  • It was year 1982!!

The look of Agnetha is clear!

    Song is mystical!

  • Look at her smile at 1.05s.

    Agnetha I love you !!!

Karin where are you....i miss you !!!

  • Very atmospheric video with stunning scenery, beautiful people and meaningful lyrics it captures the fashion and mood of the early eighties perfectly.

And Agnetha - she and only she could make such a ordinary mundane life, which is what the song is about, send shivers down my spine with the way it is sung and interpreted by her incredible vocals and sometimes cheeky playful smiles in the video - there will never be another like her or Abba, these memories are priceless.

  • yes , i agree Very athmospheric with stunning scenery,

Ps. Get off the drugs kid!

  • best song of ABBA !!!

  • Awesome song, awesome-sounding (and looking!) singer and awesome quality! Just awesome! One of my all time favorite songs, period. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for ABBA, even when it wasn't "hip" to like them, lol, and this song is a good example why their music has endured for that long. They're even gaining new fans now (many of whom weren't even born during ABBA's heyday), thanks to Mamma Mia, the play and the movie, which is great.

  • @Fawzy Yeah, I was born in 1993, which was over ten years after they broke up. I first started listening to them around three years ago, and they're now my favourite band!

You can feel the sense of the group disbanding here (this being the last song they recorded ever). I wouldn't go as far to say that it was their best song (way too many options to pick from...), but it's definitely somewhere in the top ten for me.

  • Awesome quality!

  • I agree, I can't get over how absolutely breathtaking she is looking, I've never seen the video before, I sat up last night and must have watched it ten times.. this is a most beautiful track, moody haunting, melancholy, reflective and so different to anything they did before.. in my top ten all time favourites

  • She was stunning in this video. The look she gives at 1:04 onwards makes me shudder. If someone like her looked at me like that I think I would have passed out :)

  • Boy...how this takes me back.

This has to be one of the best songs by Abba.

I just wonder how many songs were left in the locker.

Oh yes. How beautiful does Agnetha look. She was the one for me. xxxx

  • Close Davidcuf....I see the mundane life as a dead marriage. Husband an absent distant workaholic type. She loves him but cannot take living a life without aim. Must be a lot how Erin Woods is feeling trapped in a house with an emotionally distant fake husband. Video is flashback and some dejavu . The day she leaves has same weather and feelings as the day before they met.

  • This sint my favourite Abba song, but it is my favourite video that they made

    awsome thanks for posting

Would you believe in general i hate old songs? im always looking for the newest songs, but Abba is an exeption. I love almost all their songs

  • The man in the begining of this video is coming from the part of the platform with no entrance.

    Sum: Not logical ;)

  • The Man in the video is named Tiger Woods. This song was written for Erin 30 plus years before its time. One of the best divorse song in all music as it is a self protrait from ABBA's own personal marriages.

  • I agree about beatles being over rated.. as was elvis..

  • trop fort ca c une chancon

de toute facon c toute leur chancon c de la tnt

    un pur groupe

  • The lyrics - how true (pure poetry). Thank you for reminding me. + + +

  • Unlike the other godparents of Europop - Bowie and Roxi Music - ABBA got better in its twilight years, producing its best songs as popularity waned. From Super Trouper on, ABBA release singles that were mature classic pop, on par with anything sung by the likes of Sinatra and Shirley Bassey (something I do not think the Beatles did). People have so far only rediscovered the zippy and poppy ABBA. When will they come round to the beautifully melancholic ABBA?

  • Absolutely agree...I think Abba were always a total embarassment for any discerning music lover until Super Trooper and after..and especially this song..but don't agree about what you say about the Beatles..discuss ????

  • I think the Beatles were fantastic, but their music always had a certain youthful quality, that prevented it from fully transcending post-Rock 'n Roll pop, and becoming something more solid and mature. On the one hand this is a great achievement - I hear a Beatles's song and and it sounds fresh and ingenuous. On the other hand, it means that as I grow older, Beatles music fails to touch my wiser spirit. Maybe if the Beatles had been working together into their late-thirties and forties....

  • Beautiful song.

The man in the video is sexy. Who knows his name?

  • Comment removed

  • he's called ''get a life''

  • it has a very Moroder feel to it,she looks well hot in this vid :P x

  • I think is this her at her best ,so saucy .

  • I agree to etinegro but more over I have a hunch this song is about death not love despite the video. The band HOOVERPHONIC from the Neatherlands go bacjk to the roots of old fashioned pop music.

  • I disagree. The song is too literal to be about death. The lyrics suggest a mundane life before meeting a lover. The video suggests this too.

  • this song has a sense of reality which most songs in fact lack. somehow I can feel what the lyrics trying to say.

pity that europeans lost their dominance/influence on intern. pop music.

