As a side note here I wonder how many muslims pointing to the mistakes / unreliability of the Bible are capable to see that the same can be said about the qur'an? The qur'an has definitely a history (as proved by the Sana'a manuscripts) and it is far from being 'perfect'...The main difference between Christianity, Judaism and islam is the fact that the so called 'muslim scholars' have never been able to go beyond the Middle Ages...

@philsci1 ok then bring mistakes and contradictions in the quran if you can, the chalenge is there , it has been there for over 1400 years, the fact is that jews and christians are leaving there religions and coming to islam, i realy dont blame them for doing that, coz there religions are man made, muslim is somebody who submits to the will of GOD, ISLAM means submision to the will of GOD, all there prophets submited to the will of GOD, all are muslim,inshallah ehrman will acept islam

Do you think it is being honest to take one Religion's text, use it, modify it, and then call it another Religion? It's impossible to translate one language into English. All Religions are NOT telling the entire truth, nor are they spiritual studies. they are all based on dogma and converting one by the means of brainwashing techniques. they are using old way of thinking that doesn't work. god, or Jesus is not there to forgive people that commit crimes against others.

Why do we need the originals? That's absurd. They were preserved through scribes who copied them faithfully. This process of faithful copying was demonstrated via the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1948. These included copies of texts from the Hebrew Bible and they agreed with the Bible we have today.

Ehrman has a presupposition that the Bible is not the Word of God and he rejects anthing that does not fit his presupposition.

That debate was awesome ,Sjoberg was a sitting duck , but I think deedat's best debate was against shorrosh , "The Quran or The Bible , Which is Gods Word ?" watch the whole thing , the Q&A , and the afterward lecture....deedat owned shorrosh , and whats funny is that shorrosh claims he won !!! Rather then ask why he was brought up to believe verbatim that every word was uttered by God,he should have asked why he couldn't comphrehend the fact Jesus didn't speak Greek or Latin but Aramaic when English didn't even exist as a language
