Terry is laid back & cheerful person who enjoys the company with different friends & people, especially children. However, Ryu's personality is more uptight & straight forward. He is a loner and enjoy to be alone by himself. In that sense, he is completely the opposite of Terry.

However, it is true that Ken is more similar to Robert, yet, i dont see any similarity between Terry and Ryu. Terry is kind of a loner, but NOT to the extent that Ryu is.

Ken's personality is flashy & hot-headed; Terry is low key & laid back. They are completely two type of person, it doesn't make sense to say they are "the same" because they are both blonds.

@pigboykool Well, you are right about Ken being flashy and Terry low key, yet, i think they resemble more after both take responsability aftr taking care of their kids (Ken aftr SFIV & Terry aftr adopting Rock, spcially in Garou). Mostly, i think their resemblance is in their attitude to fight (train hard, but take it easy and enjoy it) & their upbeat natur around the others. Probably, their main diffrnc is their background, Ken being a rich boy & Terry with his history in Fatal Fury

How would you know that evil Ryu give Akuma a hard time? Ryu only fought Akuma once and that was in his normal form. Also he was only Evil Ryu once and after he learned to suppress the Dark Hadou he vowed never to become evil again.

So i ask again how would you know that his power would keep Akuma at bay?

first of all im not trying to bag on your comments which are right but there is one thing you forgot. In Street fighter alpha generations the movie he does use the dark hadou for a short period of time and fights on equal ground with akuma until he realizes what he is doing is wrong. if ryu did go down that path and learned to control it, you cant sit there and tell me that he wouldnt be able to deafeat akuma or as i said before give him a hard time. you never know. peace

i personaly like both street fighter and king of fighter but street of fighter get a little boring in the arcade, but king of fighters never gets boring. king of fighters have so many character and so many finishing moves it's the best.

Nah, it only gets boring if you don't know how to play it. SF has always had a lot of gameplay depth and replay value, and SFIII is the best example.

A zomg quantity of chars isn't that great since it makes the game less balanced... and let's face it, snk often only creates 1 good character and then makes 2 meh ones to complete a team. Also, many of them are just filler chars that don't get picked by anyone.

Capcom fails compared to SNK, SNK is more popular in Japan than Capcom. Not only that, Capcom failed with their artist. Falcoon, a popular artist for Capcom and SNK moved permanetly to SNK cause of the value of SNK over Capcom. Street Fighter also has no real balance in their story, it's mixed and matched and constantly being changed. SNK stays on track and introduces new protogonist and antogonists, unlike Street Fighter which the main character has always been Ryu.

P.S Iori can beat Terry In his normal state I've seen proof of it so Ken can beat Iori like he did, even though I like Ken Only out of The whole SF cast in history but he Can't though I understand That would have caused problems with the story line so it's fine. Capcom pioneered almost all the mechanisms (super cancels, character assists, crossovers, that magical bluish strike before another character jumps in to combo, etc) in their fighting games before you then later get to see in SNK's KOF games.

And Street Fighter always has a Western/international look and appeal overall (unlike KOF ie where Vanessa, Seth and Heavy D speaks Japanese - not for Cammy, Deejay and Balrog that use English - even Zangief has some Russian and Hugo some German!)

whereas King of Fighters has a domestic Japan look (too Japanese in a bad way) that is less inviting to overseas players (save those in Asia and Latin America).

For years until SNK even needed a third party to sell its King of Fighters games in America and the West whereas Street Fighter is all along sold solely by Capcom themselves.

And who cares about the small Japan market. SF and KOF are both equally hot in Asia with some following too in South America, and by majority count Capcom wins.

Technically, SNK fails as far that I see. SNK isn't as big as Capcom or Namco Bandai. Street Fighter more traditional than KOF. I played KOFXI and didn't like. Most of the characters in there doesn't have a motive in the story. Beside, SNK always focus on the KOF franhise.

I know my SF and KoF The matter of the fact is... Alex isn't that great of a character design. He was the protogonist in SF III, that's it. In his own story he gets beat by Ryu who can't counter none of his blows. On top of that, Ibuki and Makoto, characters of the same game as Alex made into the new SF, SF IV. To where Alex has yet to even make the cut.
