  • This is SUCH an important historical piece.

  • damn best introduction

  • First time I've heard this recording so clean and clear...how was it originally recorded -? Oct '52, was that before magnetic tape?

    But beautiful.

  • thank you so much for posting this

i have always wondered what it was like to be there and now i kind of can

  • Of the live stuff I've heard. This intro/first song really SAYS what Judy Garland was, not just a SINGER (and, man, she was a HELLUVA singer) but a consummate ENTERTAINER! Wish I coulda seen stuff like this live.

  • I didn't realize there were recordings of her Palace run. I have a recording from the tour (San Francisco???) but not from New York.

    Wow. Thanks.

  • And I didn't realize the version I have on CD is quite edited-down comapared to this one. I always thought the words "To You" shoulda been at the end of that intro (they don't show up on My CD, it goes straight from the word "Judy" to the END of that OVER THE RAINBOW clip). THANKS for this ONE.

  • All I can say is Thank You! and "What a Voice", eh? One forgets but this is the BEST!

  • Lorna was born in November 1952 so this would have been before her birth.

  • i think it was after

    not sure though.

  • thanks :)

  • can i ask one of those annoying questions? is this before she had lorna or after? xx

  • A perfect human and artist.