  • Yes.. I always like ..the smiling from the

    ``Lady`in the trainscene...she´s in love

    .....and she can´t conceal it.........

    Minute...1...05......puuuuhhh.....

  • la plus belle d'abba et surtout d'agnetha

  • 0:50 O ja pi***lę! Agnetha rozwala mnie w drobny mak...

  • mind boggingly brilliant indeed. they don't make them anymore like this...

  • though this song is very old, it still strucks me...

sadly enough, it perfectly describes my life

  • Last videoclip for ABBA ... after few months ABBA brake up ... soooo SAD :(((

  • love this song, even though rock is more my thing

  • I so love Agnetha's performance in this song and video clip. She's so seductive in it, and the guy's pretty darn cute too! It's a pity she didn't do more acting. I think she would have had great presence in films, as she had great capacity to express emotional depth.

  • mjstarchil: She was actually in the film Raskenstam from 1983!

  • Thanks for posting this video, its my favourite abba song

  • Agnetha , Queen Agnetha Ase Faltskog forever!!!

  • CAROLINA: forever I'll be yours, this is u song my song our song

  • Agnetha is so BEAUTIFUL <3

  • Mind bogglingly brilliant...

  • If this wasn't Abba it would still be such a remarkable achievement. Such intellegient lyrics about a failed liaiison - in the future ! Genius.

Beautifully filmed and recorded; the finest thing ABBA ever did ... and without even trying x

  • Why Th.Fu.. i like Abba so much ?

  • hmm. I meant, that SONG (not the VIDEO) is younger than me... as I just read it was recorded on August 20, 1982 so it's just one and a half month younger than me... [song]. I wish to be on ABBA concert with all that memorable songs... this one, and "Fernando", and "I had a dream", and "One of us"...

  • There is no doubt that this is ABBA's greatest artistic accomplishment. Other ABBA songs are more popular, or more loved. But here in their last single, you have the most poignant lyrics in faultless english, the most nuanced singing, the most classically inspired music (the motives, operatic frida, the coda), the most introspective expression (not even a group chorus!). The video totally breaks from past cliches, tells a story and even lets us inside the artists' world when they are on stage.

  • so ein geniales lied und video. das lied könnte ich mir 1000 mal nacheinander anhören so geil ist das. danke abba.

  • I have considered spending a weekend in Stockholm for sometime now and - funnily enough - although the song is very melancholic and the video is almost depressive - I feel even stronger about it...

I wonder what train station that is, it's not "Stockholm Central" is it ?

  • Thank you for uploading.

I will never forget this genial song!

  • Does anyone know where the picture @ 1:22 was taken??

  • Of course. It's the (old) Årsta bridge in Stockholm.

  • Thanks for the information!

  • it´s great to see the train at this bridge... great picture and great music !!!!

  • classic!

  • Agnetha was and still is devastatingly pretty. Sadly I think nowadays though if Agnetha looked how she looked then and was trying to make it they'd say she was either too fat, or something ridiculous like that. Music producers are lame these days, they don't appreciate natural beauty at all, i mean look at those vile Pussycat dolls!!!!! I'm sure most classy men with taste would prefer the young Agnetha!!!

  • I can't believe this song wasn't a bigger hit when it was released. Its a masterpeice. Agnetha looks stunning in the video and conveys the feelings of love at first sight amazingly. Agnetha can act...

  • The best ABBA Song ever, ever, ever!

    I love this.

  • I love this song. Could be me

  • So that's what people called Love @ First Sight... I like the 1:05 moment, when Agnetha bites her lips and smiling to the man... wish I could meet someone like Agnetha. I am travelling by train at least once a week and nothing never happens... ;( I'm 27 years old - this video is few months younger than me... I am missing this kind of music nowadays... Thanks for adding this amazing video.

  • A lovely song it is! It sounds so much like a Leonard Cohen song that I was wondering if it is. That's what hooked me., the melody ,the tempo and some of the lyrics. If it's not then Leonard should be doing this one.Maybe the composer of this one was seriously into a Leonard Cohen vibe ,or it could be purely accidental.I would love to see the look on Leonard's face if he were listening to this.

  • Frida did record L.C. song 'Suzanne' in the early 70's produced by Benny, so they were into him !!!

    Shay

  • Wonderful video!

  • Excellent********* thanks SMM

  • Awesome this original versi.......thanks !

  • She is so beautiful!!!

  • The last and the best song -wonderful....

