What sort of accent is that? You should try having a glass of Chab'Lisss before reading in the future. Is you talking like dat for a reason? I'm sure that Don B. would forgive you. Me...I'm not so sure.
Thank you. Gushing over the Great Don always sounds sarcastic. Those people are no fun. They don't drink enough and scoff at loud laughs and were glasses like that, no offense. Do more.
Great read. I was going to say something about the pronunciation of the title, but I can see that's been sufficiently tended to.
Barthelme's stories are great for this sort of feature -- brief, intense stories that don't run exhaustive lengths. Not that there is anything wrong with longer fiction, but I'd find it hard to enjoy unless I'm the one reading.
Well....whatever it takes to introduce a 'post-literate' culture to the mad pleasures of Donald Barthelme, who cut his teeth writing 'childrens books' and then gave exhausted, martini drunk adults a chance to marinate their own confusions in his dead pan, 'contemporary fables'. Kudos.
Please understand that I love Donald Barthelme and still consider him one of the most imaginative and ground breaking writers of the past....half centuty. Check out CITY LIFE and THE DEAD FATHER.
Bravo Antonio!! That was an interesting and entertaining story, and you looked so relaxed. You must read more here on yt.I believe Chablis is pronounced with the S being silent in English.
Ok guys, someone has to speak for us women,so you think it is only men that live thiere lives in quiet desperation? I am sure there are women out there that would disagree! lol Come on girls ,help me out here.
Yeah, I trhink so, too, I asked an American exchange student at my school and he pronounced it the way I dod in the story but neither he (he's from Columbia, actually, but has been living in the US since he was a little kid) nor me were sure whether this was accurate American English, so thanks a lot!!!
Sehr schön, von dir auch mal anderes zu sehen. :o) Ich mag deine Stimme, sie klingt nicht nur beim Singen schön. Deine Gesichtsmimik beim Vorlesen ist köstlich. ;) Ich bin mal gespannt, was noch so alles von dir kommt. LG, Melle
Well, I knew how the French pronounce it but, I wasn't sure how it's pronounced in America, so I asked an exchange student from Florida and he pronounced it the way I did here, but might be he didn't knew this wine as he's 18 years old. Thanks for telling me!
Por acaso voce fala portuguese ou usou o tradutor? Caso voce entenda e queira que eu escreva pra voce treinar, nao tem problema!

A note on the title: you don't pronounce the final "s" in a french word like "Chablis". It's pronounced "sha-BLEE", not "CHAB-lis." Look it up.

Oh dear. It's pronounced "shab-lee".
If as seems the case you don't know how to pronounce his name either, please note: "Bar-thel-me".
