  • that guitar solo was ahead of its time back then! Damn good stuff!! Sounds like a Fender Tele!

  • FCK YEAH Kansas City

  • Helluva song!

  • 12th Street and Vine...probably a shady part of town these days

  • That's the year i was born. love that son, sing it everyday!

  • I've heard other singers' version of this song; but this version remains my favorite.

  • This was the #1 song the day I was born. Very cool!

  • "I will be standing on the corner 12th St and Vine... They got a crazy way of loving and I'm going to get

    me some". Classic.

  • Brings back great memories of that era . A terrific girlfriend who had absolutely no figure , her nickname was "paling " . An Aussie ...

  • One of the most requested standards of all time, really.

  • They don't make 'em like this no more. Classic. I totally love it. Thanks for taking me back down memory lane.

  • I wish this kind of music was still alive in these days3

  • Iam 46 and I like this music thanks to my DAD

  • go chiefs go royals

  • @oxamanda93xo and Sporting Kansas City soccer too...

  • Reminds me of traveling on Route 66, CA, AZ, NM, TX.

  • They got some crazy lil women there and I'm gonna get me one, oh yeah..................

  • Great song, bet Kansas City in his day was nice.

  • Loved to watch my mom and dad dance to this song...

  • It looks like someone socked the shit out of her face

  • What a grrrrrrrrrreat tune . Love the way he says "stand on the corner".

  • Have you noticed that Kansas City is featured in 2 hit series on television? The 1st series is called ( The 1st 48 ) it plays on A&E, it's about murders. Kansas City is also featured on A&E, it's called Kansas City Swat. From what I saw on tv, I have a very, very good chance of going to Kansas City to buy large amounts of drugs and I also have a great chance of being murdered in Kansas City. You don't have to believe me, just look at the facts, facts don't lie, nor do numbers, nor do my eyes

  • Cool

  • this song is a classic. the driving beat, the droning one note in the background is so cool. now you know where SRV got some of his playing style from if you just listen to that beat, RELENTLESS!!!!

  • I agree opinions vary but, I like the fast lane. I been to NY, met many nice people and met some not so nice. Knowing you could meet a famous person on the streets, or the love of your life, or get murdered at anytime is priceless, I love NY.

  • I like this song but, Kansas City is not even close to being on the level of New York, not in a million years.

  • There IS a 12th Street and Vine.

  • Are there some "crazy little women there"?

  • this is not on the 'american graffiti' soundtrack. good song.

  • Great song! Great city!

  • GOOD SHOW DUDE, YOUR EARS ARE OPEN...

  • best version of this great tune..

i like the no breaks in the hook..

  • There is no 12th and Vine..

  • Actually, 12th Terrace intersects with Vine just east of The Paseo

  • The song doesn't say 12th Terrace...

  • good lord, technicalities, its a good song,a fun song!!!loved it as I was growing up in the 70's, lifted my spirits, conected me to my mom and dad, danced, sang!!!

  • I'm Chinese and over sixty, and I'll tell you this one is among my alltime favorites.

  • oldies is real muzik.. nothing beats it.. NOTHING!

  • i love this song i am 14 and live in kc

  • hehe i really do hate that adolescents like my age(14) dont really like classics... almost all my friends think that im a freak...but i don't care:D great song

  • great beat...i love the drums i think they're an awesome instrument....i luv u amer

  • Been There!

  • Where on earth is Fat's Domino? Sorry but I like that version much better. This is still good though, reminds you of a better time. lol I am only 20...good ole fashioned music baby.

  • My dads favorite, if it was in a jukebox he was playin it. Thanks for the memories.

  • 5/4/08---2,866
