You make it sound like all we do is suck spit. We work really hard. And have to know every little thing that needs to be set up so the dentist can do his job. I think the dental assistants work harder then anyone else in the dental office

@Nacole1984 we ARE the hardest working people in the dental team, but we dont get recognition from it, they all just take advantage and use us! honestly, if you dont see it, you should start looking out for it, theres no appreitiation out there, we dont get given enough time, the dentists take up all the time by chatting rubbish, and then thats like half the appointment gone.....were left to clean up the mess.....YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

man, im a dental assistant, and the fact that i get treated like poo by patients is totally putting me off, im so quitting once ive qualified, i actually cannot understand how there are dental assistants out there who can say they love what they do....id rather kill my self than have this job....yeah....

I agree! We Dental Assistants use INSTRUMENTS not tools! We also use many more instruments than these.

I would like to salute all the dental assistants out there that do a great job . In my opinion it was my stepping stone to becoming a dentist and I love what I do.

If it wasn't for dental assistants the ship would sink.

We are the backbone of a well runned practice even though they don't think so.

Most dentist have no clue of what a dental assistant really does. Therefore, I don't understand why he is doing the video.=Dental Assistants Rock!

@94bluejay i work at a place with more then 7 dentist and i have worked with both dickheads and the sweets dentists ever. this job can be way cool if you find a dentist that works well with you.

i agree hes making it seem way more simple than it actually is, and missing alot of instruments that we pass and must know.

I agree.. he makes the dental assistants job seem like theres nothing to it. definitely not the case.. not to mention forecepes for putting the clamp on for the dam, the pfi, lining instruments or even the difference in instruments for amalgam and composite.. this video missed alot of info about the dental assistants tools.

yeah the dental assistant may use those 3 the most... but what about all the tools we hand to the dentist? for instance, the basic setup - mouth mirror, dental explorer, periodontal prob, and cotton plyers. then to mix material, the dental spatula. and amalgam carrier, dycal instrument, amalgam plugger/condenser, hollenback, cleiod/discoid, ball burnishers, carvers, etc... and then the materials!! Dycal, Vitrebond, acid etch (obviously for composite) base catylist.. Ur missing a lot

ya this video sure missed a hell lots of things. I must say as long as any 'shit' part of the work which the dentist are lazy to do.. WE'LL DO. I've been in this for the pass 10 years.. sometime we can be better than new young dentist who are just out from school.. haha..