  • the end is cold and lonely but the future comes

  • MY ABSOLUTELY FAV; THANKS Norman for sent me, too for the uploader many thanks of course****************:-)

  • YOU'RE WELCOME MISS JUDIE! ;-)

  • Thanks Mr Norman ;-)

    GOOD NIGHT LOL

  • MASTERPIECE

  • she never noticed she was BLEU? Does bleu means what i think it means? :)

  • BLUE! Sad, feeling down!

  • Agnetta is not a Woman - she's a Symbol of Woman! I surely think so. God kissed her when she was born.

Bjorn, I'm not a judge, but - HOW COULD YOU LEAVE this Woman...

  • he gave up what every man wanted!!

  • Bjorn didn't leave her, it was the other way around.

They are very discrete about their private lifes, but the fact that it was Agnetha that left has since then been revealed indirectly by both Björn and Agnetha.

  • Agnethaaaaaa........love her

  • Comment removed

  • Agnetha is hotter than anything in this video.... and so beautiful that is almost hurts.

  • My favourite song of ABBA,thank you!

  • It is a really sad Song really...She is departing her love one....and she recalls how he brings her joy and how her life is before he appears..now that he is gone.what is she to do everyday?.going back to her routine??..its a good example of how sometimes we will never get over that specal someone..and never just move on with our life.

  • According to composer Benny Andersson, this is a song about a woman thinking of time before she met her love. Its a sad song. How did the relationship turn out? Its an enigma. Benny says that this is one of few own songs that still moves him.

  • Belle Chanson qui j'adore!

  • Agnetha is stunning. She is a very private but lovely person. She is very normal. She and Frida have iconic voices.

  • The video was absolutely beautiful and unusual for the 80's, I think abba's music is a great reason to live.

  • I agree with you in 100%

  • I love this song! I love ABBA!! This video is hot!!!

"Theres not, I think, a single episode of Dallas that I didnt see"

  • wonderful track...

  • i dont know y but i love this track

  • love the song, seems to be true feelings as she was hurt really bad.

  • i love that station . i would so love to spend a night there.

  • Chinese food to Go. Ha hA. Brilliant lyrics :) Great post. Thanks :)

  • Is it just me? or does anyone else feel that this song could have been written for them? Quite sad really!

  • Yes...

  • must have left my house at eight, because

    I always do

My train, I'm certain, left the station just

    when it was due

I must have read the morning paper going

    into town

And having gotten through the editorial, no

    doubt I must have frowned

I must have made my desk around a quarter

    after nine

  • abba the best

  • Still A Classic. And By The Way: Check Out The Cover Version by "Blancmange".

  • It's revealing the tawdry life that's re-assumed after the greatest love affair in her life has died.

  • Adoro esta cancion!!!!

  • this is a a great last songs from abba

  • A sad song,really sad.Congrulations Shaymcn for the video.

  • friday love

  • This was about the end of ABBA and about their relationships. The saddest song they ever made.

  • It's not about ABBA. Benny said a couple of weeks ago in an interview in a Swedish Newspaper (The DN) that this is a very dark song about a life that gets WORSE after the woman in the song ('played' by Agnetha) meets her 'dream man'. Abuse mabye - I think the video hints in that direction as well as the lyrics and the way Agnetha sings.

  • i like that train bridge:D

  • Yes. I always wonder where that is.

  • Clearly the song is about her life before she met this guy, same old, same old n that. She is looking back and realising how empty it was!

  • This is my favourtie ABBA song by far, I prefer the fan made video on the website the abba express though, although i love this too.

  • this is a great tune

  • such a cool song and video

  • das beste Lied!!!!

  • Wow, I love that song, it always gives me goosebumps!

  • cheekychick its 2 lovers who after meeting are going their seperate ways but still teasing each other !!!!

  • i agree with alex. i find the music in this song haunting and thought this song was excellent but if i remember it didn't do as well as all their other songs which was surprising!!! thanx for posting on here

  • Please help. is she glad or sad for meeting him ??? cant quite understand but love the song ...

  • VERY glad ! She never realized her life was so lonely and empty until she met him. "...I had no sense of living without aim....the day before you came...". This song is the best, most subtle, most emotional declaration of love, ever written. It was written and performed by ABBA. Very mature. High quality. Pure poetry. Still moves me, after 27 years.

  • Oh you're so absolutely right. She lays out her quaint day-to-day life and it's beautifully ironic.

I must have lit my seventh cigarette at half past two

And at the time I never even noticed I was blue

I must have kept on dragging through the business of the day

Without really knowing anything, I hid a part of me away

A toss up between Under Attack though too. Wonderful group

  • I disagree. This is a very sad song - she is repeating to herself that her life was terrible before 'he' came. But actually - what tells us that it still isn't? The music is very sad. The section starting c. 3.05 when she is standing alone, singing among the other members who don't listen to her - a scene that can be interpreted as a cry for help. I cannot se any other interpretation than this is about love who went totally wrong. (This has nothing to do with Agnetha, she is an actor here)

  • im totally agree with you

  • How wondeful - still !!

