@PretentiousLemming yeah I've definitely improved on sustaining since I made this video. I've been wanting to make a new video since I've improved and got a good mic to record with.
@Mushamashi987654 honestly, putting rasp into your vocals like that takes a lot of exploring with your own voice. I personally (as cliche as it sounds) spent a few weeks mimicking Jonny Craig's voice on the Emarosa album "Relativity." You have to find a certain threshold where your voice starts going into almost a scream, then once you get the hang of it, you can learn to manipulate it in a more comfortable range. But be careful when practicing, if you do it wrong you'll screw your vocals up.
@Mushamashi987654 You absolutely MUST learn the correct technique to be able to do this without killing your voice. My voice isn't naturally this high, over the past year I have been pushing myself to increase my range. It just takes a little patience.
@Mushamashi987654 you just have to do it. That's the only way I know to put it. You're mind is going to freak out and make you hesitate. Just do it anyway.
Good cover and I got to admit that I actually prefer your tone then the original. I'm starting to think I should boot the Death vocals from my band and get a singer like you lol
@dc08bfmv these guys are just totally unique you'd have to listen to Stutterfly (Same band, diff singer) or Shreddy Krueger (Bass on vox and same drummer i think) to find some more. Also try the Bleedingalarm (Charles the singer was kicked from that band) and Cry of the Afflicted a band thats from that same scene.

Insane I wish i had pipes that could see that clean.
dude u hav an amazing voice bro n idk wat 2 really call this kinda rock but it kinda sounds like metalcore a lil bit n the beginning but anyway good cover secret and whisper is a pretty good band
@illgosailing I couldn't find dedicated musicians to play my stuff, and I wasn't about to let anything but the best I could find play music I wrote. lol
pretty amazing bro, great tonal quality, it does sound like your attack can't sustain though.
Rediculous cover nonetheless

@EpochInEpitaph but where do you start? just singing with correct technique or something?
and do you have a naturally high voice or are you just well acquainted with your voice?

Understandable. You should check out my band In Triumph's Wake. We play this style and I understand exactly what you mean with the dedication thing.

What's this? A cover of S&W in it's original octave?
I guess there's a first for everything. Great job. You've got balls for covering them. They are my favorite band, would love to see more.

@PeanutButterGtr Thanks :) I had to cut the outro so my laptop wouldn't freeze when it was saving the video. :/
EpochInEpitaph 8 months ago
@PeanutButterGtr Can you do a saosin voices cover? I'd love that!!!
PeanutButterGtr 8 months ago
@PeanutButterGtr I might consider it :) Idk if I can sing as high as Anthony Green though. haha
EpochInEpitaph 8 months ago
@EpochInEpitaph Anthony Green doesn't sing Voices, Cove Reber does (did). I'm sure you can do it no problem. Are you willing to try?
