  • Um. It takes more than two people to play a string quartet. As a violist, I am offended. Naturally, only the violinists are the "featured artists." Give credit where credit is due.

    (Sounds great, by the way!)

  • @JEdz1000 -- I normally do, incidentally I don't know the names of the members of Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.

  • Borodin was an interesting composer. He was a chemist who composed in his spare time.

  • brill!

  • Thanks for submitting this excellent recording. I never paid much attention to this Borodin composition until seeing the movie "The House of Mirth" with Gillian Anderson. At the end of the movie, this beautiful music is particularly appropriate.

And, on the DVD, Terence Davies explained the movie end and my search was on. And then I found Borodin, and then your video and Joshua Bell's unparalleled version. Thank you

  • looooove joshua bell :)

  • The vocal record of this music is "And This Is My Beloved".......sung by Jerry Vale. Thanks so much for having this beautiful music shared to everyone.

  • you're welcome, nfs.

it's also in 1:17~1:57 of this video; moreover, sammy davis, jr. among others.
