Die in a fire. Texas won it's independence from a corrupt and backwards Mexico before it joined the Union. Mexico hasn't changed, yet Texas remains the strongest economy in the United States. I'm a Austin Texas former-Republican/sometimes-Democrat, but even I wouldn't mind the opportunity to be an independent nation again given the kind of idiocy espoused by people like MonCheRacheal who lack any real understanding of our state.
with all due respect but "for the first time in 23 years texas can really make a difference" is a misnomer. two idiot presidents came from texas bush 1 and 2.
you really did make a difference texASS. you gave america a so so president and the worst president in the history of america.
you made the WRONG difference for the past 23 years, now stop, just stop making a difference. we can't handle your "difference" any longer!
Shame on you TEXAS you have sealed the DOOM of the US by voting for Hillary above OBAMA. So blame yourself when either Republician or Hillary and the US falling to ruin. THANKS ALOT!
If these people really wanted to make a difference, then they would vote for Mike Gravel or bring in somebody else that actually talks straight. Sames goes for the Republicans, Ron Paul is their straight talking guy. Instead they stand behind the elite's high society choices, who are just actors performing their duties as puppets. Thee people really need to wake up and start smelling the coffee. The Rockefeller's and their friends run the US, not these puppets who are portrayed as being elected.
Girl at 2:46 says "I don't know what I'm doing, but I know that I'm helping". Interesting, she doesn't know, yet she knows. It's great to be a part of something and to know that your are contributing to society. Yet, she doesn't know, she probably just feels a certain energy from being there and describes this as "knowing". These elections are shams anyway, since the winner has already been determined by the ruling elite. As is the person who will become president.
I think sh meant that she doesn't know the exact process of the "Texas two-step", how the caucus works etc. What she says she does know, though, is that she's voting and therefore making a difference, "helping [her candidate]" as she described it.
this is the political process in action? I am disgusted at this state of affairs! This voting I see around me is more like a wild goose chase. In any case nice video but I'd like to see it with some political commentary and not in a PC way.
Thanks REal News for a great insight into the american caucus in england we dont have stuff like this really the Party chooses to nominate a candidate for PM and then he or she stands for the general elections . that is a little easy but i guess you have to go through that process when you have 2 strong candidates.
Texas Republicans do not caucus. They hold a "party" right after the poles close; much like the Democrats. Though they do not vote again. Yet delegates are chosen by those that decide to show up to the Republican "Party". If only a few show up they are allowed to be delegates since no one showed to vote them "down". But then the process gets extremely complicated, the delegate has to get voters to sign a petition that live in that district. long story short: G.O.P. = average voter matters not.
The Republican caucus is called a Precinct Convention. I live in a heavily Democratic part of Texas, and my polling location was swamped with hundreds of caucusing Democrats.
My precinct convention had 5 attendees, two of which I dragged out to help me become a delegate to the senatorial/state conventions and pass resolutions against unconstitutional wars, RealID, Patriot/Military Commissions Acts, the Federal Reserve and much more that will be incorporated in the state GOP platform.
cool, so it works as a way of informing party policy. I was wondering if it were theoretically possible for Ron Paul (or Mike Gravel on the democrat side) to pick up delegates in the second phase.
The system is flawed, caucuses are a higly democratic institution early on in the race, where there's lots of candidates and people actually choose at the caucus site.
people are delusional if they expect real change. They think they are voting for a Che Guevara when in fact they are just voting for a Bush -1(Hillary) or -2 (Obama)
The process is unnecessarily difficult BY DESIGN. The last thing the elite want is people getting too involved in politics, which is why its convoluted. I know Ron Paul has been training his voters in the process for months. They are taking state GOP parties over across the country in places like Oklahoma, Alaska, Montana, Washington, etc. You wouldn't know it since the media doesn't cover such things (real news included), but the GOP establishment is very afraid for their jobs right now.
actually, they broke election laws by signing in outside prior to the convention starting

ron956 how in the hell do you know anything about Obama, and his plan or lack thereof?
The man is not black , he is bi-racial...
And only a fascist would suggest that he is counting on his being any particular race/color to get him elected....
Better to be an empty suit rather than an empty brain....

Do Texas republicans two-step? If so I'd have been interested in seeing the comparison and contrast between them.

It's one worth at this point is to guage how passionate people are about their candidates.
A bit of a no brainer recently.
