotions back. #2 favourite bsg song now

  • 1:26 is where it really begins. It's just... wow.

  • all these big time music people... all those movie songs.... and here come young bearand ...in my opinion, blew em all away with this simple sci fi program. Battlestar galactica is one of the best shows of all time... id say 50% because of the music created for this show... it became a masterpeice when unseen vision collided with unheard themes.sorrow is allways triumphant, leading to death-the very evil witch gives us insight of the depths of out beauty.Namarie So Say We All

  • Amen Brotha. Bear is a Maestro in every sense of the word

  • the only words to describe listening to this is "perfection"!!!! it makes me feel a whole alot of emoitions and i feel deep...

  • this music makes me sad and hapy at the same time

  • the best ones do...

  • You can feel the joy of crew members being reunited with the other crew members but feel the pain of Colonel Tigh and Kara in this song. It is so joyful but yet so sad. That is the best work of art is when you can feel all the emotions in the moment.

  • The first four hours of this season were the finest TV I've ever seen and was - for me - the most favourite of the show. It culminated with the scene of Tigh, ambling of the landing deck , a broken man. It will be many years before this is bettered, if ever. Bear's music, as always, says it all.

  • i feel so sad for tigh all he has been trough with ellen and then every1s cheering adama but has forgot about him. Zeemmarax is right he has been to hell and back

  • that moment with Tigh, and them cheering adama, made me cry.

  • When Tigh gets off that ship.... Its just amazing. One man to hell and back.

  • This was the height of the show. You see Colonel Tigh, a broken man, limping off of the Raptor. This is the peak of television.

  • @javaman9999 This comment gave me chills. I know exactly what you mean.

  • I can picture Kara finding out Casey isn't her's or Colonel Tigh telling the Admiral that Ellen is dead. it hurts a little and I can feel there pain

  • this kinda makes me sad

  • good song theres a specail feeling about it
