ive been playing blues guitar for 20 years, this guy is Amazing. Compare this to the X factor shite. lol I think the world needs a blues comeback who's with me?
Your videos have inspired me to get a harmonica. Thanks for all the great vids and your lessons are so helpful! Your playing is so soulful and expresive! What you play from :20 to about :50 is amazing!! Keep it up please.
hey ronnie! the link to "ultimatejamtracks" is dead. do you happen to know where else i'm able to get this back track? it sounds amazing with you playing along! i would really like to get a hold of this track so i can practice with it.
man ive been trying for weeks to figure on my own and it doesnt sound the same, that warble you do at 1:40 is it 4,5 draw, to a 4,5 blow back to a draw? its killin me or is my technique badly flawed....
I only heard it once and I could be wrong but I heard a 2nd sound in there. It wasn't the note beside it so im presuming he had his tongue on the harmonica while warbaling.
I just received Ronnie's "Beginners Blues Licks - Volume 1". Great stuff. Especially for the money. With no formal lessons, these licks are perfect. Good explaination and easy to follow along. I popped it in my car and practice while I'm driving. Can't wait for Volume II.
positions with harp refer to where your root note is ... cross harp root is two draw .... third position your one hole draw is the root.....playing minor blues in third (band in d minor use c harp)one hole draw and four draw and eight draw is your root note....
Funny you should ask. While i have recorded on a handful of other peoples cds, I don't have my own. Next month Jeremy Vasquez:guitar and I are flying to Chicago to record an album of our own with Nick Moss and the Fliptops. I don't know when it'll be ready, but it's going to be killer. Google his name or watch some of his clips here on youtube. WC Handy winners!
maaaan thank you for the inspiration, you won't let me quit them harmonicas so soon (got to make my first bends yesterday, btw, dammn i'm so happy! :D)
Say Ronnie, what people have inspired you for the licks in the first part of this video?

if you just ask for -1 in a music-store you can choose between diffrent stiles of -1's (play along traks)

You're brilliant, but I think your style would more suit ampilified harmonica. It just has that raw style.

try a C first, Hohner Special 20 works well for me.
there's a lot of instruction that uses a C harmonica.
