Any celestial body that has enough mass to contain a lesser body in a regular orbit around it has a lot of effect on that body. But don't worry it's not going to create tsunami's.

The Sun will not stop Earth rotation since it is too far. The gravitational difference (gradient) between front side and backside is too small to have a big effect. But the Moon is much closer the gravitational difference is much bigger.

Tidal locking or orbital resonance is pretty common in the universe given enough time to stabilize. Once it locked, it is very stable.

Why do all of the moons of the other planets rotate then? Jupiter is much larger than Earth so one would reasonably think that Jupiter's gravitaional pull on its moons would cause the same "locked" phenomenon. The Moon is tidally locked to Earth. Which means we only see one side of it because the gravitational pull of Earth prevents the Moon from spinning. You can read about this on Google or Wikipedia.

So your saying that the moon is in a perfect orbit around the earth, that its face will always be the same face that we will see forever from this date and always? I just can't bring myself to believe that a celestial body 1/4 the diameter of this planet, rotates exactly the same as our planet. If the moon got its orbit over time to be the same as ours because of our gravitational pull, then why doesn't the same thing happen to all the planets compared to the sun?

This didn't explain anything! The moon doesn't rotate in relation to Earth, only the Sun, but it's not orbiting the Sun directly. No celestrial body does this. The explainations are all BS! so the moon does a cycle every 29.5 days (1 month average) and one face of the moon is always facing us.
by the time the earth has done a complete cycle around the sun (1 year), the earth and moon are exactly where they started in exactly the same position for another round.

With over 170 moons to terraform, there is no lack of work. NASA has to drop off canisters of Liquid Cryogens to build atmospheric pressure on the Moon. The expansion ratio of Liquid Oxygen for example, is 861:1 at 68 °F (20 °C). And, 1 litre of Lquid Nitrogen will expand to 700 litres of nitrogen gas at STP. Same for all the other cryogens. Then we wait 2 years for these gases to settle before terraforming the moon.

@Islandboyy02 Earth's rotation is actually slowed down but very slowly. Earth has bigger mass so it is not that easy to stop.
The Sun will not stop Earth rotation since it is too far. The gravitational difference (gradient) between front side and backside is too small to have a big effect. But the Moon is much closer the gravitational difference is much bigger.

@Islandboyy02 The gravitational locking would not work if the Moon is a perfect sphere with perfect mass distribution. So basically the part pointing to the Earth is a bit heavier than the rest.
Tidal locking or orbital resonance is pretty common in the universe given enough time to stabilize. Once it locked, it is very stable.

OMG some of the conclusions some people draw to think how "unique" the earth is ( Creationists,etc.) Of course the odds are there ARE earth like planets, probably thousands if not millions of them. People just dont' realize just how HUGE the universe is. There are BILLIONS of galaxies. Does anyone undertstand "billions" or is that just too much for the average Joe to grasp? The reason why we can't see the other side because we can't see the 3D shape of the moon hence it looks like its flat and 2d. Its too far away to see the 3d spere shape. Even if it rotates we wouldn't know because it looks the same on each side.

The idea that the moon 'rotates' once for every orbital period is the same as saying it doesn't rotate at all. Anything more or less than once would imply rotation. If there were a large cable connecting the near face of the moon to earth, who would then say it is 'rotating'? If you swing a golf club and see only one face during the swing, is the club head "rotating" or is it orbiting?......A "relativist" is one who prefers to face none or several realities. Anything but the obvious.

Why do all of the moons of the other planets rotate then? Jupiter is much larger than Earth so one would reasonably think that Jupiter's gravitaional pull on its moons would cause the same "locked" phenomenon. I believe that the Moon is an artificial construct and not a naturally occurring body at all. Out of all the planets in our solar system, the Earth's Moon (in a vacuum) is the only one that doesn't rotate. All naturally occurring spheres in a vacuum rotate. George Lucas knows what up?

I don't think you understand. The moon's rotation is synchronized with the earth so that we only see one side the moon. The moon would not stay spherical in space if it did not rotate. It would not have its own gravity if it didn't rotate.

Rotation doesn't affect gravity, mass affects gravity. But you're half right about the rotation. Due to tidal forces the moons rotation time is the same as its orbit time, about 27.3 days. A common phenomenon for moons, Ganymede around Jupiter does the same, rotation 7.1 days, orbit 7.1 days.

This is totally false. Continental drift happens because mantle heat convection makes new crust at one end of a geologic plate (i.e mid-atlantic ridge), and at the plates other end, it gets cooler and denser sinking back into the mantle (subduction). Its a recycling action. Info on continental drift is readily available if you are willing to read about it. Now if a great "deluge" made the Atlantic basin open, why is the Atlantic still spreading today (about 2 cm per year)?

I've studies UFOs for over 45 years, and found all of them have natural explanations. Most people are sadly totally ignorant of space and often mistake planets for spacecraft. In Wales 2 months ago a man called the police saying there was a UFO above his house. The cops found the object was actually the MOON. Real mainstream science never declares anything is impossible, it's always gauged in probabilities. Typical objects reported as UFOs; The moon, Venus, weather balloons, lenticular cloud formations, flocks of birds, ball lightning, meteors, chinese lanterns, aircraft flares, space satellites, re-entering space debris, thunderstorm sprites, mirages. The space shuttle launches have been even reported as being UFOs. A vast majority of photographed or videoed UFOs are attempts at deliberate fakes. All these have been found from UFO reports and are much more likely than alien visitors.

alien8ted, let me correct you. Science is the effort to discover & increase human understanding of how physical reality works. Although philosophical, cultural, religious and political aspects are not regarded as science the active "research" into understanding and deciphering it is. Time travel regardless is considered science as it is the study of the manipulation of a measurement that is supposed to be consistently flowing and in terms cannot be changed or replaced, therefor making it science

What you have completely failed to recognise is that you have merely swapped a conventional social programming for an unconventional one.