    L O V E

  • ABBA rules. This song is haunting and the video was way ahead of its time. They will live on forever, way after that silly musical goes bye-bye.

  • Comment removed

  • they were the best and remain so. this one haunts us forever.

  • One of the best lyrics ever written, so poignant and so vivid and so sad at the same time. So evocative.

  • me and my family and our lovely Swedish friends went over that bridge this time last year!

  • what a fabulous voice Agnetha

  • Thanks for all the fine comments!!!

  • This is one of those ABBA songs that never got the recognition it rightly deserved. To me, this is one of ABBA's best songs!

  • I agree!

  • agnetha looks so georgeous

  • One of the best song clip. The scenes are beautiful.

  • I think it's funny how the camera pans to Frida when Ag sings "Watching something on tv". I just think it's kinda ironic.

  • One of the best of Abbas later songs and one of my faves

  • Wow What a nice song ^ ^ I love ABBA!

  • such a sad little song... so beautiful in its funny own little way... makes me cry every time

  • She was so beautiful. Her voice of an angel.

What a sad day it was when ABBA parted.

Amazing after all these years it still sounds so fresh and enjoyable.

    A masterpiece.

  • Agnetha, at 3.21. She was a dream come true. She had that Scandinavian talent for melancholia, and knew how to use it!

  • ...was für eine wunderschöne Frau...

  • Abba's pinnacle. Never were they better than this. Imagine how things could have panned out if all the ill-feeling hadn't got in the way... Benny later said it was a mistake to have Agnetha not put much emotion into this song, to 'make her sing like a housewife', I love everything about this number, but imagine how it would sound if Agnetha were to really go for it here.

  • a story in song that really needed no words, powerfull, emotional and so well made .Agnetha ,how can anyone not love you ,you are stunning.

  • Absolutely one of the

    Best

    Band of

    All times...

    Got it?

  • one of my greatest songs of all time the last song of one of the most greatest pop legends of all time ABBA.

  • diesen alten schweden in diesem video kann man ja nur beneiden. finde übrigens auch, das die letzten lieder der gruppe auch ihre besten waren, leider..

  • Splendid.

  • THE ABBA track!!! : ) I love it.

  • Agnetta is really the symbol of Ideal Woman! Bjorn was a fool to divorce.

  • Oh my, the look in Agnetha's eye(s). Melancholic Nordic masterpiece.

  • Been an Abba fan since I was about 7 when I went to see ABBA the movie, so 30odd years. This track is on of their best ever. I have never seen Agnetha look better than in this video. What I'd have given for her to be looking at me on that train....what a beautiful smile.

  • Exactly! That smile on the train gets me every time, it's a masterclass in seduction, and the way she bites her lip after that, I just have to watch it over and over!

This is one of those songs that had to grow on me, didn't like it at first, now it's my all time favourite; such wonderful melancholy, for instance the descending vocal melody in the line before she sings the song title (1:10, 2:21, 4:04, 4:25), so heartbreakingly sad and beautiful at the same time... a true masterpiece!

  • Oh my goodness. Why would you you want to post this is Widescreen when it wasn't filmed in widescreen. It's distorted and stretched the images, making Agnetha look short and fat!

  • My Goodness! I see such a woman like Agnetha smiling to me in the train, and I fall apart! Pure ABBA essence, and outstanding words, please try to get each of them... Poetry!

  • the END of ABBA..nice video and song..thx:)

  • Maybe the last ABBA song is also their best song! Unfortunately!

  • of course!...that's why ABBA is the best ever! =D

  • Comment removed

  • It"s a pity , its last station on the way of the best pop group in 70th and 80th and for lovely Queen Agnetha Ase Faltskog. Fantastic job as usual Shay. Thanks for you.

  • i have a question because of the video-story. i can´t understand what the ending-scene shall show. her way of looking tells me something kind of "NOW he doesn´t come anymore. he CAN´T come anymore...!" in this comparison i have a murder in my mind. is that correct? i mean, that the story of the video is like: an affair - he goes back to his family - she gets mad because of that - and finally revenges with murdering him?

sorry if i interpret it completely wrong!

  • the main theme of the video is the day before you came and the actual description of that (or those) day. So in think the end simply shows the end of that day(before he came)...as the train goes by. But then why the scenes when they are shown together?...Maybe she was just fantasizing over such things while "heaps of papers waiting to be signed"....In my op

  • The last song from abba great

  • i love this song. i love abba.

  • I feel this now,Eli.
